Meat pies are amazing, don't listen to Shaya, he's a silly vegetarian.

Luke said:
if snake is so easy and mk is so hard then it would make sense that only a few mk's would make it to top 8 or even top 16 but alot of mk's make it up there because mk is a really good character and is easier to use when compared to other characters (that doesnt make him easy in high level play, it just makes him easier, difference).
Difficulty is irrelevant. If it's possible, then someone will master it, period. However easy or hard Meta Knight or Snake are to use is meaningless, moreso the higher up the level of play gets. Popularity is relevant. The many more players picking up MK because they like him, or for whatever other reasons (fame? sex? money? power?), is going to have a much greater impact on tournament results. The fact that a character is difficult to use is not going to stop anyone maining them if there's enough potential. Just look at Ice Climbers - arguably one of, if not the hardest character to use in the game, and yet is currently dominating tournament results and moving up the tier list rapidly, even with only one or two true pros.

For the record (this part is more directed at Bowyer), I also went to Genesis and Evo with the other Australians and played my share, and while I already knew Meta Knight was by far the best character in the game, the depth of it never really sank in until I played the likes of Dojo and other pros. Rather than simply taking it as more proof that MK was broken or whatever though, it inspired me to drop all my secondaries and pick up MK in their stead. :)

Actually, Bowyer invading this thread with his awesome couldn't have come at a better time; the past few pages I've found quite helpful, tbh I wasn't really sure of where to start with learning Meta Knight. :p

Luke, sorry if I came off as rude, that was not the intent. :3

I write too much. :(

XD... I'm preemptively sorry for any lives I ruined by giving my advice here :( lol

I wouldn't be surprised though if another character starts beating MK after their metagame progresses.

nah dude you didnt come off as rude, just silly because although that was a good arguement and all it was completely irrelevant because we were discussing wheter or not snake is harder to use then meta, and I'd like to know how difficulty is irrelevant to a discussion about difficulty ;)

also meat pies are amazing, shaya's never had one so he wouldnt know, why dont you give your opinion on sex next shaya?

oh I am so mean

but yeah I really enjoy fox and have been playing him more and more lately to the point where I dont wanna play snake at all and would rather main fox, but first I need to work on the basics abit more, and also I havnt even watched this video everyones going on about because I'm always on these boards at work where youtube is blocked :(

but I'll deffinetly hit you up for some advice at some point dude so thanks heaps for the offer.

Luke - Well you were relating their difficulty to their tournament placings, I figured what I said was at least somewhat relevant in that respect. :<

Bowyer - ICs are the best character in the game imo, they'll end up at the top, I may be biased cause they're so cute and cuddly though. D:

steak pies...

great invention, or greatest invention?
steak pies - great invention

steak, bacon and cheese pies - greatest invention

maybe I'm wrong in the technical sense, but steak pies and meat pies are not the same thing, both are good though and cheese in pies is good when done right but you can get some mad stuff like redwine marinated meat pie thingos something that is really good.

I still want a meat pie.

For those that think MK is easy to pick, yea he is!

In friendlies! It still took me quite a while to adjust with him, a lot of you dont realize that MK has options, and SINCE he has options players tend to play him incorrectly. You might win out of the sheer power of dsmash vs a random but a player higher in caliber won't die until later. Once you get used to having options you have to learn which option is the correct one, not the "best" one. Not many characters have that in brawl. Some have options on the ground, some in the air but usually not good ones in both.

I agree with Luke though, snake is harder to use, you must ALWAYS DI up, or you'll get spiked/grabbed or you'll have to C4 jump. The spacing is weird, jabs are too short, if you whiff ftilts you get punished, uptilt is hard to land on good people. Motorslide is not as good as we all thought. Grenades are absurdly difficult to use CORRECTLY, c4 controls space but what good is it if you're just throwing it out randomly? And the list goes on.

My point is, no character is "easy" to play with, just because you copy what you see on youtube vids and win doesn't mean you KNOW how to play the character. Do you even know why you're doing what you're doing? No. You're just copying. While this isn't entirely the case ALL the time, it applies quite often. Especially on people that pick up MK to beat other MK's.

For example with luigi, you still have to learn his spacing, resets, edge guarding and so forth. When to fireball, when to nair, when to uptilt, matchups. Same thing. Snake and MK are better characters BUT they still require you to learn them.

Realize that we're talking about the difficulty of using the character Correctly, not WINNING with them.

The hardest difficulty higher tier chars to use probably looks something like this:
Snake
Diddy
MK
Marth
D3
wario
Falco

Rough estimate and the lower end of list doesn't mean they're Easy to use.

All of this on high level play of course.

shaya is on the money there, milo is pretty good.

australia doesnt really have its own "food" so to speak, but it was sad to see that they dont
do burgers like we do, big massive burger with a good old homemade meat pattie and then lettuce, tomato, mayo, bacon, egg, chese, beetroot (cant remember what america calls beetroots, beets maybe?) sometimes pineapple although I dont really like pineapple on my burgers.

if you ever go to outback steakhouse, that is NOT accurate in anyway, but if you do go, ask for outback sand ;)

American burgers are pretty wierd lol.

But then again, some are good.

You guys didn't go to Cheeseburgers in Paradise when you were over there, which is kinda sad.

They make imo prolly the best burgers around. And I know my cheeseburgers lol.

This.

AND THIS!!!! steak, bacon and cheese pies are the best. Also, chunky steak pies.

Fun fact: in NZ, steak pies are called mince pies, and chunky steak pies are called steak pies.

Wouldnt believe how hard it was for me to find a chunky steak pie when i first got here >_<

Yes. Steak bacon and cheese is amazing.

Meat pie = any pie with meat.

Varioations include steak pies and BEEF pies. Both are meat pies.

Steak pies tend to be chunkier with larger bits of steak, whereas beef pies are generally mince.

Good cheese goes well with any pie.

I lol'd at the apology. Hylian had to lock the thread after 22 pages of hype and wondering what it was.

Looks pretty cool AND situational (as was pointed out). But it still makes one wonder what else might be possible if we just keep looking.

Its nice to have new AT's which dont render characters unviable / new infinite combos / make brawl worse than it already is.

CF is easy
he is like
grab
dash grab
jab > grab
fast fall nair only first hit > grab
then once u got the grab going u use your f-throw and d-throw follow ups.
which are dash attack > jab > grab and up-air x10,000!.

air dodge is major fail point of captain falcon combos =P

Air dodge isn't as big of a deal as you think. Just rethink your postioning and how soon you're committing to using an attack. Try to figure out a position that you can punish them if they air dodge and you can still punish them on landing or in the air if they don't air dodge. A really good strat that most people don't do enough is trying to force an air dodge in such at a way that you leave yourself in a neutral position (meaning you aren't in the middle of an attack) when their air dodge is about to finish.

Oh my god, steak, bacon and cheese pies = greatest invention, agreed, period, kthx.

And to all this talk about MK being easy... I don't know what you're on about.
I've tried using him and I get slaughtered.
I'm much better with slower characters like Peach or Ike. c: Or even Marth, not sure if he'd be considered 'slow', but to me he is, lul.
And I wanna main Fox, too. He's so kyoot. And... not that sexy, but his red costume is pretty sexy, and his black one.
Gad dayum, I want to go to a tournament and actually place somewhere so what I have to say actually has any meaning whatsoever.
... Actually, meh.

Vegemite? BAD?!
Yeah, I thought it was bad.
I only like it on toast, and not much.
What's wrong with a meat pie, wtf. XD

For some reason, I think the air-dodging in Brawl is much better than in Melee.
Well, not 'better', but it's so much more easy to predict.
And with the momentum you're only going in one direction.
WHICH IS WHY IKE IS SO BROKEN!
CONSTANT READING = CONSTANT SMASHES!!!
INSTADEATHHH!

Ugh my tummy hurts.

zzz so you say snake is harder 2 learn than CF... thats why CF is placed so high on the tiers lol
i guess i am just more suited to mindgames with anyone but kas =P hes got 2 much tech to back up his mind games, esspecially his falco in brawl.

MK can attack and flee.. its hard to punish his lag -,- well from my exp anyway... also shutterloop broken
