I just realized. This is donation based.

The bronies will make sure Fighting is Magic is at Evo. It'll either win or get very, very close.

Well of course it will if that's the kind of defeatist attitude people have. I have to admit though, the anime scene as a whole kind of sometimes has a tendency to be defeatist in its mindset.

I would love to go to Evo, but I also have to support the local FG scene and most of money generally goes to travelling to those events.

I'll have to see how things work out.

You make it sound like 4chan is willing to throw money at something.

Also, there's nothing to stop Sony or NetherRealm from tossing a donation in at the last minute to have PS All-Stars or Injustice as the eighth game.

Aye, I've been trying to support all the Ontario stuff (and MTL too since it's close enough distance wise) whenever I can anyway. Still, all these people (not just from here, MTL and TO are planning on going as far as I know) planning to head to EVO is both awesome and makes me kinda sad, lol. Not gonna lie, if NRS wants to donate a bunch of money to get Injustice in as an 8th game then well...it's their money and all the more power to them. I do know though that SRK has seen some of the Melee pessimists that think the money won't even go to a charity and kinda think it's silly of them to think that way.

So, anyone going to keep an eye on the APEX? I never really followed fighting game tournaments that much, I simply watch videos post-competition from time to time to learn a couple tricks here and there.

Anyway, I keep hearing a lot about it, especially since those guys from ScrewAttack are apparently going (and still haven't finished Goku vs. Superman Death Battle). I looked it up and was a bit disappointed to find that BlazBlue wasn't one of the games on the list. It really is a shame that the game is so underplayed. Imo GG and BB are a Master Class on how to develop a fighting game properly.

It's probably one of the only big Smash-centered events that still exist, atm, so that's what they're sticking to mostly. The other games are kinda bleh, not like EVO hype. I usually watch the whole thing every year, but I'm keeping an eye on P4U and SSBM.

BB is probably out because of the scene. BB has CP coming up, I'm not sure if people want to play Extend atm. I dunno why GG is out, but I guess it's because P4U is the bee's knees of the ArcSys fighters for now.

Was Pokemon there last year? Hyyyype.

Accent Core Plus came out, but the update (+R) has not.

Buuut it's the same version that's been available all along, with the exception of online play, so... it'll probably end up being a side event like it usually does.

I'm pretty disappointed that there are no Road to Evo events in the Northeast (yet California gets two ). I really enjoyed the 25th Anniversary tournament in NYC last year, and I'd like to go to another major.

I think that announcement about MLP not being eligible or whatnot is going to give some people a lot of relief, personally. While I think it honestly does indeed give Melee a halway decent shot, I'm not going to lie and say that I don't think the amount of Wiis/Gamecubes and CRTs necessary for stuff would be a nightmare.

And you honestly think Smashers wouldn't bring their own hardware, Livewire? Not to mention that if Smash is going to be the eighth game for Evo, do you really think the Cannon Bros. are going to sit on their laurels for the next half dozen months and not provide for a game at their own event?

smh

GG's gonna give Melee a run for its money. Stickbug's matching all donations on up to 20 dollars.
So whatever you donate, he'll contribute the same.

Step it up Melee community. Can't complain about hidden numbers and developer/publisher contributions now.

I honestly want GG to win, but Melee would be cool too.

I detect some hate, Minato. It's very faint. Lol
Yes, but mostly towards some of the random posters I've seen in the Melee threads. lol
You've seen the thread, it's hard not to get a headache from some of the posts.

The whole, "we have no chance of winning" wasn't a good showing of how supporting the smash community was. Gaf, SRK, Dustloop, and etc basically got a good laugh out of that thread.

I know exactly what you're talking about. ._. That thread alone makes me ashamed to post here sometimes, haha. Nevertheless, loyalty to the Smash community too stronk. I'd rather embrace the good than the bad that's extant here.

But, yeah. I may throw some dollars at GG. As much as I love Smash, I love GG as much, if not a little more.

What's funny about this is that right before that SRK article went live, I was talking to a friend of mine about the chances of MLP winning. The conversation went like this:

Friend: So, I don't think we've talked about this yet. Thoughts on MLP having a shot at a spot in EVO?

Me: I don't think it has any shot at all. It's one thing to click MLP as a joke on a fan poll, it's another to put your money where your mouth is.
Well **** me, right?

I think you might be misunderstanding me on that. I have zero hate for the Smash community at all. I mean hell, if it wasn't for randomly getting into Brawl when it came out, I would've never gotten into Blazblue, and would've never gotten into all the other fighters I'm into.

Was just trying to play devil's advocate and think that from their perspective they'd probably rather prefer a game that can be run on EVO monitors and PS3s.

I don't even visit any other place on here other than the Light House and sometimes Media Metropolis, I don't know anything about what's going on in the smash community anymore but I have heard some things that were just sad, I assume it was from that.

Honestly I would like to see GG make it, but I will not be able to go to EVO so I don't care too much about who wins. Hopefully whoever wins brings an amazing turnout, it will be a great chance for them.

Skullgirls is currently closing it on Melee. Just trailing behind by less than 600 dollars.
I feel like it's going to be close since I'm seeing on SRK that there are quite a few that are going to donate a hundred dollars each.

I haven't played SG for the longest time and feel kinda bad for dropping it, so this is reminding me to give it another shot. DoA is right behind SG with by less than a 100 dollars, surprisingly.

I actually kinda feel like pulling for DOA, to be honest. Partly since it's a big unknown for me in terms of well...everything that's not Kasumi, lol.

Melty blood king of poverty
i could've donated my life savings to melty

but then i realized melty community is a sad shell of itself divided by mitsuru-shi, akaneenee, yayoi-chan, and badguy-san.

if smash loses i'll be somewhat amused to say the least. rub that salt all over.

you should move to georgia so i can abduct you for free play.
