Well, after playing Brawl+, there is no way in hell I can go back to VanillaBrawl. It's so slow and campy, I don't know how I survived.

Unfortunately, I've only played against CPU's. >_< Is there any place where people can set up online matches for Brawl+, or is it still too new?

The IRC Channel almost always has matches going on. It can be found in the OP, I think. Ionno.

PM me, we have a thread on the Brawl+ forums.
We're not allowed to link to it by posts.

Its not the smartest design, but being different isn't what makes it bad. I actually like Brawl for what it is.

Meh I'm a scrub though.
Plenty of us liked Brawl for what it was. In fact, pretty much anyone who disliked Brawl wanted nothing to do with the project when it first started! In this way, the project was fueled by people who liked Brawl and wanted to make it better. Now there's absolutely no reason to go backwards having improved the game.

I figured that out shortly after I asked. I kinda like ocarina for what it is, but I may change in the future if something about Gecko interests me.
First off, unlike ocarina, geckoOS actually won't treat the clock like it's been reset every time you boot a game with it. More importantly, geckoOS allows you to actually access your sd card during gameplay. With ocarina, it was impossible to save or access replays on your sd card, although geckoOS fixes that.

Also, when geckoOS 2.0 is released, it will become mandatory for brawl+, since we will be making use of .gpf files, a new type of temporary code file exclusive to geckoOS 2.0. Ocarina was discontinued some time ago, and so will not be receiving any future updates.

That was one of the most annoying things when I first started using Ocarina. I'll definitely start using GeckoOS now.

Hey jiang, you should add my last post under the question "Why should I load my codes with GeckoOS over Ocarina?"

Also, under the part where you talk about buffering, I noticed you mentioned using the cstick while in your shield. If you're not in shieldstun, this will cause you to perform an action. I don't remember whether brawl interprets it as a roll or a grab, though. Say that if you press A while still in shieldstun and you end up getting knocked off, making you perform a nair. Probably a more likely situation anyway.

And... the brawl+ brigade group now has 166 members! You can change that to say "over 150" now, instead of just "over 100." =)

Hm...I see. I just downloaded the codes so I haven't been paying too much attention to recent developments. I do have another question though: Say I wanted to start making codes myself. Where would I start?

Just wanted to leave my appreciations here:

Brawl+ is great, you are doing an awesome job.
Before, Brawl got boring after a few matches, but now we can't stop playing it once we begin ;)

To all those nay-sayers: Opinions are based on information and experience with the subject - test it, then decide.

I can't wait seeing an 'official codeset'. Until then, keep up the good work.

That would require you to own a usb gecko, which costs around $50 iirc. It's not a cheap investment.

Awesome, it's good to see a standard start developing from the b+ broom. I've been hyped to see this set for a while now! Jiggly and fox are just too fun with this set.

Updated FAQ.
You failed to mention that this is the first *beta* of the official codeset. I just don't want people getting overly excited, it's not like they're done. People could easily miss that while furiously copying stuff to their sd cards.

I really like it how there aren't many (that I know of) repetitive combos... I was afraid that since brawl wasnt built to have these combos, that the combos would be boring broken or repetitive.

The metagame for the chars i like have increased in interesting ways and I love it!! CHECK B+ OUT

just saying, but to be honest the OP looks a bit messy, like you just keep adding stuff, losing the overview

There should be a code that lets Fox, and Falco, move freely while lasering in the air instead of having fixed momentum

Looks really good now, however, a section for PAL players would be nice too, as they may be confused about the compability of codes.
The differences between NTSC and PAL have to be pointed out more clearly.

But apart from that, it looks pretty much perfect.

I think the way you've got it set up right now, people might read the first two questions and think you're trying to make Melee 2.0, and then read the third one and just go away :). If point 2 was "Are you trying to create Melee 2.0?" with stuff like "no, it's brawl + not melee +, we want to combine the best parts in brawl with the best parts of melee, see lack of wavedashing, etc. etc. etc." then the point will be much clearer. Plus you can move the melee 2.0 stuff out of point 5, and in response to the wavedash question (10) you could link to an old discussion about how wavedashing isn't needed.

edit: Ah you want the recommended codesets (mooki, kupo, muba) as pal-versions? Sorry, don't have them.
Just my own codeset below.

Well yeah, I can give you mine.
However, it's not really up-to-date, in contrary to the Brawlplusery Codeset, but I guess it's okay for starters. Some important codes are entirely missing :x. In addition, the codes are not really well described as I honestly don't know the values for i.e. Hitstun (as I copied these codes simply from another PAL board). Feel free to add information to it.

When PK translates the Brawlplusery Codes to PAL, this will be worthless though :p

I see that the link is down, and if you want to link to my page I always try and host the latest version of this codeset. I have the latest (as of feb. 13th), which can be found here.

Just helping fellow b+ers out.

Do you have to actually buy any extra software/hardware to play Brawl+? Or do you just download Gecko OS etc.?
Its completely free, you just need to have the Twilight Hack done on your Wii and have an SD card and the ability to edit it.

Melee Air Dodge isnt in the official set and probably wont be ever.

Ledge sweetspot sometimes works. If you hit something or play Lucario, Ness, or Lucas you have it.
