Ok, Gary was good but it's kind of hard to decide which is better: Silver or Gary?

I personally prefer Silver, but that's just me.
Gary is definetly my second favorite rival.

I agree with you on at least fourth gen though. In third gen, you really didn't have a rival, but in 4th gen, your rival was annoying. Very annoying. In fact it's one of the reasons I really don't like progressing the story.
I prefer Silver as well for one major reason: HE STOLE HIS STARTER POKEMON. It doesn't get more badass than that. Gary is awesome (His theme is my favorite), but he played by the rules, which while honorable, doesn't have the same impact as Silver, the best rival of all time.

The First generations- Red, Blue, and Yellow, was good atleast th poke'mon look like what they suppose to look like.

Second Generations- Silver, Gold, and Crystal- I personally love silver and crystal. Crystal because the graphics look nicer and there the optionsof joing your sex. And Neo poke'mon looks awesome.

Laters- Ruby, Saphire, and Elmerald- Well, I can deal with it, but to me this gen was rather poor and boring. Really bother me when in this gen, there was no poke'mon tha evole at level 56 Like Dragonair and Pupitar. Sure there is more tactis invole since there is 2 vs 2 battle

Latest- Daimond, Peral, Platinum, Reign of the Dragons- Well, I`m happy that there is more dragon type. Like I mention before about not having a poke'mon that evole at level 56. bother me.

Future- Soul Silver and Heart Gold- I hope they did not butch the original to much. I really hope they still have Ice Punch as a TM like they did back in the old version.

Really? Silver is such a stereotypical villain, I thought he was moreso funny than a 'badass.' It's like Gamefreak took some random villain from a crappy anime and gave him a Pokemon.

Gary was the best rival. "Smell ya later!" Ah, too good.

Definitely agreed. Silver was a villian, Gary was a truer definition of rival...

Lots of things were fleshed out, plus battle frontier was epic. The environments were unique and I liked some of the design choices and music.

2
Like the designs, expansions and the new types brought something new. Night and day was a good idea among other things.

1
Far too basic imo, but good otherwise.

4
This is where it just started to look as if they were just trying to make money. A lot of the pokemon are designed badly or like as if they came from anime. And now it's as if some pokemon were just made to be marketed, put in films or the cartoon and so on.

II - While I do think that this gen. was not as creative as the others, Gold, Silver, and Crystal are still the longest games in the series and has given the most gameplay improvement compared to the other Gens. It has also felt the most like true sequels. Ex. eggs, gender, hold items, character gender, new types, shinies, evolutions,

IV - So far it has not gone as far as the II gen. (thanks to the III gen.), but it has given wi-fi, the best story line, the most (and coolest) legendarys yet, and so far has had more competive play then past gens. Battling wise however, has done nothing to improve upon it. Plus the upcoming remakes of II gen. gives this Gen. a lot more going for it than the previous Gens. before it.

I - This Gen. has had the biggest impact over, not just the entire series, but the world. Period.

III - While I enjoy this Gen. a lot, and has been the longest lasting in terms of the number of games. It has done really nothing to help move the series along. Having to rely on remakes and mediocre spin off games to keep going, has only set series backfarther. The only good things are the new natures and ability, which has only made gameplay harder. Also, no one even likes pokemon contests.

Opinions can't be wrong. You're thinking of facts that could possibly be considered wrong.
I was kidding, I know opinions can't be wrong, I'm just probably the biggest 3rd gen. fanboy you might ever find so yeah...I was kidding >_>

i think the first generation was the best because well it had the best legendaries in my opinion you had aritcuno, moltres, zapdos, ho-oh(i think that was just in the show though) mew, mewtwo, and i think a few more. i think that the second generation was the worst well because of the pokemon they had. i just didnt like them much. when i used to have silver that was my least played pokemon game just because of that. i didnt like snubull quillfish bayleaf and many more

my favorate generation is 2, then 4, then 1, and 3 is my least favorate because the gyms and elite 4 were very bad; they repeated and used unevolved pokemon in the elite 4:lick:

They don't seem that far apart to me.

Generation One had the great game structure and the unreasonably cool monsters, but it lacked balance and placed too much emphasis on capturing rather than raising. A + B + DOWN

Gen. II featured Misdreavus (cool, if a bit weird) and a bit more balance, but the game wasn't as pleasant as the first, nor were the monsters as cool.

The Blaziken Generation was hideously unbalanced just because of the sheer number of monsters, but it grasped me and kept me held against its malformed teat for a good while. It was balanced, well-arranged, and shimmery, but it was not cool or social anymore. It was curt, spitting, "Here's-your-game-so-play-it".

Generation 4 featured drastic gameplay balance, but the game itself was very...veeeeryyyy...SLOW. No longer were the new monsters cool, nor the gameplay stimulating. The whole gambit lacked the intuitive power of the first; instructions are needed just to figure out how to enter the Decoration Square. It was a sticker book, a cereal box, a charade at complexity.

The television show predicted Shoddy Battle. Remember the Graveler that shrugged off Water Gun in the early days?

wow..... so many peopl hate gen 3........ i LOVED it!!!! amazing and memorable pokemon(my top 5 are prolly all from this region). gret landscape. and for me, memorable gym leaders such as wattson, and tate and liza, and winona... the only one i can decide on for #1
and although i liove ALL the other 3 as well...
ill say:
1:III
2:I (firered and leafgreen.. not the original first gen)
3:IV
4:II the reason this is at the end is because whenever i tried playing it i just CUOLDNT get very far.... i couldnt beat it..it was too tedious for me to continue. but hopefully that changes with the GSC sequels!!!!

I thought a lot of 3rd gen Pokemon looked weird. 4th has my favorite Pokemon, a lot of awesome looking Pokemon, and I like how they split up attacks into physical, special, and status attacks instead of using those stats based on type.

2nd gen had more Pokemon I liked than 1st and so on. xP

This is a real toughie for me.

1ST GEN:
THE generation of Pokemon. The classic one, the one that started it all. I think it deserves pretty high placement for that.

2ND GEN:
Most people seem to be siding with this gen for the #1 spot, and rightfully so, somewhat. Great sequel for a great series, so it deserves high placement also.

3RD GEN:
A GREAT generation. The Battle Frontier, the diversity of the region's terrain, and the pokemon are still great.

4TH GEN:
Errm, here's where the complaints come in. Okay, I still LOVED the 4th generation, but... it didn't give me the feeling, y'know? The region was... okay. The pokemon were... alright. They totally went overboard with the legendaries. There ARE a few new features that are (at least somewhat) interesting, though.

So...

I can't decide.

I actually like all the gens to be honest, but....

2nd would have to be my favourite...
while 4th my least.

3rd and 1st are tied for 2nd place for me.

For mre it would be
1st: 2nd Gen (By Far)
2nd: 4th Gen
3rd: 1st Gen
4th: 3rd Gen

To me, the 2nd and 4th Gen are way better than the 1st and 3rd. The 4th Gen felt a tad bit like 1st and
3rd due to twinleaf town having the Exact same set-up. 2nd Gen had a completely different set-up.

1. 2nd gen
2. 4th gen
3. 3rd gen
4. 1st gen

rite now im wondering just how HGSS is gonna turn out, to me one of the things that made 2nd gen were the graphics and nostalgia. and i dont really like the idea of the partner system

1st gen is the best cuz it has muk, and muk, and diglet, and muk, as well as the pokemon from my fantasies(c sig).

the worst one in my opion is the 3rd and current one, they new pokemon seem to just be pulled out of people's *** and then were put in a game. I want them to continue making games and new pokemon, but not like 100 each gen

The best generation is the 2nd one by far.

It's the only one that makes you go through so many badges. It even lets you battle "yourself" from Gen 1, aka Red. Gary is the ****ing Gym leader of the Viridian Gym, dude THAT is awesome. Basically, a Pokémon game has low replay value, but it's really made to be played once you beat the Elite 4. So in Gen 2 they used this concept and make you go MUCH further than any other Gen. Gen 1, remade for the GBA, did something similar. I call Gen 2, all in. I cried when I headed to Kanto for the first time.

All in all, in think 4th Gen is the worst. You have to put aside all the gadgets and cool things and broken moves or what not. That's the hardware that makes developpers had to the game (the touchscreen / having 2 screens). Yeah sure, by 4th gen the moves are more balanced/fixed, but the generation itself is very so-so. The 1st was epic, the 2nd found a way to do better and the 3rd Gen was full of life and had a great storyline.

Best : 2nd Generation
Worst : 4th Generation

Just for the hell of it, my personnal choice : 2nd > 1st > 3rd > 4th

Yes and I can't wait for HG/SS.

Thing is, they aren't "4th gen", they're just 2nd gen remakes while in the 4th gen. The 4th gen period is okay, it's the 4th Pokémon game that I didn't appreciate as much.

I just didn't find it as memorable. Heck I played 3rd gen after 4th and liked it better because of the story and etc.

4th gen's news gadgets and graphics are great. I'm not one to get all giddy over nice graphics but hey, they don't hurt. So 2nd gen with the greatness of 4th gen, will be awesome

It's hard for me to pick the best as I like 3 out of the 4 gens of pokemon. RBY, GSC, DPPt are the ones I like most. RBY and GSC for the obvious reasons. Gen 4 has fantastic pokemon design with the exception of a few legendarys. Garchomp, Infernape, Togekiss, a lot of great looking pokemon and I love how vibrant the colors were this gen. It reminds me of the first that way. A lot of the new pokemon are competitive and even those that aren't as much are still capable of being used on teams without being overly gimmicky. Lickitung compared to Zangoose, who looks cool but sucks. Tons of new battle items that can really give a boost to underused and OU pokemon.

I hate the 3rd gen because it's just so bland. The artwork is dull, everything is the same color. The world is boring and the majority of the pokemon introduced are more UU crap. There are some pokemon I like but the majority are incredibly lame. RSE did give us two 600 BST beasties but aside from that I really didn't like this gen. Plus this gen didn't give us any eeveelutions.
