*puts up flame shield*

I'm sure i'm not the only one who thought of this,

>>Start of set.

>Rock Paper Scissors determine first ban.
}> or highest / lowest controller port

>First match over
}> Loser decides to keep ban for opponent, or change it to a different character.
}}> Winner decides to keep ban for opponent, or change it to a different character.

>Second match over
}> Loser decides to keep ban for opponent, or change it to a different character.
}}> Winner decides to keep ban for opponent, or change it to a different

If this has been brought up before, please explain why this WOULDN'T work,

The only reason I could think of is if you don't know who your opponent mains. So if you ban MK thinking they main him, then they turn around and pull a Diddy on you, boom.

Because there are a lot of players who main solely one character.

I'm all for finding ways to make MK non-selectable in official tournament play, but this is definitely not a good one.

My question is, why do we need to ban characters?
inb4 MK, if you want to ban him there's no reason to make a large complicated rule subset because of that. Just ban MK and be done lol.

why do people adhere to the BBR?

Remember, they are only "recommending" rules for us.

If popular vote says "Ban Metaknight" and dominant tournament organizers in North America are willing to do so - BAN THAT *****.

WE DON'T GIVE A **** ABOUT YO' GOD DAMN STICKY BBR-RC!

EAT A ****

^^Many dominant TOs are in the BBRC lolol.

Aren't MK-ban discussions supposed to be taboo? Oh well.

Unity will likely evolve to limit him enough to be perceived as okay.

The main issue wasn't that the BBR voted, but that even if they did say MK was banned, it wasn't enforceable. At the time, TO's wouldn't even follow the recommended rule set for stages. There shear level of variation by Tournament Organizers was insane back then, making a ban logistically improbable. Now the infrastructure for a ban is there, since you have the Unity Rule Set, where the major TOs are all bound by a pact with each other to follow it.

Because, they realized that when they work together, they can do more the community with a unified voice and purpose. You have discipline standards now from the Card system, due to the ability of the group forging accountability. You cannot have that when you are just a lone man on an island.

Doesn't help that there was a bunch of MK mains in BBR :troll:

Yes, please give us more "you can't do this" and "you can't do that." 500 gameplay rules later you might get MK mains annoyed to the point where they don't bother anymore and just pick a different character.

Yes, there are less MK mains in the BBR now than there was back when the popular vote was rejected because there was not enough support for a ban in the BBR.

BBR doesn't really matter for this anymore. BBRRC is what you should be wondering about.

Just because someone in the BBR mains MK, that doesn't mean they don't want him banned.

Overswarm is a good example.

After looking at John#'s data, there's no doubt in my mind that MK is overcentralizing.

Face it. He's not far off from having 50% of all tournament money and almost takes 50% of money each week, even with splits. That's a problem.

I don't think he's broken because people take games off of top MKs all the time, but you can't say he's not becoming the center of the game.
