I never denied that the placings are because I'm awesome, but that doesn't make Pokèmon Trainer a bad character.

However, Ike is a ****ty character who needs to be at least a whole tier below Pokèmon Trainer.

You now you've finally ran out of "facts" and have resorted to baseless claims? Nice to know I'm right.

Get out of your dream world already. Fact is the solo reason PT move was because of your placing. That's not a real reason to move a character. Because if it is, all that needs to happen is to have Kirk and San forget college and enter more tournaments. Or have Vex go to more tournaments. PT is E tier until his actual metagame changes. Not just tournament results.

Once again, I haven't said that I'm not the only major contributor as far as results go for Pokèmon Trainer, although there have certainly been a few others helping.

The metagame has certainly changed, however, and it's helped me improve and stay interested in the character.

That is a real reason for a character being better, and Pokèmon Trainer is certainly doing that. That's all I'm saying.

What "magical" metagame change occurred during the month or so before this latest tier list that "magically" allowed PT to jump 5 spots?

I'll give you a hit: If something as big as Pikachu's new CGs didn't allow for him to move that many spots, the answer is "nothing, it was just bias/hype train"

And what has happened since then besides the highly stage situational Zero-Switching and this new Squirtle thingy that hasn't really been proven in tournaments yet? Not a whole lot. Which isn't worth another four spots like you seem to be claiming.

No offense Nidt but Ike is pretty bad. It's not like my main is perfect. I see that Ness isn't all that hot either.

Am I applying it the wrong way? Whenever I try this, it only gives me a headache.

Oh, and since the topic is about Ike, in a sense, yes he is bad. Like any D tier (it's where he belongs, be it at the top or at the bottom, I'm unsure) character, they do have their good points, but whether or not it's enough to get them anywhere outside low-tier tourneys is questionable.

So what is the proof required for this? There are very few people who even main PT so obviously there are not going to be many placings from them especially if you decide for some reason that the best of them count.

How about you explain what makes PT bad. All you seem to be able to say is that they don't have placings aside from Reflex but that is an issue of representation rather than viability.

So if i never picked up ic would they be stuck to mid-tier when lain was the only one winning tournies? Logic failed.

Im sure another amazing brawl player who put as much time into PT as reflex would make them a lot better.

The ic metagame hasnt changed much its just were getting more efficient at what we do.

It will be a whole lot easier for me to simply summarize everything there instead of jumping from point to point like I have been for the last freaking three months.

I think to some extent it is. The tier list shows viability. Winning tournaments is obviously a good sign of viability. Of course there are factors that go into the tier list aside from raw data.

I think Link has only won 3 tournaments in the last year. ArkiveZero, Blubba_Pinecone and Edogg each won one. So, maybe in 4 months he will win another tournament that is bigger than 20 people? lol....

heres the way I see it:

I remember a time a little over a year ago, when reflex was a wario main. yet, people like typh and steeler (as far as i know) have mained him since the game came out.

So there are people that have put MORE time than reflex into his character and are not getting his results. Thats why I disagree with your statement.

I do think PT should move up, just not all that much

Because someone did well in a large tournament using only Link. It's not a tier list after all here, it's tournament rep.

This is merely an interpretation of tournament results, organized into ranks. Your opinions don't matter when it comes to character placement, only tournament placings do.
