So I had a thought and wanted to get it off my chest. Just something I observed over the course of this speculation from the Starling pic to present.

So the Ambassador dropped this pic on us around the 14th of this month, correct? One thing that was claimed is whenever he does this, his hints usually come to fruition in about a week and a half to two weeks time. The crab was within a week or so, same with the Banjo pics. A lot of us are expecting a Smash Direct (or what have you) after EVO. Now EVO takes place from the 2nd to the 4th of August which we could see this Direct around say either the 6th or the 7th.

Now if this happens, this leaves me with a big question. How did the Ambassador have the foresight to give us such a long heads up? This picture would give us a 3 and a half weeks notice of a Direct if indeed we get one after EVO. That is a whole week or so longer than his normal time of hint giving til fruition.

One thing that was mentioned about the Ambassador is that when you work for Nintendo, you give them a topic/interest of yours and they give a special peek at that thing if such a project is underway.
Example: I like Zelda and they just told me about Link's Awakening ReDux. Apparently, they are announcing it in a couple of weeks.
Now I do not know this guys interests and how this works, but could he have been given a sneak peek at something he REALLY likes from Nintendo? It might explain how he knows something so far in advance then his prior hints. It is something that was on my mind this morning at work.

So a couple days ago, I was in the kitchen getting grab and my eldest nephew Cleighden decided he wanted to write "secret messages" to me and have me right them back (making sure the other didn't see what was written until the paper was given to them). It was basically just really nice compliments to each other. Anyway, I wrote the last one and I wrote "You are a Superstar!" with a smiley star under it and he took it and read it to his mom (my step-sister).

Well when he read it to her, he got stuck on superstar, and he came up with something else. "You are a star...star... Star Hero!"

Sis: "No, that says Superstar."
C-Dawg: "Oh. You are a Superstar!"
Me: "Nah, let's go with Star Hero. That's way cooler."
C-Dawg: "Yeah! Star Hero!"

I feel the wind has definitely changed. With what is a mini drought and just overall waiting for Hero, I think people just don't care what comes lol.

Just playing the waiting game for EVO at this point. It's becoming obvious that Nintendo hasn't changed its habit of announcing nothing important at the end of the month.

Remember when a fake leaker on 4Chan claimed there'd be a Direct at the end of a month, and LaxChris blabbed about it to everyone? Fun times...

It boils down to 3 scenarios IMO
A) Nintendo bated the ambassador and he/she took it. I mean, they did use a supposed game as a leakbait (Star Fox Grand Prix). We also have Steve that looks to be (as of right now) have been leakbait for Banjo.
B) It was just pure misunderstanding.
C) Lady Luck came along and gave him some info sooner than usual.

Hopefully, it's not A or B (especially not A) but it is a possibility after all

These 3 are the most likely scenarios. If I may, allow me to talk through these different scenarios.

A) Nintendo bated him - Its not out of the realm of possibility. Something to consider though, with how careful this individual has been prior, how is it NOW that he got caught and bated? Of course, the answer could be because of Sabi getting a C&D. Nintendo could have figured out WHO her source is.
Now the question becomes, would Nintendo not just fire the person for giving out information? Instead they remain oblivious and decide to feed this one some faulty info? Its hard to say. If memory serves, Sabi wasn't caught up in the Star Fox Grand Prix. The main source (Our guy) never believed it. I cannot say for the Steve bits, but the fact he teased Banjo makes me think he wasn't among the people that shouted Steve in the streets.

B) A simple misunderstanding - I don't think this could be possible. With how careful they have been in the past, I would be hard pressed for this to be a simple "Oops, my bad! This is nothing lol *Dab dab dab dab dab* " This could go to A for these purposes.

C) Luck be a Lady Tonight - Seeing that this guy's track record has been pretty good so far, perhaps he just found the Golden Goose. Got word of something amazing and just HAD to torment/tease us. Currently I feel this is what happened, but still in the dark as to what this ACTUALLY is. As Fatman has said before, he has done this before and just YEETS out of existence.

I'll also say that he's probably not being baited because, looking at everything he's leaked in the past year (even before we became friends), he only reports on things that he has actually seen for himself. Like I said, he probably somehow has access to post-production footage of Direct info or (one scenario I've considered) is that he has a supervisor that's super chill with sharing stuff with him. I honestly don't think the second scenario is unrealistic because, in every job I've had, I've had at least one supervisor who would share things with me that I had absolutely no business knowing but did because we had a good relationship so I find that scenario to be relatable.

You know, thinking about the whole "Geno in a Dissidia" idea, I wouldn't be against Nintendo and Square trying out a more direct Mario and Final Fantasy crossover game if they were ever to work together on a project again. I recall people in the past suggesting such a concept in the past, specifically with it being the world Culex is from. Could be cool to get some fantasy style designs for Mario characters. I think a good example of this idea is the art piece I put in the spoiler(I know it's Mario X Fire Emblem, but you guys get what I mean).

All I personally feel it is too early. The big thing is we just got Hero AND Banjo revealed in one go. However, it isn't out of the realm of happening. If the Starling pic is a smash character hint, then we very well could see our 4th fighter.
