So I've read the majority of all the Doc info and so far i've realized I don't play Doc like anyone else. I use f.smash more than I should (it works for me though) I use downtilt and thats possibly my favorite move to just whip out when hey least expect at high percentage. I need to make a video to show what I really mean.

I'm not against receiving advice. These are friendlies and those matches were literally the first time I had busted Doc out in forever (johns, but still). I'll take what I can get. I'm a lil too ambitious with some of my combos.

And yeah, Niko is EC. He's getting really beast recently, placed 2nd at some large tournament about a month ago and got 5th at the last No Johns beating some of Tristates ranked players and what not. Our crew is moving up in the world.

probably, I'm just to used to actually being attacked/approached by spacies so when it didn't happen, for the entire match, I realized how stupidly stupid it is.

Yeah when spacies are bad and approach you and all, it might mislead you into thinking the matchup is good for Doc.

Normally I'd say look at the most recent guide, but the most recent one here is written by Dogy so if you actually read it then we'll never see you again (you'll just go into a violent green stupor). So read SmashMac's.

You have to learn that doc doesn't need technicality, just smarts, and some tech too. Thats what I am learning the hard way. I like to attack first, and TRY to get an attack in, but when my friend counters my every move, I switched to waiting for him to attack first, dodge his attacks, and then attack. Hehehe.

If every Doc. player knew this I bet there would be a 100% increase in top 10 tourney-placing Doc. players out there.

And btw I think I have more trouble with shiek than marth. Then I notice I like marth better than peach because he doesn't downsmash after I do everytime.

If every smash player knew waht all "technical skill" encompassed people would realize that more characters are "tehcnical" than people make them out to be.

Cause I mean, apparently spacing f.airs to not get shieldgrabbed all day is not a technical skill. -shrug-

It's really not that horrible if you'll play good stage positioning, kinda like you have to do with everybody.

You keep attacking at the right places, and you'll notice that your "risks" arent as painful when you're wrong as they are when you're wrong near a ledge and get tossed off.

Same can be said for most characters.

You can also CC a ton of his ****, if he spaces certain moves on your shield you can just Dsmash (or pivot Dsmash if your back is turned) to punish, etc etc etc. Doc has mad **** he can do to Marth to get in on him, it is no where near as bad as people make it out to be.

Guess he had to learn the hard way first Dogy. I remember when I used to full hop almost every pill I threw. Standing pills was hardly in my arsenal 6 months ago.

Characters like Fox, Marth, and Sheik can run under/jump over FH pills easily. Perhaps if Doc could beat Sheik by crouch-canceling (CCing) everything Sheik up to say 80% or 90%, Doc wouldn't need the pills as much. Sheik wins the upclose encounters vs Doc too often to neglect pills ("camping or whatever people wanna call it").

EDIT:
Yes wavedashing back and forth to bait Marth's attacks is legit and all, but I'm still callin' out Marth to be Doc's 2nd g@yest matchup.
