I'm sorry but I may have missed something. What's the reason people think Hero's video might get dropped today? Is it just a feeling?
Nintendo almost never does major video presentations past Wednesday unless they were announced beforehand. Realistically speaking, tonight's the last night for a hypothetical Hero presentation for Hero to come out this week.

I thought Joker dropped on Thursday, though? I guess I could be wrong, but I swore it was on a Thursday...

I just checked and that wasn’t the case, actually. I think it was the 17th that Joker was released on and the trailer was the night before. The 16th was a Tuesday, so 3.0 was available on Wednesday.

AHA! So I was right about them being ahead of schedule! That means Hero and Banjo are, for the most part, done, and probably just need testing and finishing touches. This means character 4 may well be in development along with character 5... and who knows what else. They started on Joker in December (late November, more like?), and we're in July, which is the halfway point (to February, the cutoff date). Halfway through this, they finished Plant, Joker, and the bulk of the DQ heroes and Banjo.

It sounds to me like they're just spacing out reveals and releases to keep the hype train at a steady pace, but otherwise... the amount of headway they've made is extraordinary for the amount of time, especially considering how much has to go into the DQ heroes. I can only imagine 4 and 5 are in progress now by the core dev team, while a smaller amount of people are doing finishing touches (supervised by Sakurai) and preparing for bug-testing. If we can have four characters (about three and a half, more like, given Plant's state of nigh-completion in November) in seven months with only two remaining... that leaves a lot of dev time open. However, let's compare this to the fact that Sakurai said that the DLC team grows smaller as they complete DLC. It could easily mean those last two will take longer on account of that.

Whatever the case, it all sounds great... and it gives me hope for B-K to drop in late September or early October like I'm predicting. Gahhhh!!! I'm so excited!
It is indeed awesome to hear this! Maybe a bonus character is possible now...? Maybe...?

Also as a Banjoroos, I feel Banjo will arrive late September. I am going to a wedding around that time. My friend, the groom, is a big Banjo fan. What better way to celebrate than Banjo dropping before his wedding!?

I'm not discounting this week out just yet. Recall that DQ games have been released on weekends since Dragon Quest 3 because of the infamy/how many people skipped school or took work off to get it. It's possible we still might get something no later than Friday this week/Wednesday of next week so let's keep our eyes peeled.

Off topic but, if Geno manages to pull through, I'd love for someone to do an animation or even something in SFM that has him, K. Rool, Ridley, Banjo, and all the previously cut veterans singing this song or Queen's "We are the Champions" together.
Maybe TerminalMontage would be down for something like that.

Or maybe he has his own ideas he'd rather follow through with.

Meh, if there's one thing Nintendo is consistent at, they don't announce anything big at the end of the month. No reason in particular, they just keep doing that. Pretty sure nothing will happen until EVO.

TLDR, pardon my French;

so....side note....my day today just got..."interesting"

Just got some death threats from some asshole in canada, because apparently my phone number has been compromised or something and scammers are using it to make scam calls =/

he left his voicemail with his own actual number...despite calling from a completely different number....?

I'm wondering if this is some elaborate scam itself.

what kinda creeps me out is when I googled his number, it gave me the exact address it came from(supposedly). Who's to say he couldn't do the same with mine? Not even sure how I would report something like this to the police. Since it's from canada and not here in the US...

*ahem* back to Geno discussions...

If Geno gets in, I want TerminalMontage TerminalMontage to do a video about the agony and struggle of watching and waiting for Geno to come back. Similar to the Brawl in the Family Mega Man video
Even simpler; how about an animated version of the Bohemian Rhapsody song's story, but with Geno? No points for guessing who the MAMA is here.

Rosalina's got a gun. She just killed a man. Put the gun against his head, pulled the trigger, now he's dead...

Cool choice, but I think that may be a little too long of a song for an animation.

Actually, it's pulled my trigger.

So now I am just imagining Rosalina holding a tiny Geno and using him a as gun.

Source Nintendo over on Twitter (someone that have a bit of a track record) claims Hero is next week.
Link https://twitter.com/Source_Nintendo/status/1154179808768737281
Nah, this person isn’t credible imo. Just looking through their Twitter feed, they blame info they get wrong on others by saying “it wasn’t my main source” or just getting it wrong (Persona 5 port being revealed in March/April, Battletoads coming to Switch, Metroid Prime Trilogy at E3). The info they get correct is vague and is speculated on before they make a statement (They said the fire starter for SwSh would be a rabbit, but it’s nothing new if you know about the “zodiac theory”, they said Banjo in Smash after Shinobi, November 15th as SwSh release, Joker being revealed in April, the list goes on).

Just my thoughts on why they aren’t credible, take it as you will, though!

What was the exact details of the Zodiac Theory?

Mainly just that fire starters have been all parts of the Chinese zodiac (dragon, rat, rooster, monkey, pig, dog (which is supposed to be Fennekin I guess?), tiger, and rabbit for generation 8).

There's 12 members of the Zodiac. That's 5 different guesses. There's a decent chance they actually had real information for that. That'd be a pretty big coincidence of which one they guessed. Pokemon doesn't really follow any particular order it seems, so if it was a guess, it's actually reasonably impressive on its own.

I'd give them the benefit of the doubt on this one. Rest, yeah. They've got a pretty bad track record.

If Geno doesn't get in, someone has to do a video like this where we wait outside Nintendo HQ but instead of waiting for half-life 3, we instead wait for Geno.

Also, sorry in advance for the saddest cartoon clip in the history of forever...

Things like this make me truly hope that Geno finally gets in.

Yeah, I know they don¨t have the most solid track record, but I thought maybe it could be worth link and all concidering they have been right at the past.

So I have been challenging popular views and ideas of my fellow Geno bros, and I guess I'll challenge yet another one.

Why would you think it's too early to show us Fighter #4 of the FP? We saw Joker in Dec and didn't get him until April. It was essentially over five months before we got Joker, and they need to have them all released by Feb 2020. We got two of them revealed at E3, but other than a Nov Direct shadow drop reveal, all we have is TGA if nothing happens at EVO. Wouldn't it make sense if another FP character was revealed at a Smash Direct announced after Grand Finals at EVO, dated to be Winter like Banjo was Fall, then either save the last one for a Fall Direct or TGA? Like I said in March, they are running out of time, and they like to reveal a character well before their release it would seem (minimum a month if we get Hero as soon as we think).

It actually makes perfect sense for yet another reveal at the biggest fighting game tournament in the world, especially considering Ultimate is the biggest game there.
So this probably doesn't mean anything, but here I go: You remember the release lineup for Smash 4's DLC? Well so far the release schedule for Ultimate's DLC lineup is somewhat similar to Smash 4's. Mewtwo and Joker both being released in April, Hero and Banjo & Kazooie both being announced at E3 like Roy and Lucas, but only difference was the latter was released on the same day they were announced so that really isn't that much of a comparison. So that leaves us to guess when the last two characters for the Season Pass are coming out and I got a idea when they are coming. So Cloud was released in December and Bayonetta was released in February back in Smash 4 so I think the last two SP slots are going to be released in the same months as Cloud and Bayonetta or at least a date very close to theirs. But honestly I am going off of a pattern that probably doesn't mean anything.

Nothing to see, Hitmonlee.

EDIT:
Video for reference.
So if Geno get's in he is going to have a full blown CGI reveal trailer. :)

Edit: Oops, I don't know what happened here. I'll try to fix it. Fixed it.[/QUOTE]

I have no idea what's going on with this post. One of my two quotes keeps getting into the reply quote of the one of the people I'm trying to quote too. Something seems glitchy here.

Actually, you got the roles backwards, but this is still too good.

You know what they say, a broken clock is right twice a day.

Newer fans are already going mad just from waiting a month and a half for Hero (presumably), they'd go insane if they had to wait until February before trying out the fifth character. If it's someone that people actually want, anyway. The wait for Joker seems to have mentally scarred them, so they don't even have patience anymore. They probably wouldn't be so fussy about this if a rough release outline wasn't announced at all. :dk:

That being said, at least your guess is an educated one. There really aren't many release windows they can use, so if this ends up being right, it'll be more due to coincidence than anything else.

My current headcanon is that Geno is like Uatu the Watcher of the video game universe, watching over every video game hero as they triumph over evil and adversity until he needs to interfere when there seems to be no hope. :)

Sakurai just did an interview a couple days ago with Famitsu where he said that Hero is done but was still "balancing" him out with respect to the MP costs of his specials. Looks like Hero is going to have some busted specials, but the MP cost limitation will make it so he can't just spam them. Either way, I expect it won't be long before we get Hero. That said, I could totally see a reveal for DLC #4 coming along with the Hero drop.

If I remember correctly, Source Nintendo claims are usually a week in advance from what actually happens? I remember an instance where they claimed the November Direct a week early (might be misremembering) but if that is the case....After EVO is looking good!! :4pacman:

Feels good to know that Ultimate's money-printing sales are actually making more CGI trailers possible. Although the Joker trailer didn't hurt too.

Sounds legit, I suppose.

Meanwhile, we don't get specific release dates because they don't want this to happen: https://twitter.com/KawlunDram/status/1154396848884453376

It'd be awesome if Geno's movements end up being robot-like (with stutters), and seeing the glorious Hand Gun, Double Punch, Hand Cannon, and Geno Beam in full HD. :awesome:

So....

Star Road Discord get raided by some loser spamming pings, and I found out that mods on there can't ban anyone.

On top of that, one of the members was insulting other members for talking about it and stating such things.

I've left that dead-as-hell Discord. Nobody ever talks over there like at all, and frankly if it takes a troll to get your Discord active, you are doing it wrong.

The Star Road Discord or the Operation Starfall Discord? I have no power in the SR Discord, but if it's the Operation Starfall Discord, I don't know why the mods wouldn't be able to ban anyone there. That's a hammer that has to be slammed down, especially if it's being raided.

I'm going to guess it's the Star Road Discord, though. It does get some activity, and the list discussion stuff is nice, so I can't be sure why you say it's 'dead-as-hell'. For Starfall's Discord, it's more that the Discord is for planning purposes and batting around ideas. Discussion isn't quite as hopping there because it isn't exactly a place for chill, random conversation like Star Road is.

I'll go to Discord now and see what's happening. If it's not on Starfall's server, though, then I'm not able to be of any help. :( I have no mod/admin powers there.

EDIT: Yeah, just peeked and it's Star Road, indeed, and not Starfall's. I can't be of any help there at all. I'm so sorry!!

Well, one advantage of forums is that they don't turn into a turd nearly as quickly, since posts don't upload too fast. Still a shame that this happened though.

What is it with trolls annoying everyone as the only viable way to pass the time?

The Metals never bothered me since not only are they super common in Smash alone, but some fighting games go that route(Flying Dragon), while other games can use them in various ways(Mario Party 2). They're just quick padding to the roster. The lack of other characters like Diddy is a bigger issue imo, not that fast characters exist.

The babies are far more annoying and just cheap ways to get more Small sized category characters. They don't add much and even sometimes give the wrong hair. Besides that, the Metals are barely existent in Mario Kart(with Metal Mario and Pink Gold Peach being it. I mean, when they actually starting appearing en masse, I might be getting annoyed. Metal Mario was individualized in both Smash and Dr. Mario 64 to some degree, having a way more aggressive attitude than Mario ever did. This was kept in Mario Kart. Pink Gold Peach does come out of nowhere, and feels like a poor equivalent to Baby Daisy and Baby Rosalina, both of which I'd be more than happy with being cut. Same with some of the other random power-up characters. I do like stuff like Dry Bowser, though. They feel a bit more notable in comparison. And far more popular too. I mean, they could've just put in a Baby Yoshi for Baby Peach's partner instead).
Man I remember the flying dragon metal bosses... Some of them were BS but generally very enjoyable

Just curious...
If you got the chance of having Geno to crossover with another franchise like appearing in a Zelda, Fire Emblem or maybe even Xenoblade (just taking some name of the top of my head).. what would that be and why? For me, it would be Zelda and Xenoblade. Former because I think he could fit the best there (you can make him the Navi/Midna/Fir of that game if you so will) and Xenoblade because of I¨m curious on how he would work in a more steampunk esk aesthetic.

Imagine Geno as a blade in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I could also see him popping up in Final Fantasy pretty easy since he's owned by SE.
