this year we specifically told people to come in by flight to those designated areas on the front page meaning lax , long beach, sna, but now a lot of people are comming by bus.

As well as housing goes we offered 3 days but people still ask us to get them housing when its not our responsibility.

Smashers are a handful -_-.

Luckily the Oc3 staff is ready to handle all tasks.
Not all of us had enough money to pay for the flight Mike.

Since he's not here, yes he is. All 4 of us are going to be on the same bus. If you need his confirmation...well you'll just have to trust me for now :)

Does Arash ever go on AIM/Smashboards? PMs and everything aren't working for me right now, and I sort of need to confirm something with him :S

YO YO

I've tried combing the 89 pages or so of information looking for some answers already.

For recording friendlies, can we bring video cameras to use as VCR's? OR are cameras absolutely prohibited?

Because I heard we can use photo cameras as long as we don't use the video function. Wouldn't this be the same?

Apparently, the edit post button isn't working.

Forget my questions about cameras. I'm going to try and lug a VCR all the way from Texas. I hope they allow them on flights.

If not, I hope someone can assist me. I'll bing my own tapes if all else fails.

the thing is if you bring ur own vcr its like guaranteed u dont have to ask a random smasher to use his. Kirbykid since ur going all the way from texas why dont you ask some cali guy to lend a hand and share his vcr or something, it will save u the time and trouble on the plane carrying it. I would worry about carrying a sleeping bag or pillow first before a vcr.

On that note, I'll be bringing a bunch of tapes with me as well to record friendlies and MMs...

So if anyone is willing to lend their VCR to my cause, I'll donate a couple of tapes to you.
Sounds good, right? Right.

remember we will have friendly tvs before the tournament for recording only. NO CAMCORDERS ALLOWED, AND NO USING THE RECORD BUTTON ON YOUR CAMERAS. Strict measures will happen if you do so , so dont try it because we will be very serious on this matter.

So yes before and after the tournament you can hook up your vcrs to those friendly tvs and record as much as you like.

Any more questions feel free to ask its better you know the rules then have one of the staff members escort you out for not listening .

i have a question..

for crews.. will there be crowd footage being taped while crews is going on? cause honestly, the crowd adds everything when watching crew battles. that crowd is probably the most fun during tournaments this size..

the only one with a cam corder walking around is my sister helen. She will record the crowd footage and post them online or add them to the dvd when needed.

as for amounts of tapes to bring. Bring as many as u can record. Remember there are others who want to record also so dont hog the tvs. I have been to many tournaments when idiots just sit there and think they own the tvs. If this occurs at the venue , just tell me and ill kick whoevers off playing on the tvs. Everyone should have a chance at recording what they want and get a chance to get practice in.

Again, I'd like to raise the following question:
Every Smash tournament I've seen has never had any restriction to which version of Smash is played. To my understanding, there are three versions. Version 00 and 01 can change Bowser and Mr. Game & Watch's style a bit (not too much, but still enough to raise this questions,) and version 02 is the most commonly used for tournament play. If Melee is going as far as to have a "world tournament," so to speak, I think this issue should be covered. And, at that, which region's release will be played? I'd imagine NTSC, but PAL does have some noteable differences that can change any given character's metagame drastically. I'd imagine that NTSC version 02 would be the default played, but some might think that unfair. Perhaps some version/region counterpicks are in order?

I currently have a hangover and had 3 hours of sleep last night. Your post was then too confusing for me to understand past the first 3 to 4 lines :/

ntsc version 2.0 is looking the most likely, though i'm sure some TVs will have 1.0

doubles is projected to start saturday morning, but that's in a best case scenario where crews are all done on friday

gamepro, smashboards wouldn't even let me log on this weekend, and i still can't check my PMs, but i'll be happy to answer any questions you have:)

will the people who did not register online, but are still attending, and paying the 100 at the door be placed in pools at the venue? like in extra additional pools?

HI GAIS WATS GOIN ON?!?!?

Alright, so pkmvodka and me are are HugQ's place right now. He's a really nice guy. ^^

We wanted to do a couple of things during our stay here. We want to go to six flags, buy some shoes, go to the beach, have fun, eat funky stuff, maybe a little partyin'? So this is an open call to anyone that is in the area and wants to do something with two crazy canucks.
I'd like to hang out with as many people as possible. :) and we're good at smash, but that's not the main thing we wanna do, nomsain?

If anything, pm me your phone number/msn address/AIM handle, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. <3

a new list

the people who are paying 100 at the door to enter are going to be added to a list then randomized and that will be their pools.
