I'm pretty sure no matter how much you know the matchup, nerves still kick in a lttle bit when you're fighting DAIGO UMEHARA

I wouldn't blame him

I finally discovered the magic of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars. It's a real shame this game died out. I actually like it better than Marvel. It's much better designed in comparison. Baroque canceling feels like it requires much more skill than X-Factor, and it has tangible drawbacks. Does anyone here own the game? I'd like to try playing it with someone.

Have some screenshots with 9x anti-aliasing and 16x anisotropic filtering running at 720p:

Yeah, I have it, and it's a good game. Unfortunately, TvC is pretty much dead though, and the Wii's online is pretty lacking. Plus, I haven't played that game in years.

I'm afraid that I'll have to pass.

I think the main thing that killed TvC is that it was on the Wii as opposed to 360 or PS3. Like, if it was on those systems I think it would've been a lot bigger.

Game was fun in its own way but it had its fair share of dumb stuff like Baroque and Mega Crash (it's more tolerable than XF and TACs though). Air dashing was a little too good in this game (relative to how they are in other games). Giants made the game a little unfun to play which kind of hurt the small scene.

Game had some really cool designed characters regarding playstyles and UAS did fix a lot of issues CGoH. I just felt like the game was a weird attempt from Capcom by trying to feel like other air dash fighters, but it just felt really off.

Awesome people still remember TvC. I think it's probably the best fighter out there. Nice balance, good mechanics and it's still kinda simple. Such a shame that it died. Marvel is much worse with all the bull**** Xfactors and missiles...

I wouldn't say TvC is the best fighter out there. Not even "probably the best fighter out there." I would say that it's a good game though.

The balance is actually not that great. Zero is too safe, Yatterman-2's damage is absurd, too many mediocre characters that no one really tapped into, and Gold Lightan was garbage. As far as mechanics go, they're fine, but nothing special, just stuff lifted from other versus fighters and airdashers.

Zero is safe yeah, but only does damage in the corner and dies in one combo. And heavy damaging stuff is not such a big deal with BBQ and mega crashing around. There aren't really dominant characters who lack any sort of a weakness imo. Sure there are crappy chars like Lightan, but he is probably the only one who isn't viable.

I'm so enjoying TTT2 right now! The online is damn near flawless in almost every game I play!

I'm probably going to pick that game up after Christmas because I've heard and seen how awesome it supposedly is and that the online ranks up there with Blazblue/P4A in terms of quality. Though I've heard the online has no thing to separate beginners from experts so there's not a "find people around my skill level" option.

Net code is for the most part great, but I have so-so luck when it comes to blocking lows, but that might just be my execution.

And there is a filter.

I'm still enjoying the heck out of this game. I'm going to drop King for Jaycee. King doesn't feel all that solid while Jaycee is more my style. Xiaoyu's still on point though. I just need to get my evasive skills to something like this since she doesn't have her cartwheel and roll left anymore.

So, taking advantage of a bunch of Future Shop giftcards (including one that was for $40 instead of $25 and one that had $25 on it when I thought it had $2 left) I picked up Tekken Tag 2, Soul Calibur V, and a $20 PSN gift card for essentially a grand total of $0 (letting me now get Mass Effect 1) so it's a good day indeed.

Video of some of the SFXT characters are up for Ryu, Marduk, King, Julia, Ibuki, and Akuma. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnJYUs2wpsOJNi9KlylSrdlDFHmOKI-uM
Some changes I like such as lower frame advantage on certain moves (jabs, DPs), backdash distance shorted for Julia, 2 frame extra on Julia's super start up, and Akuma's jump back fireball and teleport nerf. Some I don't agree with like Julia's health nerf and Ibuki's j.HK. Some I just don't get like Ibuki's EX kunai. I might give this game a shot again though. Half of the dumb stuff looks fixed.

Also, Evo lineup should be announced on Wakeup SRK real soon (at 7 PST).

Speaking of that lineup, I know you know my thoughts on how mind-blowing it is Teczero, since we were talking over AIM during it, but what do the rest of your guys think? And in case you missed it, the lineup is:

UMVC3
AE2012
TTT2
MK9
SFxT
KOFXIII
P4A
Community Choice game

Last one should be Melee, just to round everything up nicely.

Got a question about keeping scenes alive. My state's scene has a few problems. We're all too spread out and no one is willing to give other games besides Marvel a chance for very long as they usually get their ***** handed to them. Apparently, some of us have tried getting together at people's houses only to have stuff stolen - though I think this is New Orleans being New Orleans. We also have some negative old school mentalities amongst the veteran players (including my "nemesis") like constantly putting down new players without so much as some guidance.

It seems the only way things stay alive is if you've got drama between people which to me is not good outside of pregame trash talk. So, I'm left pondering as to what can I do to help things out or anyone for that matter.

I think the lineup is perfect as far as current supported games go. If I had it my way, Player's Choice would be either Guilty Gear or Vampire Savior.

CvS2 would be nice as well. Only reason why I'd prefer the others is CvS2 is a very mainstream Capcom game. I'd rather see other games take the spotlight for the main stage. If it made it in, I would enter though.

Also, P4U being in is almost a call out to anime players. You guys better go unless you want our status to be like Smash status.
There will be side games as well anyways if P4 isn't your main game.

Minato with the callout. Lmao.

I dunno. I may still go to EVO anyway despite a lack of Smash. Just means I actually have to purchase and play other games.

Yeah, that's very true that a game that's not a Capcom game making the 8th one would be nice for sure.

I also agree about the idea of it being a call-out to the Airdasher community. But...then again, I've been doing long posts and comments and things to try and get the community to be more supportive and united over on SRK and DL for a bit now, so obviously I kinda would, lol.

I just realized. This is donation based.

The bronies will make sure Fighting is Magic is at Evo. It'll either win or get very, very close.
