Even Cruella De Vil would be disgusted.

A young woman has become the focus of death threats and hate messages after video of her throwing live puppies into a river was recently posted online.

Her identity is unknown, but some have suggested she may be from Bosnia.

The disturbing video shows the young, blonde woman smiling as she picks several puppies out of a dirty bucket and viciously tosses them into a rapidly flowing river.

At one point, as the woman lobs a black-and-white pup into the water, she can clearly be heard saying, "whee."

Online "investigators" have posted links to a YouTube page, as well as several Facebook profiles, accusing those people of being the girl or the person who filmed the video. It is unclear if the witch hunt has actually found those responsible, however.

The video was originally featured on YouTube, but has since been pulled because of its content.

This video is only the latest bit of animal cruelty captured on tape to spark outrage online. A woman in England was similarly hunted down and targeted for throwing a cat into a trash bin.

Mary Bale, who was caught earlier this month on video pushing a cat into a garbage can and closing the lid, similarly became the focus of angry online messages and death threats. She has since apologized for her actions.

In 2008, a U.S. Marine in Iraq was also condemned after video was posted of him taking a small puppy and throwing it off a cliff.

According to CNN, Lance Cpl. David Motari, based in Hawaii with the 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, was later booted from the Corps. The Marine who filmed the incident, Sgt. Crismarvin Banez Encarnacion, was also disciplined.

The video can be found in the source link, but I the content is pretty extreme. I couldn't even look at it without closing my eyes most of the parts.
But this is seriously messed up. sigh...

You know it's interesting... what someone can do to an animal.

:(

There isn't a reason for this. The people involved probably just want some sort of self-gratification from it by asserting that they are "powerful" or something like that.

Though you know... I'm worried about what these guys could possibly do to people. If you could do something like that to a defenseless animal, you may just be sick enough to aim at a defenseless person.

No, no they don't. The people involved are doing what they always do with unwanted animal offspring. This is normal, not exceptional.
Yeah, my *** that is what they are doing. There are alternative options, this being an extreme one. You don't want them? Just GIVE them away it's simple and easy, many people would love to own a pet for free. But you know, people are lazy and don't want to put the effort into finding people.

Nothing you can do but say, "Thats distrubing." and hope people someday realize what they're doing. I guess what we should take from this, is that these events are becomming more common and wont stop for quite some time.

From what I've heard, she will only face a fine if found. She deserves much more punishment than that, in my opinion, because it was premeditated because this is just as bad as killing children. These puppies are the sons and daughters of two parents; this is absolutely sickening.

Did I get carried away? Or did the person throwing puppies in the river get carried away?
Hm, tough choice....

Anyways, I guess your right, but this is still pretty sick, you can't deny. :(

this is what happens when people suffer from extreme inferiority complexes

she's miserable, picking on smaller creatures makes her feel better

of course, she typically doesn't stand up to anything her own size

I've known about this situation for a while, and I do know for a fact that 4chan (Crazy Internet community), is doing their best to hunt down this person. They actually managed to find the youtube account that uploaded it (Bosnian I think), and have already began to harass the uploader (who is male), They managed to confirm he was the uploader when they found him posting in another forum about being bothered by random people for posting the video. The girl is still the tougher task, but knowing 4chan...should be no problem.

Also PETA is handing out a 2,000 dollar award for info leading to her identity.

I also hope that 4chan gets the RIGHT people. Dear lord how much scrutiny that site could face if they got someone else. They did manage to troll an old lady who continuously dumped cats into the garbage can to the point she stopped, so thumbs up for that. However, if they start trolling or messing up the life of an innocent person, then some kind of justice would have to be served on them as well. I'm rooting for them, but I hope they go through and absolutely confirm every source if they manage to find the girl (doubt it, since it's just regular people like you and me using 4chan). If anything, 4chan can sometimes play the role of modern day vigilante.

Finally, as much as it pained my heart to watch this, I would like to say that there are plenty of household pets that die with crueler fates. Sometimes it comes down to not having enough money for a proper euthanize, or lack of money to even take them into adoption care. Some are left to starve on the streets, catch disease, and suffer painful deaths. I do know that adoption centers continue to ask for donations, but they can't take in every single pet they find. Regardless, what the girl is doing is inhumane and I do hope justice will be served. If she really is from Bosnia, I hope there are strict animal cruelty laws there. I recently read an article on animal cruelty in China (no laws exist), which was very gut wrenching.

Edit: Not Bosnian, but Croatian.

Are you implying people shouldn't get angry about wholesale animal abuse/slaughter?
you make a great debater to people who let people imply their implications.

No, when humans are tortured and beaten to death they're like lol k but animal abuse, nail him to wall and shoot him 1000 times.

There's a sense of rationalizing though. If someone beats/kills a human, one could argue they themselves were abused, and taking it out another person is how they are focusing their pain and rage. Animals don't abuse people without provocation, so we see them as even more innocent.

Not saying it's right, but I've seen this type of rationalization before. It's sick that someone could take an animal of any type and slaughter them with glee.

******** CK. Dogs can attack and kill babies and toddlers without any provocation whatsoever. And even being abused yourself is not a good enough reason to attack other people. I saw a guy the other night get slapped by his girlfriend so he decided to vent his anger by attacking random passerbys.

But anyway back to the topic, this sort of stuff makes me sad too but I can't believe the Internet is surprised by this sort of stuff. Farmers drown kittens all the time so they're not overrun by undomesticated cats, last night I was with a boy who mentioned that his barn cat had kittens so they drowned them, and my next door neighbours cat was adopted from a different farm that was also going to drown it. I mentioned to the boy that I would've taken in his kittens but still, I wasn't surprised by it.

It's just stupid that there's all sorts of bad **** happening to humans on the net but even the "Internet vigilantes" don't give a ****. Heck even one of the guys mentioned in that article had the legal right to shoot and/or kill other humans in the Army but he was thrown out for killing a puppy? Wtf?

why does everyone assume I'm always trying to make some insightful talking point or starting a debate? I'm not an intellectual. I was asking a simple question because your one sentence was very vague you crusty douche.

I'm sure your referring to pit bull attacks, and nearly every single one of those cases are cases where the owner bred the dogs for aggression.

Yeah mostly it's aggressively bred dogs but even with a quick Google search you'll find some of the rare cases where it's not.

This is so cruel.
What is becoming of the human psychological control? I mean really? What reason would you become so mentally disturbed that you'd be insane enough to throw live animals into a river?

Both my parents come from rural backgrounds, so the sort of thing you describe is not unheard of to them. If anything, it's viewed as a mercy killing because the kittens/puppies would probably starve to death otherwise. The decision to cull depends on what resources they have to take care of their animals. In some places, spay/neutering services are unavailable or expensive.

Their animals were also considered work animals, not pets. Even cats and dogs are used to either catch pests or guard the house.

I think that a lot of people who don't have that background may succumb to this hair-trigger emotional gut reaction because they may not have ever had to slaughter their own food.

It's just stupid that there's all sorts of bad **** happening to humans on the net but even the "Internet vigilantes" don't give a ****. Yeah, that's a paradox. But it's probably because human beings come with conditions and strings attached, issues of political boundaries and everything else. Animals tend to trigger people's empathy more because animals aren't members of society and they would never be considered criminals or enemy combatants. They also don't have the ability to tell right from wrong. But one human being killing another is going to be viewed differently depending on the circumstances.

For the record, I'm not condoning what this person did. It's a very sad thing to see. I'm also not trying to argue about human life vs. animal life. It just sometimes gives me pause the extremes of the human capacity for both apathy and empathy.

So now instead of assuming what the assumptions of one person are, you're doing it for "everybody." It was a poorly phrased question and you shouldn't call him a douche for pointing that out.

@ El Nino. Both of my parents come from rural backrounds as well... When I go to visit family in the Phillipines... they usually slaughter a pig for me.

All in all though, I feel like there is a BIG difference between killing for what you need or euthanizing an animal that would otherwise die a long and painful death, and killing for no reason.

Given the circumstances... the former is totally acceptable. Killing for the sake of having fun is just... wrong

That is true.

I noticed in the video that she was wearing a glove on one hand. Makes me wonder if it was related to her job or something.

Well that's pretty fudged up. I've heard of worst though. involving kittens and a lawnmower.

Poor pups, wriggling and whimpering, spinning in the air like a frisbee. Cringed

Little red riding hood got in a time machine, and threw all the puppies into the river before they could grow up into big bad wolves.

That was ****ed up.
That girl had a sinister smile.

some dogs have aggression in their genes.

other dogs, such as loving, loyal, german shepards, love you till death and protect you at any cost. if someone said anything negative about my dog i would not hesitate to knock them out.

and: ^^^^ no prison time at the least?
i think it should be 5 years for each puppy.

You'd knock someone out for talking about your dog? C'mon dude. It's not like the dog is gonna get offended by someone's remark.

And 5 years in prison for each puppy? Jesus! There are too many people in prisons as it is.
