Well.... I just got back 20 minutes ago.... Royal isn't on, though I told him I would be home late. I will be leaving my house at like 5:30 tomorrow morning and won't get back till late next night as well. Any chance of a time extension? There's no clear player at fault here. We were both active, tried to find eachother at the right times, but they haven't been able to match up.

It's the finals so it was best 3 out of 5... You won the first two matches and I won the last three.

First match: FMOI (Ice Climbers) vs Tear (Zelda) on Pokemon Stadium. Tear wins by two stock.
Second match: FMOI (Ice Climbers) vs Tear (Zelda) on Green Greens. Tear wins by one stock.
Third match: FMOI (Ice Climbers) vs Tear (Peach?) on Smashville. FMOI wins by one stock.
Fourth match: FMOI(Ice Climbers) vs Tear (Peach?) on Pokemon Stadium. FMOI wins by one stock.
Final match: FMOI (Ice Climbers) vs Tear (ZSS?) on Hyrule Temple. FMOI wins by three stocks.

It says this in the first post. It's Barge's decision so I'll just wait to see what he has to say.

Wait, how is that the finals!? I haven't been eliminated yet! It has to be the winners' semis.

*Shrugs*

I think I'm the only one left in the loser's bracket (with a phantom elimination), so I guess that makes me 3rd place one way or another, unless there's someone else. I guess I'll wait and see.

!!!IMPORTANT NOTE FOR WHOEVER I'M PLAYING!!!

I'm going to be up all night, and then I have work until 2pm Mountain time tomorrow. We could do things one of two ways: we could either play at about 2:30, when I get back, or we could play tomorrow night after I get up. It's your call, but give me a heads-up one way or another, alright? Thanks!

*Watches with interest*

I honestly don't know who I'd rather play.

Edit: Scratch that. I'd rather play against Ice Climbers than Zelda, hehe.

New round losers bracket up, it was easy on who to auto advance, now its only the people who are active left :D

FM: You'll be in in the next round losers bracket because you did your match early
Plus theres no one for you to fight

I'm upset because I felt like I couldn't do anything with one of my best characters. I main the whole cast and teach other people how to improve with their characters for Christ's sake...and I get the floor mopped with my face by someone 2/3 my age... It's not the losing that bothers me; it's losing because I didn't know how to handle the matchup which I should have known better considering the amount of research I do. I can stand losing; it's getting manhandled that bothers me...

It happens to all of us tourney guys, FMOI. Don't take it too hard. I know that doesn't count for much now, but hopefully you'll feel less bad about losing before long.

!!!THIRD REMINDER!!!

I get home from work today at about 2:00-2:30pm. I'll try to get my match done with Samusbrawler around or before then, but if I don't see him I'll have to play tonight. DO NOT GIVE ME A SECOND PHANTOM ELIMINATION BASED OFF OF THIS, AS I'M GIVING YOU VERY, VERY FAIR WARNING!!!

It's not about losing, it's about ignorance on my behalf. If I had one at least one, I would be fine because it would have shown that I had known what I was doing but that wasn't the case and it showed seeing how he didn't two/three stock me. You only lose 3 matches in a row if A) they're genuinely better than you B) you're not completely familar with your character or C) you're not completely familar with the matchup. It's pretty much C because I won the friendly matches and even three stocked her ZSS in the last match and, as I said, the Ice Climbers were one of my mains when I had mains several months ago. It's inexcusable, it really is; I didn't come prepared and I paid for it, simple as that. If I want to be one of the leading online directors on Smash Boards, I need to be as knowledgable as possible when it comes to the matchups and remain on par with this boards' best players.

Add in:

I aplogise if I'm coming off as a complete douche. I hate losing significantly, no matter what the event is. Fencing, raquetball, martial arts, etc; I'm very hard on myself because, despite being told otherwise over and over, losing consistently = failure in my eyes mainly because that's what was drilled into my head as a kid. I'm better about it then I used to be but it's still a problem of mine...

Well, I didn't see the match, so I'm not sure what exactly happened.

I can say this much, though. Zelda goes just about even with Ice Climbers if I remember correctly (and I think I do). She can absolutely wreck the CPU Ice Climber with her aerials, and this is the one time in which Zelda wins in a air-to-air situation. She's also extremely deadly up close AND far away to them.

As such, a well-played Zelda has roughly a 45-55% chance of winning against an equally well-played Ice Climbers. Considering that the matches game down to a single stock, Iwould say that the coin just landed on heads three times for your setup, which isn't a terrible thing.

And sometimes a person can just have your number. Brawl IS a guessing game a lot of the time. Sometimes even tournament-level matches devolve into a complicated game of rock, paper, scissors. If he was just in a zone and called what you were going to do every time, it's quite possible for him to reverse it exactly as you do it (hence the "psychic shoryuken" effect), especially online.

I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. You don't suck at this game. Neither does your opponent. If you lost, take something away from it. It would be boring to win every match you're in.

Whatever you do, don't drop out! I still want to face one of you in the finals! :bee:

(Edit: Also, don't make the extremely common mistake of assuming that an opponent won't learn from his mistakes! If you 3-stocked him previously, chances are good that he'll realize what you were doing in order to do that and be looking for that.)

Sent Delta a message awhile ago. He hasn't been on since yesterday, so I'm sure he'll pop up sooner or later.

Also, I'm confused as to how FMOI is still involved in the tournament. @_@ Assuming the loser's brackets matches go according to plan, the only time there'll be an "open" opponent is at the end, when the winner of the loser's bracket is declared. So...will FMOI face that person, and then the winner of that match will go on to face Royal? Or will they just fight, and there'll be two winners; one from winners and one from losers?

It's probably the former, but I just want to make sure I understand, lol. :bee:

Most losers brackets are this way, there'll be 3 or 5 people, so yeah, he'll fight the winner of another match, lolz.
