The dates are fine as is. It's unfortunate that the dates can't accommodate everyone... in fact I don't think there's a single date out there can accommodate everyone for a national. But these dates were picked far in advance with reasoning behind them as Alex listed out.

Also, maybe its possible to have not important events happen on Friday.

Or have Melee stuff on Friday like what Pound 4 did since most Melee players are out of highschool. Then Melee will continue the next day along with the beginning of Brawl.

Id highly suggest the first option though. Like low tier, world vs us, crews, etc on Friday and pools for Melee/Brawl could begin Saturday.

Edit: Telling highschoolers to skip class on friday is not an option lol! They're in HIGHSCHOOL!! They probably aren't even 18 yet, how the hell are they going to have the authority on their parents to warrant skipping 6 hours of school for a videogame tournament?? Maybe 1 out of every 5 highschool kids could (maybe 2/5), but thats a majority of high schoolers that won't be able to skip.

Also the TOs of the qualifiers want to know if they have to follow Apex 2012 rules. Armada and some other people are pushing for European rules to have best of 5 for all bracket sets and have Brinstar, KJ64, and RC banned. Are you okay with the qualifiers doing this?

melee all day friday? oh nice. essentially thats one less headache i have to worry about...as in what time my flight comes in that friday. Now it doesnt matter
