One thing you gotta love with A2's Ganon, is how often he uses a garantueed
follow-up after a Gerudo.

Everytime I miss a Gerudo-Techchase after a Gerudo, I ask myself:
"Why didn't I buffer a garantueed attack instead?"

I dunno what to say about my choke game to be honest. I know that my choke game is slightly different offline as opposed to online because I can't really buffer Flame Choke -> iDA online.

I guess my philosophy on Flame Choke is relatively simple. Flame Choke D-tilt usually is good enough to set up a juggle situation or score cheap damage to set up for a KO with a different move. But if you're looking for an early KO or a potential 50+ combo, Flame Choke -> techchase D-air is good if they roll inwards, and you're still at a slight frame advantage if they don't pick that option. If they stand normally or roll away, I'll try to score extra cheap damage with a Flame Choke regrab. I know my strategies have a ton of room for improvement.

The main thing that I think is still not used quite enough is B reverse Flame Choke, which can be used as a substitute for pivot grabbing (run away from your opponent's approach, and B reverse Flame Choke when they whiff). Also for fun times, run towards someone who is near the edge, and if they roll inwards, B reverse Flame Choke (push them off the ledge with Dash Attack if they shield).

Also, I'm loving Koskinator's old mindgame a lot at the moment. Run forwards, stop and turn around, then Flame Choke them if they do a spotdodge on reflex.

I love that you're mentioning this.

Even if we didn't land a garantueed attack,
frame advantage gives you a mental advantage, which leads to mindgames > capitalize.

We Ganons Main are a bunch of greedy ****s.
We seek ways to garantuee a follow-up on Marth, Lucario and Falco.

And on the characters we DO have a garantueed attack on,
we seek ways of dealing more damage / Chain Ckoking.

Yt won't let me watch the "Demon Ganon" video cause it's set to private. Do I need to be a Ganon main to see it or what?

You did post them in here a whole while ago.
I think its unnecesary to tell that he's 32d on the ladder. its a joke ladder and his reports don't tell a lot of very good things.
http://allisbrawl.com/ladder/history.aspx?id=58045

"fix your lag bro ggs nice wario"
"horrible lag... basic wario"
"Your connection is garbage, and you keep doing **** that would never work offline."
"ggs really laggy."
"wifi kills"
"bad lag"
"Red dot connection. Not doin that lagfest again. ggs I guess"
"Terrible lag, terrible wario. I'm NEVER playing you again. /blocks"

Fun fact: The dude ***ing destroyed my Ganondorf a while back right before Z1gma posted those videos.

Z1gster, you're soooooo good at punishing edgeguards with that dair :o
Why, thank you, sir Tero.
... Im actually better at punishing edguarding ppl with it, than I am at spiking ppl while I'M edgeguarding THEM :scared:

Doomfire, I know.
Ladder is a Lag Fest.

Still wanted to throw it in, so that ppl understand he's better than what
it appears in match #1, where I **** him.

And you don't think ppl play to lose just because it's not a Price Ladder, do you?

He and I have a green dot connection.
Probably between 6 and 8 frames of delay, and no lag.

He and ppl from US/Canada should have a delay around 25 frames, though,
so I can understand ppl get frustrated..
Yuck...

As for me, I'd never even consider playing ladder.
The heavy delay and Freeze Lag would make me throw up a little in my mouth.

Nah not really. I just thought it was unnecesary that Z1gma listed that Zelderu was 32'd on the ladder, but he explained that it was to not make him look as bad as he seemed in the first game.

Yeah I already noticed the comment on the 3d match on SV too.
Its also like that that a lot of players don't want them getting defeated by Ganondorf up too. Its so sad Vermanubis has to hide names to make sure he doesn't get namesearched. It all sucks so much. Ganondorf isn't only the worst character of the game its even hard to get vids up of him doing good without the argument of the other player being bad being brought up.

As Vermanubis and I both attended Polybrawl a little over a month ago, we combined our forces and put together this match of epically **** proportions (yeah, it was a friendly, but the stuff we pulled off was hilarious)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MVuXVXly7g

A friendly we ditto we played at Polybrawl.

We entered doubles as a team, and I have one of the matches herebut Windows Movie Maker is being dumb and won't let me save my videos anymore, so I have to figure out what's with that. Otherwise enjoy the footage from PolyBrawl.

I also have Ganon footage from someone with a tag of DRK, but I don't know who that is. Can someone vouch for this?

Oh, DRK is Rated D.R.K., he's another NY Bowser main.

I think the Ganon footage might be me vs him, but if not then...yeah. -.-

If Bowser is involved in any way, upload it lol

LOL what do you mean we didn't win the doubles match? WE LANDED FOUR WARLOCK PUNCHES. Stocks become irrelevant at that point!

Also, I couldn't stop laughing at our singles match. The first 30 seconds was nothing but grabs and downthrows.

Where do you get four Warlock Punches from? I do agree, though, that the stocks were irrelevant, although if one of us landed that hit in the end, I don't know what I would have done.

@Limit- there's one match between your Bowser and DRK's Ganon. I do go back to school tomorrow, so I'll do my best to record the match and upload it tonight. If I can't do that, it might take me a while.

Hmm it's hard to judge much from that video... Z1G did a good job reading and predicting, but it seemed like his punishes were off. The MK really didn't seem to be using any form of spacing, it seemed like a lot of times he kinda just air dodged into Z1G and tried to land a random attack or grab haha. Those are the sweet little gifts that should be unwrapped violently and without remorse, but it seemed like Z1GMA didn't want to rip the wrapping paper.

Z1Gs good reading and offstage game made up for it though. Punishing is pretty hard on wifi, even if there's minimal lag. It actually looked like a lot of the punishes were just late--not nonexistent. I bet it probably has a lot to do with wifi.

You poor Swedes :( I wish I could travel across Europe playing smash with offline-deprived Europeans.

I love getting constructive critique. "Critique" to some is ranting and complaining about everything you did wrong.

Good match. But you could tell it was pretty WiFi-y. When I played RedX offline, he was far more reactive and he did a lot of incredible stupid things in the video, like missing easy grabs, or almost SDing several times. He also seemed very afraid to nab easy edgeguards.

As for you, Kalm, your DI and reactions as usual are great, but there were a lot of occasions where you made strange move choices and were a little inaccurate. What you did use though, you used well, so no huge complaints.

Eh, I played about 6-7 matches with him and he was playing pretty well. I don't have the homebrew channel, I can't record matches over three minutes so that's probably the reason RedX seems to play bad here. And yeah, I do seem to make some very odd move choices as Ganon though, I think it's mainly because of my unique agressive-defensive play style to confuse the opponent.

RedX was telling me about playing you, he commented it as "Ray, you seem a lot more aggressively successful than Vermanubis."

I agree with a lot of things Vermanubis said- you play a strong defensive game and you have the reactions to match it. If I were you, though, I would incorporate more SH Uairs and Bairs when you're hopping around trying to maintain stage control, especially on a character like Ike which you can actually hit with those aerials. A smart player that knows how to land-trap can easily get you in a bind.

Also, I noticed that you made no efforts to camp on the ledge, at all. You hopped from the ledge every single time. RedX could have easily caught on to that and just crush you with a well-timed F-Smash.

All in all, there are some areas in which you're a tad too predictable, but overall, a solid effort. It being Wifi skews things a bit, though, but shouldn't detract from the overall effort.

Well, you do have a fairly unique style, but by "odd" I meant more that I questioned why you'd use BAir off platforms instead of NAir and things of the sort. But Clai's right, while you do have a great defense game, you set yourself up for a lot of land-traps and other nasty things. I'd like to see you play against a competent high/top tier main offline, so I could compare the two.

Also, Kalm, be a bit less childish. Learn a little grace. If we're going to wage war with words, I could bring up some comments I've heard in my favor, too. But that's not how competition works. Not to mention, I don't entirely believe Red said that, mainly because we only played two matches.

I pretty much agree with what everyone has said so far... your Ganon is kind of an anomaly. You have a unique move choice that no one else really thinks of, but once you do the move, it makes sense in a Ray Kalm sort of way. Just make sure to mix it up if people start to catch on though.

Also, consider posting videos where your opponent doesn't SD. If you played 7 matches, I'm sure there was at least one better match to post for critique. I know you don't have homebrew, but most of the time, if there's only one match that's less than 3 minutes in the entire 6-7 game set, it's probably going to be the silliest match of the set. It's not really fair to post it just for the sake of getting a match on youtube.

Not to say that a 3 minute match can't be a good match; but in this particular game, Red only took about 270 damage, partly because of an early wifi SD.

edit: ask Red how my Ganon is next time you fight him :p

I may not be the best Ganon but he is wicked fun to use. It needs more death, murder and better editing but I thought fellow Ganon mains may appreciate at least some of it.

Hi. Ganon wrecks me. A lot. :[

I actually did say Kalm's Ganon seems more aggressively successful than Verm's, but that doesn't mean better as a whole. >.> I'm not the type to say who's better than who. lol
Just meant that as a way to compliment a unique style.

DLA is a big fat wifi Ganon. :smirk:
