I find u-smash just generally less reliable than other things. It's more prone to edgecancels and doesn't even produce a tech chase at like 35%+ if they jump iirc. I feel his other tools are therefore stronger because keeping Falcon close to you at disadvantage is really strong because his defense is meh aside from being heavy.

I won't condemn anyone for using it as their go to though. The 18% immediate damage and heavy launch are very alluring traits.

I think this just revitalized my interest in playing Fox/this game

edit: question: if you drill on Jigglypuff's shield is she able to rest OoS? Should she be able to?

I haven't been able to pull it off yet, but I've come close. It's actually pretty rare for people to go that deep onto shields, unfortunately.

You can shine her before she grabs you after your drill. You're -6 on her shield and grab takes 7 frames.

Still, if you drill her shield you might as well
Go behind her

interesting. I never really knew whether that stuff works or not. i've never seen a jiggs camp shield against fox..that seems dangerous.

however, i will now spam drill on jiggs shield every time i see it. it sounds fun

nope.

and realizethat the fox knows exactly when hes gonna land (because of fastfall etc) but the jiggs does not, so that makes it even harder

also any competent spacie in the puff matchup (so like noone) would just shine while holding down forward so that the DI is guaranteed, grab or no grab.

It's kinda the beauty of it. We can play nearly entirely on feel. Don't have to study anything or practice the same bnb combo a thousand times.

You don't gotta know **** about the game to know **** about the game.

Like even if your brain doesn't know frame data, your heart knows frame data.

I think that makes sense.
