I noticed swords that glow fire red in certain vids.

Is there a way that I can make them have an ice type look.

Sakurai claims to have personally balanced this game in an interview. Take that as you will.
The game would have been pretty balanced if it had L-canceling, which I believe it originally did. Taking that out screwed everything up though. Not that it would have been as balanced as say, Melee or 64, but it would have been in that neighborhood at least.

Well I'm just thankful that Brawl+ already has achieved more balance than either Melee or Smash 64.
If the programmers here had Melee balance as their goal we would have been done so long ago XD

The fact that an entirely viable cast is as close as it is is amazing, especially when you factor in the fact that all of this work has still kept the most important part of Smash: matchups and counterpicks.

Matchups and counterpicks are hardly the most important part of Smash.

It's mindgames.

If characters were balanced so that matchups and counterpicks didn't matter, just the mindgames people use for each character's playstyle, I'd be perfectly happy.


But yeah, it's good to see the progress in character balance that has occurred thus far. I'm amazed the developers were able to screw up the balance so hard (seriously, what were they thinking with MK? Even in the preview builds of the game people who tested it knew that he was broken). I guess it just takes a few hacks and a dedicated community to get things right.

Hahaha, once I get the stuff I need from Pizzaboy Starter Pack Beta 2 shall soon be....GOOOOOOO!!!

In the meantime I've been doing testing for the Old Skool Pack and submissions. I found a glitch that allows you to make no ledges grabable at all. I'm trying to figure out a way to instead target a particular ledge on a block to make it not grabable. Ideas?

mindgames isn't to useful while playing online though.

Today I lost a stock to Toon Link's Dair.

I was playing Samus, and being edgeguarded. The curve was slightly lipped, so he timed a DAir against the edge (the hitbox descends through the lip, meaning you can spike people as they come up).

Anticipating this, I recovered such that I was level but to the side of the ledge (near to it but within snap range, instead of next to it).

The momentum effect that TL's Dair has knocked me back half an inch away from the ledge, without the move itself hitting me. I tumbled pitifully to my death.

Despite the pain and sorrow I feel for your loss, I must say that had I seen that, I would have thought it one of the most epic things ever.

I got killed by the wind puff of a shiek's upB during a MM at a tourny a few weeks ago Q.Q

I think the most brutal wind kill is dieing off the top from G&W's Uair. You know you messed up BADLY when that happens to you.

Haha very funny, Generalized Super Code... no wonder nobody paid any mind to this code. :laugh:
I could probably edit it to only let you cancel taunts, but then taunts would always be safe.
