Don't get your hopes raised TOO high now... There hasn't been any real solid information about Nintendo releasing ANYTHING at all.

Yeah we shouldn't expect something cause they haven't said anything on it but there's no hurt in entertaining the idea at least and somethings seem to align with it. Does all that mean we'll get something? No of course not it's only official when Nintendo comes out and announces it some other things in the past seemed to align too and it didn't pan out (*cough* Grinch Leak *cough*) but no harm in entertaining it at least.

If it doesn't pan out? Well that's a shame but we have all these opportunities all the way until February.

Geno or no Geno, it would be such a shame for Nintendo to not have anything to show when they're the main game of the show. Considering Street Fighter has always been in that position until now, I'd like to think they'd entertain the idea.

Then again, SC6, SamSho and MK11 all went by with no announcements. And Nintendo isn't exactly known for playing into tournies too much. Yeah, we got the direct announcement last year, but I honestly feel that was more convenient timing than anything.

Who knows, who knows. Not I.

On the topic of 4chan, it can be a bit of a harsh place at times but I prefer going there over the smug cesspool that is Reddit. If I had the power, I would purge that entire site into extinction.

Reddit isn't that bad compared to GameFaqs or 4chan. But my God, there will always be some smug smart**** in any Sub-Reddit you go to. I remember talking about this very obscure franchise called Ganbare Goemon/Mystical Ninja on the N64 Sub-Reddit and encouraging people there time and time again to check the those games out as they're some of the most underrated games on the N64. After awhile, some of them starting bashing me for talking about the Ganbare Goemon/Mystical Ninja games too much and telling me it wasn't as obscure as I said it was. Ask me, how many of you on here on this forum have ever heard of this series? I'm sure more than 95% percent of you guys don't know what it is. But every day there you see a Ocarina of Time or Conker's Bad Fur Day post and it get's old seeing the same "Look what game I just got!" post. That's part of the reason I left Reddit or at least decided not to post there so often.

I just thought of something that kinda makes me worried...

With hero in and his smashes having the broken random crit mechanic...what if they do decide to give geno the geno whirl , but do a timed hit right and he does 999% damage, basically a 1hko? I’m all for making characters feel close to their games, but just like hero, I don’t like the idea of such a powerful option, especially cuz genos wouldn’t be random but entirely based on players timing, even if it was like a 1 frame only chance.

While you might think that would be crazy for him to do, Sakurai lately seems to be pushing for uniqueness and characters feeling more like they would in their own games, but less about overall balance....hero is a shining example of this...

I mean, I don't think Mystical Ninja is THAT obscure of a franchise (you're clearly a fan, based on the avatar), especially if you're tallking about it on gaming enthusiast sites, forums and threads.

Waluigi would be a cool fighter but his chance is up, imo. If he was going to be an upgraded Assist Trophy, he would've been in the base roster. Besides, even if they were to try and upgrade assists to playable (easy with characters like Shovel Knight and Isaac since their series has characters with similar builds and powers to the former), Waluigi has no Mario series equivalent that has similar powers and body shape. He'd be incredibly hard to replace as an assist.

Yeah, and as long as Waluigi doesn't get any major roles that aren't hijacked by Bowser, there will still be reluctance in regards to including him. Maybe there should be an Operation Eggplantfall?

Playing devil’s advocate here, but, well, this is the thread for a character who’s already a Spirit, so I don’t think an AT is that incredibly far-fetched.

On the other hand, Geno’s Spirit is perhaps the most easily replaceable one of them all, considering that its big, rare effect is just... a flat damage/defense boost. A really quite good one, but still, just a flat boost and nothing else.

I respectfully disagree. Fighter announcements and reveals have been EVO's bread and butter for a long time now. That, and the reason why they only announced the Nintendo Direct for August last year was because there was no way a 20+ minute Direct could fit into EVO's schedule. A character reveal trailer that's 3 minutes maximum however, is a different story.

I never talked about any rumor or leak regarding Geno even the grinch leak during the SSBU speculation because i dont want to get too excited and then get dissapointed and probably because i have dissappeared from this site for like a year and half and barely touched the site.
if I remember correctly the only leak that got my interest to talk about is the one that had Geno and Mallow as duo because i sometimes feel that there so much potential with it.
I could give an example
While Hero has the mechanic of the RPG attack choices and the MP system i think Geno and Mallow as a duo could have a very unique fighting style that has something to do with the classic RPG style that could bring to smash
Think about it what if Geno attack once then it becomes Mallow's turn to attack then it keeps repeating and it becomes like how turn based RPGs games like also having timed hit and perfect spot like in SMRPG battle system i feel the concept is very intersting even though i still prefer a solo Geno and Mallow.
