I do not know if this is the correct topic for this question, but has anyone done any more research into Samus/Zero Suit transformation? The last I heard you could switch between the two but the problem was the code also let bowser go giga, wario become super wario man, and samus could just spam transform for easy projectiles.

Not sure if such switching would be OP for the two though...

IMO, it wouldnt be OP if she only gets one set of armor pieces per match. It doesnt seem very necessary though since like Zelda/Sheik, the two characters dont have much of a reason to switch.

The platforms on Onett don't even give you any extra defense at all, that's why whole point. The only moves they block are projectiles and most projectiles that can go straight down and get interrupted by them can also be controlled.

Not to mention if you jump on the top one.....twice I think, both of them fall down.

samus mines could use work. They should auto explode on enemy contact (no warmup timer) and samus should get less a delay to use an attack during a mine jump. Also, they should interrupt whatever action she is doing if they explode on her (mine cancels)

They were already planning to work on fixing Samus' bombs.
We're not supposed to be talking about changes either.

That being said about these platforms is about the same as almost every other platform in this game. And the platforms don't take but a second to come back.

I know the platforms don't fall down that fast as I just tested it a little bit. Using a Bowser, a heavy in case it matters, I jumped between the two platforms slowly until they fell. I made a complete landing after every jump. It took about 12 jumps, give or take 1-2, each and every time.

I also did a secondary test with just the top and bottom platforms separate. This time it took about 7-8 jumps, on the top or bottom only, before the sign knocked the platforms down.

After the sign landed on the ground, it took a little over seven and a half seconds before the platforms reappeared, tested with a stopwatch.

The stage would be wider, with a more open, nice looking, less campy feel without the platforms, I think.

The stage would be the exact same except you couldn't stand at an elevated position in the middle anymore.

I really fail to see how fallthroughs aid camping.

I didn't know it took that many jumps/came back that fast though.

Me neither. It was a surprising result. If I really had to, I could test jumping on the two platforms with everyone, but I'd rather not.

Whatever works I guess. I think that it'd be really cool without middle platforms. It'd almost remind me of another version of Smashville, the look and feel of the stage like a town, with a more open main area, that is.

The thread is actually going pretty well. There were at least 1-2 people that were interested. You guys have to remember that smash bros isn't exactly taken seriously by everyone else in the gaming community. lol

the thread title alone screams noob to me. Reminds me of Carrie, really.
If I were able to get Gorze or Ocean to register on Smashboards and post their first post, I'm quite sure their first post would be in reply to that post with the image "Sage" you loathed back when you used to visit Shadow Monarchy ;)

I'm disinclined to play this mod if only because it removes tripping, the outrage over said mechanic having shown me how unbelievably nerd ragey the smashboard/etc community is.

Tripping. Really. It throws your meticulously calculated, mathematically perfect game off? One trip and your entire match is ruined 4evar?
...

I don't understand.

I really can't relate to these people. First of all, most of them just randomly play the game "for fun." I can respect that. But they also seem to SHUN people who try to play Smash competitively, 'cause it's a "party game."

They really don't know what they're talking about, so it's kind of depressing to read...

Tripping was a freaking dumb piece of ****. As in freaking Sakurai's head on crack when he made tripping.

I thought it was two different combo videos, and that they would have two different players and stuff, hence the they.

I only remember the Purple Candy part with that one, and I always mistake it for Purple Stuff too.

Don't.

They are all kinda bad and wouldn't really do anything good for this community.
Wow. I didn't want to say anything because I thought it was just me. The videos will get better with time though as more people get into this game.

People in general play games for fun. Whoever thinks that tourney players aren't playing for fun is a fool headed goat.

If we're just playing to win, we won't play Brawl+... >.>
We play Brawl+ for fun. They don't understand.
Why play a game we don't like, when there's a much better one? lol

Also... back to tactical discussion.
