I personally would like to see SG get in kind of (or GG, but that's probably not helping) to possibly get a few more people in for the P4A signups, but that's just me. Either way, raising over $9000 *insert Vegeta here* in a 24 hour period is nothing to sneeze at and regardless of whether Melee gets in or not, Breast Cancer Research is certainly going to be the one who ultimately wins, and I'm fine with that.

That being said, if Melee gets in, I would cross my fingers and hope that some of the Melee players try signing up for other games, even if they're not that good at them just because it's EVO. Conversely, I hope some people would give Melee a chance too. I hope that if Melee gets in and comes out in groves, that a bunch of them will either decide to take a shot at AE2012, or go "hey, MK!", and sign up. Plus, if Melee gets in, I don't know, maybe it'll wind up featured at some Road to EVO events, and will help people in both the Melee and different branches of the FGC open up to other games so everyone benefits. Of course, this is just my "yay, make this good so everyone wins!" optimism talking.

If SG can manage to defeat melee, they better destroy the attendance with like 100+ entrants at the very least.

Melee would be pretty much guaranteed 200+, especially with Genesis 3 in the next week to provide incentive to travel anyway.

It'd be such a poor display if SG drops 10k in donations only to pull a SFxT or melty level attendance.

This thread needs more TvC. Shame on you, playing inferior games like every single other fighter out there.

I've been sick all week so my sarcasm detector is broken :(.

And sad to say, but TvC is one of my least favorite fighters from Capcom. Just not my thing.
Would you mind explaining why? I'm just curious as I think it's a great example of a successful fighter.

The mechanics weren't suited for me. Most of the air dashes were too similar or generic and the weight/physics/combo system of the game felt a little plain (imo). I will also admit I'm not a fan of the giants. It's too difficult to balance them to the point to make them tolerable because of matchups.

However, I did enjoy playing TvC though for the time that I did. I did played CGoH and UAS for awhile. The Tatsunoko cast had pretty cool movesets, more than most of the Capcom characters for sure. Also liked how interesting characters like Volnutt played with his keepaway game and weapon switching rushdown.

UAS did a good job balancing the cast compared to how broken CGoH was (although that was pretty fun because I used Karas). TvC just didn't stand out much to me compared to other Capcom fighters where I'd want to go back to it aside from the roster. For some odd reason, I'd rather play JJBA or even Fate, even if they're broken.

Fair points, but pretty much none of them are about the game itself. But I do agree that being on the Wii was a limiting factor. I still haven't got to try an arcade stick...
But yes, I agree the giants are hard to balance without making the broken or just dumb, but I still like them being in the game and it was cool for them to try them. It's a real shame the game died, but I am glad there are people who still play in my area.

In SCR related news, KOFXIII's still on twitch.tv/leveluplive2. Man...I swear that game is amazing to watch when done at a good level.

Also, I believe TTT2 is going to be shown after.

I guess I lumped all the game stuff in the first paragraph. But I basically am not a fan of long combos, Baroque, and how Mega Crash worked.
Baroque made combos too long and made things safe if you ever had it a sliver of red health. Mega Crash sounds like it would be balanced with the damage and the meter cost, but I don't feel like it is. It's almost like a game of Chicken with it, iirc.

But of course, these are things I didn't like personally. I'm sure other people like them.
Opinions will always be varied for each game's system mechanics.

Well that's one good thing about fighters, there is one for everyone. I personally believe Baroque and Megacrash are amazing mechanics. They make red health and meter more dynamic, since red health isn't just stuff you want to heal and meter isn't just to be burned for damage. You need to figure out if it's more important to stay alive or deal more damage. And yes Baroque is a crazy powerful mechanic, but this is exactly why you should wait for them to use it before activating mega crash. And mega crash should come in every single fighter out there, of course it should depend on the fighter how much it would cost, but I think Guilty Gears pretty much once per much is too limited.

Guilty Gear Bursts are perfect. You will probably get two, maybe three in a match, as long as you play well enough.

It's not like you would need any more, you don't need to worry about 100% combos in that game.

Yeah that's why I said the amount of bursts and their effectiveness should really have a lot to do with the power of those combos. And in TvC most characters can read the megacrash and land an unscaled hyper too. I really like GG bursts as they can be used offensively as well.
