Because of the way DM posts. He seems to be unsure what he should say most of the time.

Anyway, if that makes you happy:

Explain utter bull ****. I know it wasnt exactly the most informative post, but as it has been said multiple times, being quiet is a lot worse than otherwise and those were my thoughts about the night phase at least.

What reaction are you trying to get out of me?
Oh, okay. Let's do this step by step.

Has there been any one person in this game who hasnt actually posted yet?
BS question. How about actually doing some work and looking up the information yourself and reporting it to us? Did you expect anyone to care about this?

Or was it rhetorical? In that case....that's BS.

Mafia lynching someone inactive rather than (to them) obvious pro-town is unexpected. They either were being merciful (why would they though?) due to the crashboards/whatever or had an idea about Dastrns role.
Again, total BS. You have someone who's obvious pro-town? No, you don't. This amazing insight into Dastrn's death is a whole lot of nothing. It really sounds like you're just talking just to talk.

If only we knew whether or not Dastrn actually attempted to use his role.

Tis Nice we are getting some activity now.
Oh right. I know you've got noobie johns but you should know how a cop works. Even if this is some kind of untraditional cop and he did use his power during the day it's not like he went after anyone hard. If only we knew! We could have so much valuable information! Such BS.

And yes, it's very nice we're getting some activity. So I dunno, how about COMMENTING ON THE FREAKIN' ACTIVITY AND NOT JUST FEEDING US USELESS CRAP ABOUT THE NIGHT PHASE???

It's like gee, I have no opinions, I'm not contributing, and I'm saying things that are unimportant. But I'm not silent! Yays!

Alright, I apologize in advance for all of that and I'm not trying to intimidate you into posting or be personally mean. So let me help you out by giving you some questions to think about and answer.

These can actually apply to everyone if someone else wants to step up and answer them.

1: Of the five people who didn't vote on day 1 (Omni doesn't count) who has been most insincere about their newfound activity?

2: What is your opinion of Reflex now, and why isn't there a wagon on him again on day 2? What does this make you think about the 6 people who voted for him on day 1?

3: What is your opinion on Marc specifically? What if I told you that traditionally he always gets killed before day 2?

4: Dastrn voted for Swordgard along with me. I still have not explained why I voted for him day 1. Swordgard barely mentioned something about this early on day 2 and nothing has come up about me at all after that. I really expected some kind of push on me, why hasn't this happened?

5: Why does no one seem to notice that Adumb has basically flat out said that unless there are two Cyans in the game that Swordgard cannot be Cyan?

just to comment on your #5 really fast

Oh, and by the by? Keep your identity secret. Trust me on that one. Don't give out your character name, ability, nothing.
hinting that flavor talk should be kept to a minimum for some unknown reason

also, swordgard did not claim cyan. edrees made the assumption based on the new posting restriction that seems to have been passed down to him overNight

everyone has a good amount of info on me so i'll give my answers to the rest of the questions near the end of the list as not to give anyone any piggybacking ideas

Why do think Hilt is intentionally trying to stay low?
Guts feeling. Hilt is, as far as I know, one of the more experienced players here, and he's been online pretty much daily, so his inactivity is hard to be explained.

1: Of the five people who didn't vote on day 1 (Omni doesn't count) who has been most insincere about their newfound activity?

2: What is your opinion of Reflex now, and why isn't there a wagon on him again on day 2? What does this make you think about the 6 people who voted for him on day 1?

2: Good point you're raising. Why is there no bandwagon against Reflex? Aside from his posting during the night, he never posted again. DarkMusician and Hilt on the other hand actually are posting now.

3: This question and statement are metametagaming. I don't see how Marc getting usually killed before day 2 in other mafia games relates to us?

5 was already answered by Omni pretty much.

Lovely. I prefer answering questions.

Now I know im still picking on what you guys call meta, even though its been said that it should be ignored...
From what Ive read about possible Mafia roles, there can be a mafia who can follow someone who if they do indeed do a night action, reveal their roles. I think it was meant to be the opposite of a cop. As Dastrn was hardly active first day, it leaves me questioning whether or not he actually used his investigator abilities. If he was more active, I could assume such a mafia-role exists. Im probably grasping at straws on the whole thing though, as most seem content that his death was random.

1: Of the five people who didn't vote on day 1 (Omni doesn't count) who has been most insincere about their newfound activity?
TheReflexWonder, Edrees, DarkMusician, Omni (snare), Shadowlink, Hilt,

Basing off seeing Reflex post elsewhere on the boards, his lack of activity / voting seems completely off to me. Edrees has stated his crashboards reason + generally not being around on the weekend (I received the same complaint back when I was doing the tier list). DarkMusician hasnt really given anything, which irks me. ShadowLink has not really posted anything... and because searching is down I cannot tell whether or not hes being truthful about being completely smashboardsless (I know he posts a lot !). Hilt I didnt spot what his reasons were, but hes been active today thus far.

2: What is your opinion of Reflex now, and why isn't there a wagon on him again on day 2? What does this make you think about the 6 people who voted for him on day 1?
The reasons for bandwagonning him were for inactivity. Even though he was still posting on the boards... I was one of the people willing to vote for him at that point.

3: What is your opinion on Marc specifically? What if I told you that traditionally he always gets killed before day 2?
Marc has been helpful. If he truthfully dies before day 2 on a regular basis, I can only link that between him either over-posting or under-posting. I dont see him doing either at the moment. So in what situation is he often putting himself in to get such a reputation?

4: Dastrn voted for Swordgard along with me. I still have not explained why I voted for him day 1. Swordgard barely mentioned something about this early on day 2 and nothing has come up about me at all after that. I really expected some kind of push on me, why hasn't this happened?
There are a lot of avenues that are being explored at the moment. I think that the votes that came about on swordgard could be seen as spouted from his restriction. If you were to explain what you were thinking something else may happen, but most people are probably content with the notion you did it due to the obscurity. I, however, had not noticed there was a connection between you and dastrn at this point, thanks for pointing it out.

5: Why does no one seem to notice that Adumb has basically flat out said that unless there are two Cyans in the game that Swordgard cannot be Cyan?
Could you point this out for me? I thought he said that the cyan-esque restriction coming from day-2 only is weird, right?

-

After going through your questions my suspicions of ShadowLink grew (after trying to see if he posted at all around day-1 ending time, GAH SEARCH DISABLED). On the other hand, ShadowLink, .joel and adumbrodeus have (in the past few days) felt the need to all get in contact with eachother through MSN/AIM. I know thats information coming from outside, but the coincidence is odd.

I don't see any reason why this is of any importance.

Keep in mind rule 3 of the fundamentals:
Unless your role PM specifically allows you the power, you are not to communicate with anyone about this game outside of this game thread. This includes posting content outside of the game thread and linking to it in the game thread.
Assuming it is of importance: If these conversations were about this game (and we would be scum), then why would I publically post in ShadowLink's or adumbrodeus' profile asking for their IM? That would leave exactly the "hints" that you are presenting now.

Besides this, adumbrodeus and ShadowLink didn't "feel the need to get in contact" with each other. If there was a connection between adumbrodeus contacting me for my AIM, and me asking ShadowLink for his MSN, then here is a few questions for you:
1.) Why aren't "we" using the same IM client? This would only be a hindrance in our communication, if we WERE talking about mafia via IM.
2.) Why aren't we "cloaking our traces" and use PMs for this?

When all is set and done, there's nothing wrong with me contacting ShadowLink, and adumbrodeus trying to contact me (which I completely forgot about, thanks for reminding me).

Usually they do, but even then, it's nothing concerning the game.

Keep in mind that outside of the game, I'm a direct section leader, the director of member relations in the BBR. I WILL have to talk to other BBRoomers.

You forget swordgard.

But I consider Joel and SL personal friends and get into contact with them pretty often, there's honestly no way I could avoid SL because he and I are part of the same tournament scene so we just run into each other all the time anyway and just last week we were planning on hanging out and training in melee. Joel I was talking to in regards to his position in the BBR, I looked into something that I found a little disturbing and I wanted to talk to him about it before bringing a recommendation to HAM.

You'd have to be pretty low to cheat in a game of mafia, but keep in mind, there may be people who are able to communicate about the game outside of the game.

But, honestly, if that's the case, who would be stupid enough to leave an obvious trail like that? There's simply no advantage to it.

I may not have had the time to read through this entire thread earlier (it's moving at a fast pace), but I stop in from time to time. I don't feel the need to make excuses for myself. Hopefully I can make myself worthwhile instead of having to say, "SCHOOL IS HARD" or "I'M SOOOO BUSY" and get off the hook that way.

That being said, I agree with .joel's earlier post--DarkMusician has contributed so little to the discussion; despite the fact that he's probably posted more often than I have, I feel like in my sporadic play, I've said more to benefit from, for better or for worse (as far as my survival is concerned). Makes me Wonder.

You missed my point apparently. I was talking about how you made a comment about Dastrn's death, placed a vote, and that was all.
The placement of the vote was of course, to place pressure upon DM who hasn't said anything.
Heck even some opinion regarding Dastrn might have been appreciated since it does display concern.
Nothing about your suspicions, no comments on anything anyone said. That's what I was talking about.I just woke up XD my sleep schedule is pretty ****ty, but it's not really possible to post while asleep.
Sleeping johns?
I doubt it takes 10 minutes to simply post anything.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but nobody else said anything about you. If you're referring to the beginning of my post, nobody had acknowledged the fact that it could have been a vigilante kill with mafia being blocked.
I think the reason no one mentioned vigilante is because there really is no reason for the vigilante to go out and about killing people.
He/She/It would have little reason since it may only further cause harm rather than good.

That wasn't a repeat, but I could be mistaken. I was merely posting why there are too many possibilities to figure out the reason for a death. I gave my suspicions, my stance, and put a not-so obvious pressure vote on a player that I felt could contribute more than he did. Getting a little defensive?
Nupe.
I always hear that too.
*sigh* no people skills. =(

@Shaya: There was an issue that i had wished to discuss with him and Brody since it regarded SBR. Why wouldn't we contact the person in charge of relations?
As my inactivity, once search is going, knock yourself out,I really don't have the time right now to post on SB.

When I am active I post in pretty much every thread I have interest in.

What's with these FoS's and Votes on DarkMusician?

He's a new player, and from what I can tell, he isn't scummy. Everyone is jumping on him because of inactivity, but there are others who have been just as inactive. Some of you are being a little too quick to jump on him, which doesn't bode well.

Using "inactivity" as an excuse to lynch him doesn't get us ANYWHERE. It's very anti-town, because once he flips Town, everyone who voted for him will say "HE WAS AN INACTIVE," and we don't gain any information. There's no way of proving anyone who bandwagon'd him to be scum from this either, based on this reasoning.

I'm not sure if you missed Overswarm's post, but it was revealed by OS that Swordgard messed up his restriction, he made an error. So it wasn't necesarrily passed on to him, there's a good chance he still wasn't supposed to use it yet...

Okay, huge influx of activity. I've spent the time to read everything. To answer who I think is most anti town, for me it's between Hilt and DarkMusician as well. And you guys clarified that Hilt has more experience, so I'm gonna lean towards voting for Hilt for now

This was already explained by many people. I asked the same question. The point of bandwagon inactives is to force them into activity, and spur a spread of information we have on everyone. The more information that is exchanged, the more likely chance that the town is the victor. It doesn't mean we are gonna lynch the inactives. That's why unvote exists and why people commonly switch their votes. It's kind of a "guilty until proven innocent" technique, where once you defend yourself and provide information why people should doubt voting you, then the bandwagon is switched onto another inactive member. There is no harm in pressuring as many players as we possibly can until we find someone who says something really suspicious.

Oh, one more thing. Another person I do find to be anti town is Reflex. Nobody seems to know why Reflex was able to post in the night phase!? I'm leaning towards DEFINITELY voting for Reflex and not changing my votes. We almost lynched him last time, perhaps we should just finish the job. I really don't trust the fact that he can post at night without punishment.

you're extremely late for toDay's party.

reread the entire content of toDay's posts. it addresses everything that you've stated including votes on inactives, bandwagons, pressure votes, and more. from what u can tell is only 4 posts so in all seriousness you can't tell anything. there have been plenty of players who play the newbie card and were psuedocleared town (i.e. me).

using inactivity for a reason to vote him to get him to start being more active gets us moving. again, you're under the impression that bandwagon = death which is why you need to reread the last few pages so u can get clarification on that subject

anway, Bardull, who do you think the play is for the day

i do agree that Reflex is lynch potential.

i believe Overswarm stated that Reflex could have received warnings/punishments via PM. something to the extent of them not having to be public. basically, i don't think we can confirm if Reflex received a warning/punishment unless Overswarm tells us this information directly

can u tell us this, OS?

Man this thread moves fast.

I can understand why everyone is one me so hard because I haven't contributed much. At the same time I don't like repeating what people have said. I feel that it's waste of time.

And concerning me not voting for the lynch I feel very responsible for screwing that up because I was so busy that I forgot to cast my vote. I should've voted earlier while I had the time but uncertainty/noob so yeah. I know we still would've been one short but I still feel bad for not doing my part. On that note I agree with Edrees' point that maybe we should finish the job.

And while I understand that you guys are getting on me for not posting I do feel that I am making an honest effort to do so now so unless you're trying to get some sort of reaction out of me I'm curious as to why people continue to vote for me.

I am aware of this, but 6 votes was cutting it a little too close for my palette. If I hadn't voiced a dissenting opinion, I wonder what would have happened?

I think Swordgard is the play for toDay, Omni.

Shaya's meta seems rather iffy and isn't something I'd bank on. That'd make me Mafia with every other player in the game, pretty much. Something to keep in mind perhaps, but I support Scamp's notion that he often seems to be talking just to talk.

Unvote

There's still time. Not saying I'm satisfied with everything Hilt posted per se, but my vote was mainly for activity pressure. Not sure why this snowballed into such a bandwagon, but I'm glad people are voting at least.

3: What is your opinion on Marc specifically? What if I told you that traditionally he always gets killed before day 2?
That's not entirely true, although there have been several games where I was a lightningrod for early game night actions. Kind of depends on who I'm playing with. Thanks for painting a target on my back though. I'll return the favour by saying you usually get lynched early game. :p

5: Why does no one seem to notice that Adumb has basically flat out said that unless there are two Cyans in the game that Swordgard cannot be Cyan?
I noticed, but why would you want to discuss that even further? =/ Swordgard has a posting restriction on Day 2 that seems forced on him and apparently can't be the character that comes to mind, but where does that leave us? I think people need to be more careful with their identity, there might be mechanics or roles (Lyncher for example) in play having to do with names.

Unless I missed it, adumbrodeus still owes us a case against Omni.

Wow...

I think its pretty obvious on which posting restriction I messed up edreese. Its not the one I got inflicted with, its my original one.

I will vote for bardull because tbh I feel like he is using again outdated info for no reason and fails at using bandwagons. I mean seriously I love the whole "yeah those are fake restrictions" despite me getting punished for not following my first one right.

Also, the post bardull just made contained no reasoning, its purely based on other people's ability to comes out with their own. He probably has no reasoning and just wants me lynched, maybe out of fear or because he's mafia.

Wait...you were voting for DM because you honestly believe he is scum? I thought the bandwagon was just for pressure, aye Chibo? Explain your reasoning why you voted for DM, if it wasn't for pressure.

In any event, I think it's pretty clear what Swordgard's restriction is. Hahahaha.

I voted him for pressure and inactivity. Doesn't mean there isn't a chance that he's scum. You were quick to try and defend him and get ppl to stop voting him asap. Seems like some scumteam defense.

Or maybe it's not a restriction and Swordgard actually has this tendency to OMGUS vote everyone that votes for him. What worries me most is that, if it's a restriction, why is it that he's trying to justify each and every OMGUS vote he makes?

And if it's not a restriction, then I can certainly do without a player that acts like this during end game.

Ninja'd by Chibo.

What I don't understand, Chibo, is why you feel "more confident" in your vote based on the fact that I stood up for DarkMusician. He hasn't said anything scum worthy and is making an honest effort to get himself further involved to help Town.

6 votes is more than enough to get someone talking, Chibo. If I hadn't said anything, it's possible that two more individuals would have hopped on board and put the nail in the coffin "because he was inactive."

The fact that you're now gunning for him moreso because of me is very, very interesting.

I've played enough mafia games to know when Chibo is acting strange. This feels like one of them. Normally he's much more helpful, informative, and aggressive in his scumhunting tactics and information gathering but he's playing rather passive this game. /end Omni personal meta.

From this game's perspective I agree with BarDull. Chibo's attempt to validate his vote on DarkM seems forced and wreckless. It's also safe and easy and requires no kind of commitment. Also, BarDull was not the first person to "defend DarkM" in the manner that DarkM is new to the game.

Bad taste in mouth is bad. Plus I'm always cool with Chibo dying so I can confirm if Overswarm's warning: "Don't rely on flavor or you'll get screwed," lines up with his oh-so obvious post restriction that oh-so obviously reveals his character.

If you're gonna try and meta me Omni you should look into it a bit better. I really don't do my crazy game analysis and what not and be incredibly active until theres a bit fewer people in the game. In a larger game like this (in comparison to games were in that start with like 9) and the amount of inactives, its a lot harder to get into off the bat.
