I think DFG got the message. There is no brawl for Holiday Bash...
Yo, this is DancingFighterg. What is this about? I've haven't updated the game list when it came to the bash. What's going on?

Ok, I read through some post and over the last 1.5 years we have noticed that the money that gamers has been an issue. Cutthroat has been working over the last 1.5 years to fix this problem and we have found the solution. The events in October our FREE events with set pots and more. With the backing that we have recieved this has become a reality. We are hoping to continue this style of tournament going into 2011. It's up to the community if it continues. We can provide it but it's up to everyone to keep it. You can also see that BlazBlue will be part of these events. For those who are putting a lot of their focus on BB this is good for you. If the support is there I can move to include Street Fighter 4, new Marvel, Soul Calibur and other fighting games for next year but overall it's the community to support to that make it happen.

I understand that everyone is tight on money, even myself, after all the stuff I do, so over months of talking and dealing we finally have the backer that Cutthroat has been looking for. So again, FREE TOURNAMENTS WITH PRIZES, GIVEAWAYS AND MORE. This is what the community has been asking me for so I delivered. The more you support the more we can get. If you haven't seen it already take look at the events:

http://www.coloradocutthroat.com/mybank2go.php

Trust, the FPS and Madden community will capitalize on this so I want the fighting game side to do the same. Also, there is a lot more that I can't tell you now but more coming down the pipe so if you want free events with great payouts come support. The more support for these events we have the more Cutthroat can provide more gaming opporturnities for everyone.

Greg, C3 free tournaments are usually pretty terrible, prize-wise and everything.

Also, it's kinda too little too late. We've been talking about pricing for events for really really long, as well as transparency with your 4profit not4profit. Honestly, I fail to see how you're a non-profit, given that we know you get most your venues for free/super discount rates, and you've bought very little in the way of c3 improvment, aside from staff shirts (wooooo).

I mean, I defended you for years, Greg. I found ways to explain away things you wouldn't explain to me. Butuhh, enough is enough. Colorado Smash was best as a community, rather than a business.

This isn't to say people won't attend the free ones, but I think CO smash is pretty much done with C3, assuming they actually hold fast.

Anduhh, petty as this is, not inviting the guy who's been trying to get your back for years to your wedding? Pretty **** lame. And no, I'm not asking for an invite, since you laughed it off last time.

It seems to me that -through your own choices and decisions- you made sure no one in Colorado Smash was a friend of yours. You had clients and employees, and that's it.

But who knows, maybe CO Smash will be wishy-washy and be drawn in by a high cash prize.

I know m2k won't really draw headlines in this state again, though. lol

Not true for Brawl. Some of us still like Brawl more than BlazBlue or still play Brawl competitively.
I think after Supercon many people are still recooping financially.
Venue fee $30-45
Tourney 10-20 assuming they enter 2 instead of like Tim entering 3.
Gas(in my case) $50
Also the stupid ****ing **** at the gate didn't communicate with me about their new ******** *** parking rules or w/e. and I just got a big *** ticket from Auroria for not paying a parking bill I never got. But lets assume that didnt happen and add $5-15 for Parking.
So realistically I payed roughly $125 for a tourney experience that changed my opinion on the ability of AiB to run any tourney competently.
and I still owe Dan $30 as well.
Plus I am in the middle of saving up to move out. And with the drive to my job I am practically working 11 hours a day and getting home at 2 in the morning until I move down to Pueblo. This will all change once I am down there and if people can make it down there I can host stuff(Chicken Tenders said it was cool with him.)
But ya until about November I probably wont be able to attend much if anything really. Baring things like Dylans tourney that is like $5 entry.

I forgot about that. Thanks Although technically we both got in free to dubs but what about other people coming from the Springs and such? who didn't it still applies to them.
Even then the amount its costing me is staggering for a tourney. It was more than half of the money it cost to go to New Mexico and play in that tourney. Come to think of it, If I drove my car down there rather than the SUV we drove that got like 12 miles to the gallon(lolz) I would have spent the same amount of money to go to that oos tourney as to go to one an hour away :/

Ahh, 2008. Those were the days.

Aww.... why the hate Peter? :(
It's just sarcasm, Chunky. I have no problems with rPSI (I have big problems with Wobbuffet and Wynaut, though)

Colorado Smash is indeed better off as a community than a business. Really well said, Tony

Smash is kinda dead right now because of school and stuff, but the Brawl scene might get interesting soon. We just need our own source of tournaments, and DTL's starting things off pretty well.

Tony, I don't understand what not inviting you to my wedding has anything to do with going to free events to win money? Also, C3 donates money to non-profit organizations. It's a good cause so I don't understand what you mean by non-profit lowering price.

Just so you know wedding scost money and their is so many people I can invite so don't take it personally. My family invites come before anyone. There were staff that attended my wedding but it was limited. Again, weddings cost a lot of money to invite people so we can't invite everyone. Again, you may not know how weddings work or how much it cost to do them but all I can say is don't take it personally it's not you or anyone in the scene.

As for attend events all I can say is this is big opporturnity to do what everyone has been wanting to do for a long time and that's free events. I can't force anyone to attend an event but for those communities that come and support the events they put themselves in a good position to see more money in a gaming community then most communites in the nation. If Smash dies there is other games i.e. BlazBlue, Street Fighter, etc, etc. Again, at the least the FPS and sports community will capitalize on this so I want the fighting game scene to do the same but the ball is in the court of the community. I said a long time ago that I would work to find ways to lower prices for gaming and I have. It's take a while but the opporturnity is at our door steps and other communities, I hope, will capitalize.

As for defending me I thank you for the support that you have given Cutthroat and I hope you will continue. I don't know about the whole m2k thing but C3 will continue increase the quality and the price for gamers in Colorado. This mybank2go partnership is a strong opporturnity to make things easy for gamers and no one can deny that. As I said early attendance to these events benefit everyone in the gaming community both hardcore and casual in Colorado. and beyond. We have an opporturnity that no one has in the nation right now. It would be foolish for all communities not to captialize on this but the choice is each individual.

Bridge Status: Burnt

It has nothing to do with the free events. It has to deal with common decency towards "friends". Don't bs me about the wedding, either. You know full well I would have been fine with zero catering, no formal invitation, and just sitting on a lawn/back of a church/where the hell ever it was held. That's beside the point. You're an alright guy, you're just a terrible businessman and a mediocre human being. I mean, you invited staff members over the guy who organized countless events for you, defended you so many times it's not even funny, and stuck with you against EFL long enough to burn a few bridges?

Whatever, man. **** off.

What non-profits do you donate to? I've never ONCE heard of any such donations. How much of your profits do you donate? Where does the rest of it go?

The popular theory is that it goes to the "Greg and (possibly) Lance pocketing Colorado's money" fund. I used to disagree, but given how there's ZERO transparency in your business, it's really not all that hard to swallow.

These free events are just you trying to show the sponsors that you can drum up attendance. If they flop, so does your business.

There aren't other fighters, either. Brawl kept you afloat after EFL completely boycotted you. A year ago, your attendance for other fighters was ****. Now, it's little more than a joke. The only thing that draws people to your events nowadays is the random good pot bonuses. It's not that your events are the best run, as you ALWAYS show up after your staff, normally by 2-3 hours, and then you have some random bull**** excuse. Your current TOs don't even seed properly. You've even shown up after 2 for events that are supposed to start no later than 11.

The sports game scene will (if you're lucky) sustain you for another couple months. After that, they'll quit, because there's really no point in participating in 5-10 man tournaments for a venue fee of $100000.

You have not worked to lower prices. You've only raised them. More and more as your business collapses, you artificially inflate your profits by raising the cost of attendance and relying on the kindness and forgetfulness of the community. Supercon had a ridiculous amount of sponsors, and the venue fee was still ********.

The only thing in your entire post that isn't complete bull**** is "I don't know about the whole m2k thing but C3 will continue increase the quality and the price for gamers in Colorado.

These events benefit your already fat wallet. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to find out that most of the venue fees went directly towards funding your wedding. I'm not joking in any way, shape, or form.

Our community isn't capitalizing on ****. You're capitalizing on the community, and it would be foolish for us to allow you to continue to take advantage of us.

Again, and I pray to God every single CO smasher reads this post, your "free" events are only to show that you can get numbers, and I highly encourage the Colorado gaming community to avoid said events like the plague, so that the disease of C3 can finally die out.

And let's not joke, the FPS community is something that you can't rely on to keep your business afloat.

I'm really quite tempted to pull up the entire list of your sponsors, and contact each and every single one of them, just so I can remind them that sponsoring a "non-profit" that isn't completely transparent rarely leads to anything aside from laundering of funds. Maybe then, we'd actually see how C3's money is spent. Or I can just make a list of every single failure C3 has experienced, send that to them, and watch them systematically pull their funding.

Better yet, how about a tax audit? That should be great for business. The government doesn't take kindly to organizations that claim to be non-profit while funneling money out the back.

tl;dr - I'm sick of being the "nice" guy. I'm sick of defending you. Most of all, I'm sick of your ability to lie to my face after all these years. I'm sick of C3 ****ing up time and again, and I'm sick of trying to explain where the money goes.

The ball isn't in our court. It's in yours. Deflated. You wanna fix ****? You have a lot more to do than try to act like your publicity events are good for the community. The only people still with C3 are the ones who like having their pockets lined.

If you don't want to fix things, that's fine. Stop posting here, and expect me to start working on getting my own series of tournaments going. I can and will completely destroy attendance for the NVGA. It's not that hard, honestly.

I actually know how to run major events.
