Hello there!

Image may contain: 1 person, closeup
A: I don't know who that is.

B: Maybe instead of throwing a random picture you bother to say the context.

C: I stand that all the plausible Resident Evil reps are done. Those were the four most important, and they all got hit with the Spirit situation.

I don't see Resident Evil happening at this point. It's sad too, since the biggest ones were already Leon and Jill and they were thrown out quickly. Though there could be other reasons. Considering how hard Steve was to make alone, Sakurai probably couldn't figure out a very good ammunition gameplay as is(and Steve is rather difficult to play and has balance issues due to that. He's not likely to hit high tier. And unlike Resident Evil, he can get resources consistently. RE is based upon the idea of massively limiting resources, even your own save files). The Spirits mostly would've been overly horror-themed monsters that are way beyond Castlevania, who only pushed it with just the Trailer for Simon/Richter. Having a gun in itself is not an issue mind you.

I'd have liked Jill, but I'm not that surprised it didn't happen.

Oh, lordy, I forgot about Claire. She's not that easy to remember either way. XD Pretty bad joke then, honestly. If you said the name I would've remembered her and your joke would've actually hit home, so. Welp.

That and I can barely remember Claire as is. I never played the games, heh.

What do you guys think are the most slept on picks for a CP?
Anything Bandai-Namco, honestly.

Lloyd isn't entirely slept on, but many are trying to disconfirm him despite the costume not being there.

Rayman is another one, though at least there's the "isn't a big deal in Japan" which is a bit more reasonable than some costumes alone. As we know already that costumes don't need to come with their company.

Doomslayer is a bit more reasonable. The second interview is very confusing(as the only confirmed talks were in 2018), but that combined with another costume from the company, well? I get it.

I don't consider any of them out of the running, mind you, but I only consider Lloyd with a good chance now.

I have no idea who anything of them are except Chosen Undead lmao.
Isn't Dark Souls the most mainstream of them anyway? That makes sense, heh.

The other two are from Sakura Wars and Dragalia Lost.

I only even know of Sakura Wars somewhat and a decent amount about Dark Souls myself.

But I do agree they're slept on. Albeit, Chosen Undead is another Bandai-Namco choice, so, my earlier post does effectively note him.

Newcomer speculation for this children's party game is very serious business, sir. I don't appreciate the attempt at cracking a joke.
It was half a joke. I don't think they'd choose her as the sole character for Ultimate (my response was to Bagel's all the plausible characters are spirits). I think she is possible as an alt/echo of another RE character in a future game via a Hero/Steve situation. (For example Chris/Leon share a slot and Jill/Claire share another).

Or she could be a tag team character with Leon (while Chris and Jill are the other tag team), as outlined here.

As Verde Coeden Scalesworth Verde Coeden Scalesworth best said, Bandai Namco characters are slept on way too much. Not just Lloyd, but also KOS-MOS. Even discarding a lot of the "leaks" that feature her, she's got a lot more going on for her than most can give credit for. Not just her connections to MonolithSoft and Xenoblade, but also from a moveset perspective that she focuses more on artillery and guns than the standard "anime swordsman" shtick that has became a particular stigma in Smash.

And among Bamco, only a few get a decent amount of Discussion. Lately it's Tales of and Dark Souls. Rarely are you going to find KOS-MOS outside of leak talks. Nightmare is easily slept on. Never mind Digimon, Katamari Darmacy(sp?), Klonoa...

I can’t really see nightmare happening without getting Heihachi first tbh. It’d be kinda like if we got a Darkstalkers character instead of Ryu in Smash 4.
Maybe if Bamcos looking to market Soul Calibur.

I don't really think Nintendo specifically is going for unique movesets. Sakurai might, but Nintendo's the one choosing the characters, not him. He can say no to characters if he doesn't think he can make them work, but he can't specifically request a character. Besides, it's not like the anime swordsman criticism stopped Sephiroth.

The series are entirely unrelated.

Remember, Bamco isn't choosing the characters. Nintendo is. And Sakurai has to decide which one is playable by looking at whatever character is suggested. Heihachi wasn't playable in 4 due to moveset-related issues. It appears the issue is he can't properly transfer the Tekken gameplay over. That wouldn't magically change any time soon.

Nightmare on the other hand is from a much more simplistic game that doesn't rely on limb gameplay. It's more about juggling, excellent timing, and while it plays in 3D, it's got a lot of 2D-related stuff, including moveset commands. It's a lot more like your typical fighting game is, but, well, in 3D. He's very easy to transfer over into Smash in comparison. So between those two, Sakurai would choose Nightmare if he's suggested, because the moveset is actually easy to work with.

There's also others Nintendo might choose. With upcoming games, there's many Tales protagonists to think upon, there's a Digimon due to that upcoming games, there's legacy picks like Dark Souls or the other various Tales characters that are still popular to this day. Digimon also counts for a legacy option.

Gex.

He's been brought back into the spotlight in recent years thanks to prominent Youtubers such as Scott the Woz and Dunkey, and I'm certain Nintendo would want to capitalize on that popularity. :yeahboi:
Yeah, and I'd love to see what kind of funny stuff he says. XD

I don't know, guys. I just don't see why they couldn't of held back the Heihachi and Gil outfits back if we were getting a Namco fighter.

It's not like say, Capcom who had a whole buttload of costumes from Smash 4 they had to bring back, and they spread out the Mega Man costumes throughout the first pass where they obviously weren't getting a fighter (while conspicuously leaving the MH outfits at large...). Namco on the other hand only had three and we've gotten 2/3 of them back this pass. If we were getting a Namco fighter then I feel like they could of held back at least 2/3 of them for them, and release the last one with one of the last two fighters afterwards, but they've already jumped the gun and started adding the Namco outfits back with unrelated fighters.

I just don't get why people are acting like Lloyd is likely because of his Mii outfit being missing for so long...even though we previously said that about Heihachi. Or Geno.

I wouldn’t say the series are entirely unrelated. They are both big 3D fighters owned by Bandai Namco. Though I could see Nightmare being picked over Heihachi for moveset as you mentioned. I do agree that a Bamco rep is slept on.

To be fair, Heihachi and Gil sprites were added to :ultpacman: ’s taunt while Lloyd wasn’t. Not saying he will be playable but I feel the taunt may have doomed Heihachi and Gil from the get go

Oh, I'd also like if Gex's alts were the costumes he wore in the levels of his games (especially his bunny suit, because it's funny).

They're not related beyond one possibly being a future version.

They're entirely different series and Bandai-Namco aren't trying to choose between them. Nintendo is. If Heihachi didn't make it, that doesn't stop Nintendo from suggesting other options from the tons of other series.

They aren't in that kind of competition with each other. Tekken was passed over already. Thus, it's no longer competition as is.

I'm always surprised that people think Rayman could be a Mii costume. People are aware that Mii Brawler has a knee attack right? Unless they think it's more like a hat or something.

I mean we have Creeper and Pig Miis (Who can also be turned into Sans Undertale, that is very important). They don't have knees either.
