google just changed the shade of black to a sort of bluish look on dark mode, but the first thing i googled today was "kanye" so i thought google had implemented a special "googling a scandal" variant.

why late-90s/early-2000s gaming internet was great:
- you could just say "that dog is called mr. peepers" and everyone would believe you
- you could just say "bill gates personally kidnapped banjo and is making him into a fur rug for windows hq" and everyone would believe you

I think a lot of people put way too much stock in the "quality" of a game/movie/TV show so on when talking about... literally anything about the work other than its quality.

Idea for an unlockable system in a multiplayer game:
Every few matches (number would likely have to depend on the unlockable-to-starter content ratio) a dialog box pops up and lets you select one of 3 unlock options, and the winner gets to pick. RNG picks if a CPU wins.

It's kinda funny how merchandising, adaptations, and general popular culture treat animated sitcoms completely different from regular sitcoms. It's completely understandable why, don't get me wrong, but it's also just kinda funny that Fred Flintstone was considered a shoo-in for MVS, but people only really brought up Seinfeld or Friends as a joke. Imagine if all of the stuff they slap Homer Simpson's head onto was Al Bundy instead.

One of the coolest and most subtle instances I've seen of kids' media promoting anti-authority mentality was an old Dandy comic I had as a kid where they hid a joke in a contest's terms and conditions small print and said "see, always read the small print!". At the time I read it as just a dumb gag - which it is - but now I'm older I really appreciate that kind of message to know what you're getting into and pay attention to tiny, hidden things.

imagine if in a hundred years a highly litigious corporation released a game where a character had a move called "7 GRAND DAD" or "TOOLY I AM KING" and then that move got in their ip crossover marketing vehicle.
I had a dream where Slap City and NASB2 fused into one game, and added something called "Bonzi Buddy mode", a variant of classic mode where Bonzi Buddy would just randomly pop up on screen and you had to kill him - if you won Bonzi Buddy mode, you'd be given a choice between 9999999999999999999 in-game currency or unlocking a new "arena". I chose the latter with trepidation, not knowing if an "arena" actually meant a stage, and it unlocked the random stage button.
