Something that annoys me about Indie World is that they always open with "Oh yeah, this is Blebling, you know Blebling, we worked on it for 6 years..." and there is no implication of what Blebling could even be for like 30 seconds. I think the gameplay footage should come first.

A long, LONG while ago, I submitted an alt for Banjo on a creation thread based on polar bears that's fur turned slightly green in captivity. I wish I knew about pizzly bears at the time, not because the "British cuisine" colour scheme of them is particularly appealing, but just because I like saying "pizzly".
This recent trend of outsourcing adaptations of Western properties to Japan kinda rubs me the wrong way - in the sense that something like "Rick & Morty: The Anime" feels like it was made to appeal to a Western otaku audienceand not be a distinctly Eastern spin on the IPif that makes sense? If I made a popular cartoon character, I'd take the chance at an authentic Japanese anime adaptation in a heartbeat, but I would want it to have a unique flairby and for Eastern audiencesand not just be... the same thing but with better cinematography and a lower frame rate.

I think the hoarderposting yesterday got to my head, as I had a dream where I brought an SNES off of eBay, it was covered in food stains, and it came with a game called "Diddy Kong Country" - the cartridge was halved vertically and the words "Diddy Kong" seemed to be a printed paper hastily cut out and celotaped on top of the word "Donkey Kong". When I inserted it, it was a Mario game - not a Diddy Kong game - where you had to save Wario from a train that he was being cooked rotisserie on, and you saved him by plucking off one another's heads and swapping them. It then cut to stage where I played as Dixie Kong in full 3D, and had to escape Mr. Blobby through a factory filled with cutters while collecting Banjo-Kazooie honeycombs, and there was pink blood when she died. When I lost my final life, the game over screen was Space Invaders themed, and when I turned off the SNES, the music didn't stop playing. Diddy Kong did not appear.

Crash Bandicoot 4 being such a good platformer when its engine and characters were designed with a MOBA in mind is a miracle and a half.
I know I've become a bit of an expert at pedantically picking apart Sakurai's probably-slightly-mistranslated words, so it really escapes me how I never really considered how strange it was that Brawl strayed away from Melee's gameplay due to concerns over players' hands, and then he immediately made Kid Icarus: Uprising.
I am only 8 minutes into the new Nick Knacks, the character has only been on screen for like 20 seconds, and I'm already convinced that Artie, the Strongest Man in the World NEEDS to be the live action rep in the non-existant NASB sequels, there is no other option.
I don't know why the Sonic Eraser versus song always gets singled out as the "worst Sonic song", I find it quite catchy myself - the Sonic Eraser puzzle song however? Yeah, that's the worst one.
Continuing from my last post about game trailers as individual art and identities from the games they're marketing, I actually think that if a character like the bus driver or Dashing Super Guy got in Smash, they should have their own series symbol that represents their specific advert. I think a general "advertising" series symbol (a dollar sign or something?) would be too catch-all and hard to decide on virtue of Nintendo ads sharing next to no iconography, placing these ads as part of their game's series creates a tonal disconnect and potentially disappoints fans of the series (so a seperate series symbol would be a good way to say "No, Dashing Super Guy isn't the 4th Kirby rep, he's not in over Susie"), and a lot of the individual ads would lend themselves quite well to series symbols on virtue of advertising, as a medium, revolving around iconography - Dashing Super Guy could have his grin + sunglasses for instance.
Looking back on the NASB speculation cycle now the series is dead, it's extremely gross - not just "mean and weird", but like actually disturbing - that I mentioned multiple times that hype culture caused me distress, the other users acknowledged that, and still tried to get me to shut up whenever I expressed that I was glad the games had no hype culture past NASB1 prerelease.
Maybe I've just been Smash-pilled for too long and anything that isn't like Smash feels special to me after taking the NASB pill, but there's something weirdly yet profoundly special to me about when games (particularly of the retro variety) and their marketing exist as two seperate entities, if that makes sense? In the sense of them being two seperate productions with little production overlap, in the sense of them having different music/character designs/aesthetics/e.t.c, and most importantly in the sense of the adverts fading into obscurity for only die-hards (and commercial connoisseurs) to find, while the game remains in the cultural conciousness.

I really hope the next Smash game gets leaked in its entirerty. Preferably before it has gameplay footage out, but I'd take gradual leaks.

Something utterly ridiculous and dumb I noticed about Brawl's announcer calls that would certainly not be approved on VGFacts on virtue of being very speculative:
If you listen to Smash announcer calls, the tone of voice always relates to the character somehow - like "Pichu!" in a jovial tone or "Bowser..." in a forboding tone - in the Japanese version of Brawl, which has the same American announcer VA, Bowser's name is "Koopa", and it's said in a cheery tone instead of a forboding one - so like, surely that means Pat Cashman thought he was talking about Koopa Troopa, right?

I had a dream where there was a new Smash, and it implemented a really bizarre mechanic where each character had something they could just... drop. Like Little Mac could take off his gloves, ROB could detach his arms, Link could drop his sheild, and use them as a projectile.

It's funny to me, in a dystopian way, that the idea of homebrew and unlicensed games made for profit being illegal is just an elaborate gaslight performed by giving consoles mechanisms to intentionally break.
And also that the only reason we even know homebrew games are legal is because of the Bubsy guys. -
