Cuphead and Shovel Knight are two games that went around the same concept in complete opposite ways - "update retro games." Shovel Knight went for a modern game with retro graphics, whereas Cuphead went for a retro game with modern (in the gaming sense) graphics.
There are some modern elements to Cuphead's game design (purchasable upgrades), and retro elements to Shovel Knight's (instakill spikes) of course, but it's still an interesting contrast.
I much prefer how Cuphead went about it, but both are great ways to go about making a game.

I had a dream where I found out there were two borderline identical rereleases of Kirby's Dream Land just 2 years after its first release:
Dedede's Dream Land, which replaced Kirby's sprite with Dedede's and made it much harder (and also had a McDonald's tie in), and also Glass Joe's Dream Land, which was just the exact same game with different cartridge art.
Idea: Bowser's Castle and Bowser's Airship as Smash stages. You can see a bunch of airships in the background of the castle stage, and a different angle castle in the background of the airship stage.
Considering these videos are mostly made by kids judging from the heavy TTS use, I seriously hope the "please don't turn me into an oversimplified logo" meme can encourage the next generation of graphic designers to make more wild, eye-catching logos.
"References to abuse" is the most vague description ever. Like, what kind of abuse? A film having an antagonist is technically a reference to abuse so basically anything could be labeled as having "references to abuse".
Rayman forgiving and teaming up with the mosquito in the original Rayman is probably where my disliking for retribution/liking for rehabilitation (both real and and fictional) came from - like, no joke, that scene really resonated with young me.
Honestly I've had more problems with SSBU's UI and menus than I ever had with Wii U.
I just read the Family Guy Wiki's list of crossover characters.
Had they all been officially licensed Seth MacFarlane would've easily made the most ambitious crossover in history.
Say what you will about the Family Guy Funny Moments spam videos, but all things considered that is the ideal way to consume Family Guy - Seth was onto something with the Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy.

I can somehow remember the exact transcript of how I reacted to Banjo's reveal:

I genuinely thought the dragon in today's Google logo was a scribble over "oo", like Google was being renamed Ggle or something.

Mania Chemical Plant, Press Garden and Angel Island are the only Sonic zones I can think of with better Act 2 themes than Act 1s.

The high quantity of this game at CEXs is somewhat worrying.

Out of all the characters to completely divide the sequel thread... it was a tiny dog with headphones.

The Good Dinosaur has always confused me. So it's a story where dinosaurs never died and live alongside man.... AND YOU STILL HAVE IT TAKE PLACE IN THE STONE AGE???
