Attention Brawlers. Thank you for the privledge to once again play with all of you, it was fun, but I do realize that this will be my final Brawl-fest and any type of Smash Related Tournament until the next series of Smash comes out; if one does come out.
The reason for this, is because I basically don't like the game, and much of the community for Brawl. With Melee, the characters were separated into tiers like this, and it was still dominating characters, however; someone like Wobbles, someone with much skill could pick any character and use them effectively no matter who the other person picked. This showed great skill differences in tech skill and just plain ole strategy. In Brawl, if I fight someone and I destroy them with their "Main" and then pick a character such as Metaknight, then all of a sudden we're on even footing. And if someone is similar skill level against me and pick a higher tier, I will struggle to keep up. The most logical thing to do is main a higher tier, but I do not want to do such broken characters.
I know it goes back to the Metaknight John, but we would see so much diversity if he was taken out. Snake is the closet thing we have to deal with Metaknight, and he isn't even close to being as broken as Metaknight is. I remember in Melee, I got owned quite a bit, never won a tournament, never was considered good and all. But I enjoyed the game, could play hours and practice for hours by myself and still be entertained. I came to about every smashfest and tournament I could, and was always itching to see how I've improved. With Brawl, that's not the case. Even though I'm better at Brawl, wider known, place better and feel more respected, I simply don't like the game.
Also, for the community. In Melee, people could joke around, kid. Sit down with someone you don't know and laugh it up, chat, have an interesting conversation and share tips and tricks and geniuely mean it. In Brawl, no such thing exist. Because of the tiers, people rarely play any other characters for fun, so no tips can be had if they aren't a long term player. There is often a strange atmosphere between people if you don't know them, and awkward stares and silences.
As for tips, The person I tried helping out the most was Slaps; as you probably all heard me say "SLAPS!". And despite what people said, I think he's progressing remarkably and will eventually be a force to reckon with. I see a lot of prospect in his Ike.
Theeboredone. I played with him before and was even training him for a VERY short period of time. But his Ike was better than mine, I admit, and he did 3-stock me (But I suicided once at 0% by Ikecide). He has progressed incredibly, and I am proud an Ike in Texas has risen to that level. But overall, we have too few diversity of low-tier and mid-tier players.
Sako, I mean to give you some tips and comment about your Marth but I got called away for a match and never got to come back and talk. But I hope your Marth improves and you keep up the good work.
As far as training and Tips, Melee1 seemed to only be interested in training Jessica, probably because she was a girl, and someone said this happened before with a girl named Katie. Melee1, you're cool and all, but that irritated me. Jessica was actually a good Pit player, but she needed to hone her skills. Why help her when there were so many other people there that could've used your help in learning to Tap/Smash and regular D.I.? But instead, you chose to infinite Chaingrab them, make examples of them and further raise your own Ego by it, which I seen a lot. Also, normally you made some comments but also "laughed" after them as to show you were joking when sometimes it shows you were. You are now the top player in this community and an old friend from Melee, honestly I expected a little more from you in being a teacher to those less skilled, and not basing who got your teachings on gender.
To the rest of the community. I'll give you out some shoutouts individually.
Slaps: Your Ike is progressing nicely. You're going to soon be a force, just get down your combos, mindgames and don't rely on the same things everytime. I felt your huge change since I first fought you despite what some people may say. Ask bored for tips, and I'll still tell you everything I know. Also, if you have online, Seek out DT, Renegade, Edo and Kimchi, they'll be good people to tell you things.
Ruddy: Your Fox is still the best I've seen and you continue to improve with your movements and the way you fight in prediction. It's always good to fight you, but the one thing that I think you have flawed is your excess movement. You tend to move around quite a bit and use F-air a lot, even when it's not necessary, if you cut down on this, you'll cut down on how much you can be predicted, as I really was only able to take advantage of this to get kills.
Jessica: Jessica, you're a very good Pit Player. I'll say seek out Sagemoon and Rogue Pit in order to learn a bit more about him. Though, I seen a bit of Focus on Unnecessary arrow loops, when they're meant when you shoot two or three arrows at once. Learn how to Wind Glide and also take advantage of that Edgeguard where pits can use his Up+B off stage, then still have all his jumps and move again. Learn Combo setups and get your timing down on the mirror Shield gimps. You'll be okay.
Jumpman: Your Wolf is good, I honestly respect your Wolf because you don't spam and you're still fresh as ever. However, I think you should rely less on your Down-Smash as a killing move, and less on getting back with your over+B through the stage, as eventually they become easily predictable and block/countered against. However, you still are an amazing wolf player.
d4ba: Honestly dude, I lost quite a bit of respect for you at that Smash fest. That's all I'm saying, no hate in the community.
Anyone I missed: Sorry if I missed you, were quite a lot and I didn't get to talk to a lot of you, so just know that I enjoyed playing you and I'm glad to have met you. Keep up to the good work.
Special Note: I might start back playing in the Smash Bros. Melee community, simply because I still know those people, and find Melee to be much funner. And I enjoyed the Melee tournament and realize that love for Roy again. Also, everyone. The leaders of this community, the Best Players. Train those below you, give them tips. I understand when you're at the top you want to stay up there, but crushing those beneath you doesn't do anything but discourage. So praise, help, assist and make sure everyone has potential. Dueces.
