Indeed peach is a character you must experience alot in order to be good with, i have more than enough experience with her, she is a main of my personal favorite.

DK is awesome too, i love using mindgames, thats probly the reason i use him, cause all of the traps you can put your enemy into and how you need to **** with your opponents mind to get the lead. :p

DAMN!! i want my videos up already! you guys will love my DK.... :(

A friendly match against a pocket Wario. This guy mains Ness but due to previous tourney matches against me with his Ness (Cargo CG FTW) he decided to go Wario this time.
He ended up knocking me out of the tourney that day 2-1.

A little trick: when a Wario tries to do the d-throw CG and obviously can't, you can buffer a side-b out of it and it'll more than likely hit him. I saw Ook do this to Krystadez like 10 times.

Other than that, you missed a few punishes that you should have caught. Good juggling though.

Yeah if they buffer the grab you can't get out, but if they mess up you can side-b. Though if you've been doing it a lot, sometimes they intentionally stop the cg and shield, then punish you for it. :c

also I finally went to a smashfest again and got videos of my rusty dk (no johns) vs the Fire Emblem couple!

Yeah man LoL is so fun

and the last video is the only one where I do good anyway. The other ones are pretty boring from a DK perspective tbh

Hi guys :)

I started playing DK for a while (I play now MK, DK and Link) and thus I would appreciate some critique on my current playstyle =)

I post two videos, but if you are going to critique only 1 of them, please critique the second one :)

Friendlies
vs .joel (Samus) 1
vs .joel (Samus) 2

Thanks a lot beforehand =)

First off, what was up with your shielding? I saw your shield come out and then drop right before a projectile was hitting it. You got hit by way too much because of this so either work on the timing or hold your shield longer.

Stop using d-air so much. Edgeguard with b-air mostly, you'll get a lot more hits out of it. D-air should only come out occasionally/if you know it'll hit. Also remember that sometimes it's better to just stay on stage and pester with a f-smash or f-tilt, or charge your punch. Especially true vs Samus who has a dangerous spike.

I can't remember how much you used it anymore if at all, but use more f-tilt. It's super good vs projectiles (it'll clank un-charged shots and missiles) and probably our best move for swatting people out of the air.

I saw you used Cargo b-throw which is like absolutely our worst throw, except for CSSing. Use Cargo u-throw more, it's great.

I think that's it, otherwise pretty good DK. I could see where you missed some b-air strings or other follow-ups, but that'll just come with practice.

Yeah, I tried to powershield, but failed >_>
I will definitely practice that one more ._.

Thanks for your critique =)

I will consider those points in my future games, thanks a lot :D

Agreed, after game 1 you were getting some great punches and getting the hits in you needed. I lol'd at game 4. It looked like you were the one that rage quit? I dunno.

Though a few times I noticed that when she d-aired your shield you would roll into her or something like that. Can we not u-tilt or u-air oos that? It really looked like u-tilt would smack her for doing it.

part 1. she tried to rage quit but dropped her controller and walked off so I did it for her.

2. you can't up tilt her if they choose to nair after dair since it comes out so fast. nicole mixes up what she does after dair most times so I didn't risk it. plus half the time I was getting sheild poked

I'm starting to think maybe its because Fox slightly charged his F-smash. Maybe that's where the 20% came from...? I can't test anything and I don't think researching the boards will get me far since it seems like a random fact.

Ok Icearrow. For one, you'd be better off not posting videos like number 2 where the opponent gets completely killed/doesn't play well as it doesn't offer much to critique. Now, for match one:

:47 Not sure why you followed up with Up+B, you probably weren't expecting to jump off of Kirby's head just know that you can Side-B after footstools.

:53 Try not to get into the habit of dairing down onto an opponent, especially one like Kirby

1:14 as nice as CSS is, just remember that there is a way to get out of it very quickly, and be prepared to recover/not get counter killed

1:28 Why'd you die here?

1:44 It seems like you expected jab not to pull him back, but being that close+light you probably would've been better off with dsmash.

2:09-2:14 Maybe you forgot how godlike DK's bair is, but in case you didn't, when Kirby (and others) start doing this, you can start bairing as well and more than likely beat them out.

2:21 Don't approach with dair

2:35 You shouldn't have died here, with DI+Momentum canceling you would've been just fine, and I'm noticing no attempts at momentum canceling or much DI from you at all

2:58-3:00 Don't try and dair in a situation like this, you'd be better off with nair, bair, uair, or dodge away.

Seeing as my DK isn't all that good, this advice could be wrong, but it's what I saw. I'm sure one of the better DKs would be fine with offering critique.

Horrible job suiciding second game, you could have been a lot more stylish about it, and you even failed.

Good job first game staying patient most of the game. Not jumping unnecessarily, I kinda feel like jumping gets you killed vs Fox unless he's in a bad position or recovering.

Yeah i was frustrated with that SD but I was at like 150% and wasnt high enough to platform cancel, he probably would have u-smashed me even if i had been close enough to grab the ledge.

No, I was talking about the suicide at the start of the game! Though, I definitely laughed at the up-b SD too.

First time playing a fox irl? Not bad! Use the cg and followups I mentioned =P I actually go out of my way to try and find a way to grab fox at 0%, which you probably shouldn't do lol. Your DK plays fast and smooth, I like it.

I agree with Sold2 though, vs Fox the match up is mostly about staying grounded unless he himself is in the air and above you. Lots of jab cancels, d tilts, and f tilts.

From what I could tell you were SDI-ing his multi hit moves pretty well, although I am pretty sure if you hold down when Fox is rising with his f-air you pop underneath him before taking like any of the hits lol. It depends on how he spaces it/when he uses it either while rising or falling though that dictates which way you should DI. Oh and if Fox ever gets caught infinite jabbing you for too long and thinks he can get away with it? DI up and headbutt him xD

This was a recent post of mine in the metagame thread. It should be dash grab =)

"Something I also wanted to mention that I recently started doing as a sort of mix up that has a very high percentage of success vs Fox and Falco. Given you have the space, down throw x3 (the second two being timed dash grabs), combos into either f-tilt or you take a step and d-tilt. In the latter case, you can read the roll and walk/running down b as a punish since he'll be fairly far away at this point. 0-42% combo! Very very useful imo xD

In a friendly with Inui's fox the other day on Final Destination, I did down throw cg x3 into down angled f-tilt which sent him down and out, then read his jump and d-aired; 0-death. Try it out =) Not a true combo by any means, but hey, the way I play is that if it works, it works."
