although, i never did use back roll against phantasm. always uptilt or fair if i read it early.

I usually Shippo Smash or Throw an AS (the latter ONLY of the 2nd jump has been used by falco)

Shippo Smash works best on Lylat/Battlefield, since it ALSO covers the early activation of phantasm onto the platform
Since the AS will usually have them do the following options

1. Ram into it
2. airdodge
3. reflect

options 2/3 have too much cooldown for falco to phantasm back on the stage, which will require him to use his up B, the awful predictable recovery

People need to learn how to edgeguard falco MUCH better

Steam, you're just thinking too much about it. Its a move that's too fast to think about because of that you just have to trust your instincts on it. If you feel as though Falco is gonna phantasm, use the move you think will hit. For me its Usmash because of that hitbox.

I powershield punish, or dtilt, usually falco's will shorthop reducing the effectiveness of dtilt.

air release works pretty well too, falco can still use his second jump out of pummel releasing

situational yea, but a footstool below the ledge/level itself is death for falco and anyone else with a shoddy vertical recovery
