It's funny how Flipnote Studio was the easy to access and use app for the DSi, and then Flipnote Studio 3D was distributed so poorly it somehow became the holy grail as a free digital release.

Lizzie from Rampage's existence is kinda astonishing. She debuted only a few months after Samus as a female protagonist (villain protagonist in this case) in the same hypermacho gaming environment, but her gender isn't a surprise nor a personality/design trait: it's just told to you casually on the CSS and that's that!
For as bad as the Mario Mandate's impacts have been, it could be much worse.

The DS and Wii lines are proof you can go for an Apple-esque white-grey-and-black aesthetic without feeling corporate and simplified.
I do wonder if the Switch's overall aesthetic (or lack therof) subconciously helped make it easier for us to criticise Nintendo...

Still can't believe Nick Brawl got a dual wielder swordfighter before Smash
They literally only have one swordfighter and he's still more unique on a conceptual level than 57% of Smash's swordies (I counted.)
I don't get why people want Blastoise and Venusaur in Smash over Squirtle and Ivysaur. I much prefer having the early and mid-stage evolutions in Smash because it's more unique, regardless of canonical power or "coolness".
Among Us is so iconic that now I don't even recognise a crewmate as a spaceman, or even a character - it's just a symbol, a logo, a flag even, free of anthropomorphism or meaning.
Sometimes I like to Google oddly specific yet extremely obvious puns and see what shows up - there are way more dental-themed cartoon episodes titled "An Inconvenient Tooth" than I could've ever expected.

That axolotl from SMG4 is the ugliest thing I have ever laid eyes on. I thought they couldn't top the palm tree guy, but somehow they did.
I will never understand why Sonic fans get so hissy about "Sonic had a rocky transition to 3D". Even if you like the early 3D Sonic games better than the Mega Drive classics there's no possible way you can deny they do a piss-poor job of adapting the formula when looked at as sequels.
I am so worried for NASB's post-launch future after those leaks.

I've always found the logic of boycott culture, especially its more radical side, ridiculous - if a company exploits their employees, and enough people boycott to make a dent in their profits, that'll mean those employess will be paid less at best and will be out of a job at worst. All the company is gonna see is that the franchises you avoided buying aren't profitable anymore, and the companies that often get this response like EA and Activision are really infamous for killing series at their peak while refusing to sell them - humans being treated like humans is obviously more important than Spyro 4, but boycotts won't help either. True activism, making sure the head honchos understand the errors of their ways by being vocal in places where they will hear, will help everyone.
I generally do not like duplicate characters in games where characters are cosmetic... but I can make an exception for this lovely bunch
I will never understand why people like unlockable content in fighting games and shooters. Other genres like kart racers where characters are cosmetic I can understand, but in the internet age of spoilers; DLC; and viral marketing there's no room for unlockable characters and stages in games where each character plays different.

Considering all the PaRappa songs were written in English by Japanese people, it's impressive that there's only one instance of bad grammar.

A small part of me hopes Daisy really is missing from Party Superstars so Nintendo will see the passion people have for her and start giving her bigger roles - Waluigi was absent from Kart 7 and because of backlash hasn't missed a Mario game where he could logically appear since, (and has become a lot more prominent in marketing) even if he has stayed as another multiplayer option.
If Crash got in Smash, I hope the Twinsanity tracks either aren't remixed or have remixed and original forms coexist - I really want to know how people who either don't play Crash or aren't familiar with the games between CTR and the renakes would react to this song:

I feel we're about to enter a golden age for licensed games. This past half-a-decade has had less licensed games than the 90s or 00s, but they've been so much better - and when studios realise getting talented devs to work on IPs they're passionate about is what sells a product, we'll get quality and quantity.
Game Theory was onto something, they just needed to swap around the princess.
Garfield in Nick Brawl honestly feels like a no-brainer to me. The way Garfield funcitons as a comic strip, taking 5 or so running gags and finding new ways to subvert and spice them up every day, is absolutely perfect for a platform fighter and just how beloved/iconic Garfield is more than outweighs his current lack of Nick relevance.
That Mickey Mouse puppet TikTok is way funnier than a "what if Mickey Mouse swore?" gimmick has any right to be.
Rather than a Disney crossover platform fighter, I'd love a devoted Simpsons platform fighter. Turning sitcom characters' personality traits and most iconic gags into moves sounds like right fun, especially for an already exaggerated and cartoony show like the Simpsons.
The reason nobody takes gaming music seriously is because if a general music fan asks a gaming music enthusiast to show them an example of great gaming music they'll most likely play something that sounds like this:
That Shantae Mii Costume Tweet is so memorable to me. The fact that someone felt the need to comment "I'm so sorry, this is the worst thing that could've happened ):" to the character's creator who was celebrating her confirmation in spite of the smaller scale is both disgusting in its ungratefulness and harrowing in showing how hype culture can be internalised. "Sad cringe" if ever I've seen it.
This legitimately sounds terrible - how did Nintendo approve this?
