Just like how the Minions twitter got big praise for making fun of NFTs at their height and then Universal started doing NFTs the next year once they became seen as "funny outdated internet thing".

I think I posted about this before because i've known about this item fror ages, but the lore implications of the Avatar State just being an item anyone can use in Nick Kart are harrowing, and I deeply hope Smash can replicate that unhinged energy with items in the future.

i got nick kart 3 for ****s and giggles because it was dirt cheap and uhh, this is actually a pretty good game. not a hidden gem or unexpected masterpiece or anything, it's certainly not a new nasb, but it handles well and the mechanics were clearly well thought out. a good alternateive when it just ain't CTRin' time after speedstorm went to the dogs.

Mario/DK continuity doesn't matter, because one of the most beautiful moments in a Nintendo game ever, the ending of Yoshi's Island, is a blatant and unapologetic retcon - and then another almost as beautiful moment that today's kids will surely see the same way that I saw YI, the broken TV scene in the CGI Mario movie, is part of an equally as brazen retcon of that retcon. What works for the single work is most important, not whether you can piece them together.

So... when I say Smash should have better Xbox representation, that's unreasonable because "Nintendo shouldn't care about their competitors", but when Nintendo redesigns a character created in-house at Nintendo in a manner that removes small elements of creative input from an Xbox subsidary, that's "disgracing a legacy".

When I watched the Switch 2 trailer, I thought the "mouse" was supposed to be ice skates, and thought that Nintendo were just suddenly on an ice skating kick and thought ice skates were the future. Which is like... not on-character as much as flanderised, but also makes more sense than quite a few prior Nintendo gimmicks (probably just because it's basically just attributing a different origin to the same gimmick lmao)

the whole "Radiator Springs in Mario Kart" thing got me thinking about how Nintendo has been influenced by Disney, and how that is a possible inspiration given that the gap in prestiege between Cars and other Pixar films basically only exists on the internet, and that led me to think about how Cars is a way more likely KH world than people think for that reason.... uhhhh, and then that lead me to a rabbit hole revealing that Cars was cut from KH3.
