Which would correspond to 19PM EST. If I'm not mistaken, we got two different killswitches as to when the finals start.

PDT is the same as PST. There's a 2 hour time gap between it and central time, so 10 a.m. PDT/PST is noon in central time

I don't think we can really on sabi at all in this case because if she says she heard anything, we may never hear from her again because of the ninteninjas. With that being said, I find it odd that absolutely nobody has heard anything except for the starling guy, that of course assuming we're getting anything at the end of the tournament. I just want to get to the bottom of the starling image to figure what truly is the story behind the image. Who else could a starling possibly relate to?

Even if it is a reveal like how they did with mewtwo and showed a very early model, I'd be fine. I don't need a trailer or nothing, just a confirmation that it's happening and then I can die happy.

Don't worry, I'm here too. I might not be home to watch Smash Ultimate @ EVO tonight, but know that if we get an announcement there, I'll be celebrating along with the rest of y'all. I personally am expecting an announcement of an announcement at most like we got last year, but at the same time, it feels like all the rumors and Smash being given top billing at the biggest fighting game tournament in the world for the first time ever has to mean something.

Also, to make it clear one last time: SMASH ULTIMATE TOP 8 STARTS AT 7 PM PDT/10 PM EDT. It literally cannot start any earlier than that since every other timeslot is taken up by another game. I dunno about the smash.gg listing going around, but it's wrong. That's precisely when SFV top 8 will be happening.

Fun fact: I woke up at like 4-5AM due to my IBS, spent a lovely time in the bathroom, and then got JUST enough sleep to not be able to fall asleep again when I got back.

That can take between an hour or two, depending on ad breaks.

Joker was revealed around 11:30 PM EST. That’s a far cry from “at least an hour after midnight” and also made sense as it was a bit before the big midnight launch of the game itself.

You have an entirely different interpretation of that video than I did when watching it. It seemed like a much more playful acknowledgement of the possibility, but then he immediately added the, "or maybe it's just a really big fighting game in the last spot" which honestly is something you say when you don't expect an announcement. Not to mention, this was pre-Hero launching too. This is also the first time I've heard of people expecting an EVO announcement outside of here.

Remember when Sakurai said Brawl would be the last game in the series? Look how that turned out. Smash is too popular to die off and as long as it makes money Nintendo will for sure keep it going.

At least in Joker's case it made sense since it was something "nobody saw coming" but with another character making an out-of-nowhere announcement so late it does make it seem that much more unlikely. I would think they would want everyone to know when to watch for another huge fan-requested character instead of another out-of-nowhere announcement that nobody knows for sure is happening.
