Why even bother going lol, the two communities practically have completely different views on the way Smash is played.

I'm surprised it even got in this year considering all the hype around when they first announced it without Smash.

How can we count other tournaments now that Genesis has come and gone?

Considering it was probably the most accurate/highest attanded tournament to date, shouldn't that mean that all data comes and goes from that tournament until a bigger one comes around?

What I really want to know is how MikeHaze placed better than DSF.

Anyway, if Genesis is the final tournament to end all tournaments as far as the debate goes, then the 5/8 MK dominance criteria was not met, and so we will never see a ban. (Unless somebody finds a way to do the tornado infinitely, or an infinite on all characters or something dumb)

Evo Smash was run by AllisBrawl, who partnered with Evo to make it happen. It was run by the Smash community. It was the straight-up no items, fox-only, final destination **** we all know and love. And some of us happen to actually play other fighting games, so it's not like there was no reason to go lol.

I don't understand why other tourneys shouldn't count just because Genesis was massive. Genesis simply has a greater weight than other tourneys, not complete invalidation. btw, Genesis wasn't THAT much larger than the previously-largest tourney (like a 20-person difference).

Isn't it a bit hypocritical to say MK should be banned based on Evo's results right after saying Genesis is the only tourney that counts?

As it happens, after Genesis and Evo, there is practically no argument to ban MK anymore. It is my understanding that SBR-B were going to ban MK if Genesis had 5 or more MKs in the top 8; it had 3, and MK didn't even win. Evo was won by an MK, but that MK was the ONLY MK in the top 8. I bet that sure shut them up. :3
