Perhaps there's now individual character enterances similar to the Smash64 enterances? Hold a button to pick your enterance, multiple enterances for some characters.That would be beyond groovy. O_O
..or is that his personal entrance? Does that make sense? I never played MGS.
That's what I've been saying since the day the box has been shown, so of course I'll agree with you.2) Snakes Down Special will be his cardboard box. I'm calling it.
6) Neck snap FTW.
That's a crazy idea, and I love it. To make it a "bit" more balanced, how about he suffers whatever hitlag he'd have gotten. For example, if he glomps Samus' fully-charged shot, I want him suffering one full second of lag from it. If he nibbles one of Fox's lazers...pfft, who gives a care about lag?I'm thinking that ability might not only be an attack, but an absorbtion move that could help accelerate the build-up of the "Wario Waft".
Even a "You must shield!" update would be fine.
Well-timed grab => BthrowHey do you guys think that there will be a Running response Grab???
Like Snake did to Mario????
I think it's better compared to G&W's "Oil Panic", but whatever.It seems to me somewhat similar to Ness' dB, only it requires timing, is one-sided, attacks (and by the looks of it... pretty hard), and instead of healing him it shaves a few seconds off the Waft timer in his butt. Seems pretty balanced to me.
Hm...maybe triggering that funky alarm will set loose one of the Metal Gears we've heard about?9) It will also have the special effect of summoning memories of playing MGS and confusing people who never did! In the games, the ! and the sound-effect accompanying it occurred when an enemy spotted you, and was, of course, followed by all enemies in the area swarming in on you. I doubt that anything like that will happen, though. The walls at the sides are enough to make the stage unique gameplay-wise... I'm getting tired of all the stage hazards.
Thanks for the compliment;That's a crazy idea, and I love it. To make it a "bit" more balanced, how about he suffers whatever hitlag he'd have gotten. No joke, if we got an explination of how these new shields work, that wouldn't be disappointing to me in the first place. But really, there's only one update that could ruin this week for me: Dark Samus...Assist Trophy!
It's a **** good thing I'm not superstitious.
I think it's better compared to G&W's "Oil Panic", but whatever.
Semicolons = <333Thanks for the compliment;
liking your input;
don't worry, she won't be;
good thing;
ah yes, that's definitely a better comparison.
I sometimes forget about the little guy and his seldom used/ barely useful dB attack.
Ugh, I dread item updates, only because they rarely interest me. That means that Thursday would have to be Lucas SM and Friday would be Ness for IMESCA to work. I just don't want to wait! Flash me your PK, Lucas! Show me some PK Love!You're welcome.
You're a springboard.
I hope not.
Sure thing.
I thought so.
Also, I'm guessing that we're due for an item update tomorrow (by one minute only).
How are we supposed to know?hey what about ness is he coming to brawl he is a veteran !?
QFTI hope Ness comes back and SHOULD return just like he was in SBB64
So we're a little off topic. Who cares? We got this debated through deriving it from a conversation about Lucas. Plus, no evidence has yet been provided that says Ness is out. And with the return of Mr Saturn, it actually helps his case.You guys do realize that this supposed to be a CONFIRMED character discussion, not a thread for character promotions, right?...
I suppose but this thread is to talk about characters confirmed OR not and besides we are comparing both Lucas and Ness so I think it's rightYou guys do realize that this supposed to be a CONFIRMED character discussion, not a thread for character promotions, right?...
Excitebike BLOWS. Lakitu makes up for it a little, but I couldn't care less about Excitebike. Blah.Heh, I was correct.
Lakitu ain't so bad. He's rather flavorful IMHO.
Hey, Aeris, wana synergize? Ya' know, work together to find something the both of us can look forward to seeing as well as expect to see? Might help that IMESCA along a tidbit.
OK, here's what I want you to do;
I'm gonna ponder which SMs of Lucas' I expect to be shown in Thursday's Dojo update. Don't look, just guess at what I might have written, think to yourself, then see if you were right. If we can guess the same two moves, maybe they'll appear.
upB and downB
Very true. If Ness comes back, he should come back in style, dammit.QFT
If they bring Ness back from the way he was in SSB64, he wouldn't be broken. Compared to other characters, he'd be very balanced.
I say take SSB64 Ness, keep the sweetspotted bAir, and either a meteor SSB64 version of his dAir or a spike Melee version of his dAir, make PK Fire a meteor attack again and make it a better trap again, make his dB do something other than absorb projectiles (something that can help offensively for those matches against Link or Marth or Ike or any other characters with inabsorbable [word?] projectiles or those with a total lack there of), find a midpoint between the range of Ness' uB recovery in SSB64 (god-like) and his uB recovery in Melee (pathetic), and also find a midpoint for the cooldown of that recovery, too.
That's the Ness of my dreams.
EDIT:
@Rhyme:
Good call with today's update being an item.
Now, do us all a favor and predict tomorrow to be Lucas' SMs and Friday to be Ness.
Well, I think everyone here knows how I feel about CS Link in Brawl (:ouchI've been sucked into the Hell dimesnion known as "school". Just got back out, and I only have a little time...I can feel myself being sucked in gradually...I need to hurry. Hello, all!
I'll just say my mind about the updates, and hopefully be back after I return from school again.
Monday
Monday was the day PH came out. We should have gotten a CSL update. As it was, we got a short update about a character representing a series I really don't give a d@mn about in Smash. [SARCASM]Great![/SARCASM]
Tuesday
Bunch of crap about Snake. All it does is make me want a Link-tastic video showing Link in action on his stage, like the "Snake Joins the Brawl" video.
Oh yeah, it also makes me wonder...that mine he's planting...he's digging, right? How's he gonna plant it on, say, Battlefield? Or BoE? Just wondering...
Wednesday
[RANT]I'm fvcking TIRED of items and ATs! God! Give us characters! Stages! Music! SE updates! NO MORE ITEMS![/RANT]
Okay, now I have to go. Hopefully, I'll see you all later.
Hey, I have a PM...oh well, I'll check it later...bye, all....
I think we'll be only getting those types of videos for 3rd Party guests, considering it was a just a Snake highlights montage put together by Konami and not Sakurai, Sora, or Nintendo. Not to say that it wouldn't be AWESOME to have each individual character have their own "[x] Joins The Brawl!" highlight video, but I think that we'll probably only be getting SE specific "[x]'s Descent" videos for the Nintendowned characters.I agree that seeing those Snake videos makes me want to see "Peach Joins The Brawl", "Pit Joins The Brawl", and "Lucas Joins The Brawl". Who knows what time will bring? Maybe Sakurai will include videos like that in the game itself for all of the characters--or at least the newcomers.
Agreed, but I'd be a bit more content with some Kirby music (HUGE fan of the compositions on the Kirby stages so far, especially the music played on DL and FoD) and/or Zelda music (fingers still crossed for "Gerudo Fortress Theme").I'm a music fan, though, so the more music, the better. How about some MOTHER3 music?! Hellz yeah!(Really, though, that would be lovely.) And with stages: we still have yet to see Mario Circuit, a MOTHER stage, a Metroid stage, an Ice Climber stage, or an F-Zero stage.
Yeah ganon is a good character they should revamp this apperance with the twilight princess look like link.Still waiting for a ganon update....
Dunno. For some reason... I thought you might have been talking about someone else. Normally, (and don't flame me for saying this any Ridley supporters out there because I'm pro-Ridley, too) it's Ridley that people say will be the Metroid boss.Dyce-how could you not understand me when I say DS SE Boss? I thought you were a Metroid fan?jk haha
I can see your logic, especially for the Up Special (to show that Lucas truly would be different than Ness). I'm still holding out for me and Dyce's IMESCA fantasy, but I guess I wouldn't be surprised if we had to wait a week to see Lucas' SM update. Fingers crossed nonetheless! (And why is it that the characters that I love so much take forever to get updated? Peach, then Lucas...who next?! We won't see Claus until late 2008....)I was figuring on the up- and downB specials for two reasons:
1. Those are two of the most original attacks in all of Melee (for Ness) and probably will be in Brawl (for Lucas). They'd be highlights, and a good way for Mr. Sakurai to show off "his" shiny new character.
2. Because Ness was so original, Lucas promises to be equally original, though not in the same way Ness was. That being said, if Lucas' up- and downB moves are very different than Ness', we know Ness will make his triumphant return. If they're what Ness' used to be...well so much for Ness, but at least we'll know how much differently the two moves will behave, since both these moves are well...just that way.
Honestly though, after not getting Lucas' SMs Tuesday, we're probably not getting them until Tuesday/Wednesday next week. I AM feeling a vet on Monday...not sure why. Just seems like an appropriate time to me. =/ And honestly, if I can't feel it for tomorrow or Friday, then my powers are not yet as great as those of yours (which is contestable after you had to wait so bloody long for both Peach and Lucas to appear).
I'm not sure when we'll be seeing Falcon...probably within the next two weeks at some point.
EDIT: Sadly, I feel that the longer we go without a Ness character update, the less likely it is that he returns. Also, if Dark Samus is a boss in the SE, I'm fairly sure that this doesn't offer ANY proof that she'll be playable. As a matter of fact, I think it confirms her as non-playable. So basically;
Ness appears inside of three weeks or not at all;
DS = Boss = NPC
DS = Mini-Boss = PC
Lucas' SM = awesome
Ugh, I dread the thought.Aeris-copied from the man himself "I think that in Smash, though, appearances are rarely what they seem." CSLink confirmed
In the distance, a shadowy figure on the back of the Halberg flying away turns and begins walking. His sword strikes a lighting bolt as he spins into the doorway.
LOLZ. This is why I love Dyce.^^^^
We get it.
You're clever.
Why hide something so obvious behind spoiler tags?Alright, we already knew that Aeris and Dyce were feeling one another, but come now fellas, this is getting rediculous. There's this amazing new thing I discovered recently, and it's calledprivacy. But no, seriously, butt sex. XD
Hey, did anyone know that Mr. Sakurai can't spell the word vague? True story.
I don't really believe in hiding what I truly am: extraordinarily friendly.Alright, we already knew that Aeris and Dyce were feeling one another, but come now fellas, this is getting rediculous. There's this amazing new thing I discovered recently, and it's calledprivacy. But no, seriously, butt sex. XD
