Was it ever confirmed you could vote for multiple characters without a new entry overwriting the old one?

It was never confirmed if your votes would count if you voted multiple times, but you could vote again and again on the same device and other devices without being login to anything.

So, for my pointless New Years prediction, I'm going to say that if Dark Souls somehow gets a character, the stage will be the least tournament legal of all the dlc.

Unless it's as simple as Anor Londo, where you fight primarily on the rotating platform and nothing but.

Yeah, not even everyone's favorite bit, the archers, would appear. The stage would be banned from tournament play just for spinning

Happy new year everyone! May 2021 bring you what you want in Smash, unless I think your most wanted sucks in which case you'll have to settle with a generic "have a good year".

Here's a new game.

What were some characters in Smash 4 and Ultimate that you thought were obvious inclusions but seemed to take others by surprise?

For me, Little Mac, Miis and Steve all fit that bill.

Everyone in Ultimate except for Piranha Plant and Joker. People say it's super surprising and Sakurai is unpredictable but they simply aren't casting a wide enough net.

That feels more like a technicality to call them villains. Sure, they’ve done it a couple times. But 90% of they’re appearances either have them as mentors, antiheros, or straight good guys.

They're bosses in almost every Kirby game. They count, regardless of their motivations.

If the term "villains" is hanging you up, use "antagonists" or "enemies".

Saw someone talking mortal kombat in smash seriously and it got me thinking about if there was any potential reason to believe that and I found this interview and I don't know about you guys but it seemed to me like ed boon got really uncomfortable when the guy was asking about smash to him and his answer is kinda fumbled compared to he other responses. That sounds "sus", but at the same time, Ed Boon is notorious for trolling and telling lies, so it's hard to tell whether it's a NDA or if it's just Boon being Boon.

Aside from it's near non-existence to all but the most passionate of fans in Japan, this is one of the big reasons why it's impossible to speculate a MK character.

I mean I won't lie, an 8-bit character sounds cool for a base game pick but we're paying money for this DLC and I'm sorry but I honestly don't think an Atari 2600 character is worth the price of a challenger pack. Granted it'd be super easy to implement but we'd be paying money to play as a 2D sprite and have characters fight on a plain background.

personally still feeling that we’ll finally see a second Bandai Namco character

I feel like we might get Ryu Hayabusa and a Capcom character (though I'm not sure whether it would be Monster Hunter, Dante, Phoenix Wright, or a wildcard like Amaterasu or Morrigan - my preference would be Dante), but even then, I'm not super confident about them.

I don't think there would be any behind-the-scenes issues between Koei-Tecmo and Bandai-Namco, given that they've collaborated on the One Piece Pirate Warriors series, but I have no way of knowing for sure. As for Capcom, maybe the development team would want to branch out to other companies rather than going with another Capcom character.

We probably should get a second Namco-Bandai character (no idea who - my guess would have been Heihachi, but he's stuck as a Mii costume again), but then again, we should have gotten one a long time ago. (it seems weird that they've developed the past two or three Smash games, and yet the only character they have in Smash's roster is Pac-Man)
