Florida T.O. MK Ban/nerfing Discussion Thread.

The other REALLY shelfish reason i dont want mk banned YET is if he is banned before genesis, im gona be out of practice with my main, and be rusty at genesis itself.

Sure my rob is gona be beast or w.e. but that wont mean much in a tourny swiming with mks.

Since we dont wana fall behind to the norm (the norm beingoutside, outside being genesis) i dont think we should play around with banning him just yet, just to make sure fl's mk meta game doesnt fall behind, either on the mk's side, or one the side of the one figthing mk....

This is really reasonable.

We shouldn't even consider banning MK on a wide scale until after Genesis. Banning him occasionally at smaller orlando tourneys would be cool though.

Btw Im currently against the ban, and I'm for people just picking up High/top tier characters instead...

I have no idea... I'm completely neutral on the whole ban/no ban thing. :ohwell:

...I wonder. Will people intentionally NOT use Meta Knight at Genesis so that he won't be banned? :dizzy:

hmM why orlando??? hardest MK's for me to fight are hrnut/Rx- but i dont mind fighting them with snake/wario lol.
And hrnut used kirby at the gamezone tourny against Rx- :]

Just because it has the most "generic" tourneys that people go to. Ban him in SFL/Tally tournaments and nobody would really notice.

Dude, read my posts. I'm not up for banning MK.

I'm just pointing out counter arguments.

There are alot of top tier chars that can b used extremely gay. Its brawl and I kno that.

For me 2 use MY TOURNEY RESULTS IN WHICH NOT EVERY1 HERE WOULD KNO ABOUT WOULD B SIMPLEMINDED. I WAS TALKING ABOUT RESULTS FROM WHOBO, A TOURNEY MOST OF US WOULD KNO ABOUT.

But more importantly, FL doesn't really have an MK problem. But I would B interested in seeing U B gay @ tournies and winning w/ Wario. Hell I'd feel better about this game if that was the case. The poin is, I wanna see people get better w/ out MK. But in the end for that 2 happen would mean to sacrifice MK practice.

So I say ban MK for like a month after Genesis(Which is prob a big tourney although I have no idea what it is) JUST 2 SEE HOW IT GOES.

If not then lets keep MK and move on...

EDIT: AND PLAY MELEE IN THE MEANTIME :laugh:


Also,

when and where are FAST, FL Gaming and Genesis?

MK shouldn't be banned. People are finding plenty of ways around him, (since almost everybody plays him). I will admit he is difficult to get around, but its not at the point that if you pick MK you can almost always win.

I've seen plenty of matches where a mid or low tier character has gone up against MK and have held their own. Plus, the game is only a year old and there are still plenty of exploits to be found.

If we're going to talk about banning, what about them Ice Climbers? That's a one slip **** up and you're dead! :laugh::laugh: Just Kidding

but I'm against the MK ban

I vote for the ban. I feel that having an MK-less metagame would lead to not only a more fun, but more healthy community.

I'm stuck between yes and no. Personally, I enjoy having MK in the tourny scene. I enjoy seeing all the character boards being creative and thinking out of the box to beat MK. Also, he doesn't seem as a bigger threat as he used to be seen. He is exploited and he has no secrets, but that doesn't change that he is the best character in the game. He dominated the tourny scene from the start and will more than likely will continue this throughout the years. So, having him ban will make the winners have a diversity and more of the community would be healthier. But, banning him would basically put all of our time and effort into beating him go to waste. Also, its only been a year, but a year is enough when a character is ****** everthing.

Asss much as i hate playing against mks i kindaa think he shouldnt be banned but im still 50/50..

I just see people switching to D3/snake more which is toooo bad if mk was banned..

i just see alot of d3s in my head if Mk was banned. thats just me though :p

Grow up and adapt... or just continue to get wrecked...

My character (Wario) has an incredibly lame (I'm not gonna say "bad") matchup with D3 and I may john or even whine about it every now and then but you just gotta deal with it or pick up another character (like Falco for me) to deal with it...

I'm surprised people didn't learn anything from when the community wanted to ban MK like 4 months ago. They only complain about MK when M2K keeps on winning tournaments consecutively. If M2K didn't exist, we wouldn't be having this come up again. People have a secret motive, they want to ban MK so they can win the tournament and the money.

I main MK, and it's not an auto win for me for the tournaments I go to. MK should not be banned. -_-

I'd advise you talk to Xyro, she turned me from antiban to pro ban, and in the largest tournament organizer in Texas.

I already read Xyro's thread. He worded it out good. I think he's a respectible dude, but mainly the pros that did go, all mained MK or secondaried MK, it's not like Ally, Azen, Anther, Atomsk, ADHD, and other peoples went to that tournament, if they did the results would be very different. Wow, they all start with the letter "A".

The thing is, there are many other examples of major tournaments, some where other large names go, and Metaknight still pulled out on top.
I'm no where near as informed as him, and remember only being HOBO 11.
Though, if he gets fair show out at Genesis, and he does not flood the finals, then I will give way and let him stay for good.
Unless late he becomes even greater. (which is possible)
Really, everything hangs on that one tournament, trouble is, everyone knows that, so I wonder how metaknight players will respond, will they not show up? will they be pressured? Will overswarm pay people to main metaknight for no reason?

Xyro isnt the most respectable dude around. XD

I like him, but judging someones post content due to that is a bad idea.

I don't believe Xyro on the MK ban thing. I'm just saying, other than that he's a good dude, cause it takes alot of work to host big tournaments like HOBO. That's why I respect him even though I don't agree with the MK ban.
