I love all of the Generations of Pokemon.
I grew up, ever since I was able to play a Gameboy (2 1/2 years of age) I loved Pokemon Red and Kanto.
Later in life, from 5+, I enjoyed the wonders of Johto as well.
Even later, age 8 or 9+, I embarked on my journey through the Hoenn region.
And finally, so far, I have ventured through Sinnoh.
Personally, my list from most to least favourite Generations are:
1. Kanto, from peaceful little memories never to be forgotten...
2. Johto/Hoenn (I am not going to put one in front of the other) Johto was an incredible adventure. And memories of driving through the State of Oregon while playing Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald amazed me.
3. Sinnoh, I am not all that impressed by the Sinnoh region, some of the newer Pokemon look a little... Foolish, if you will. However I still enjoyed Platinum.
The Pokemon Anime series started to go downhill since past the half way point of Ash's Hoenn adventures. The episodes in Sinnoh are disappointing indeed.
The ones in Kanto and Johto made sense and were funny, same to a certain extent with Hoenn, but Sinnoh is not for Ash.
The films of Pokemon, however, have not yet lost their shine. I enjoy all of the 12(?) films, from Mewtwo Strikes Back to Giratina and the Sky Warrior.
Pokemon 2000: The Power of One was the most touching and best one in my opinion.
