I feel similarly about the idea of a Halo 1 remake that I did about RDJ’s casting as Dr. Doom. You can make an argument that it’s technically a good financial decision but it signifies so quickly that their respective companies are extremely desperate and creatively uninspired that I’m not sure most casual audiences will be that behind it.

Unless there’s concrete proof Palworld actually stole assets from Pokemon or something similar, it seems extremely unlikely Nintendo would actually succeed in suing them. There’s a lot of really big public cases about video games with similar circumstances (Capcom vs Data East being a good example) and the precedent has basically always been against tue companies doing the suing for alleged copyright infringement.

The game awards category for games for impact is such a joke. It's genuinely shocking and offensive they're still making "societal impact" into a competitve awards category and people are mostly okay with it. It's implicitly saying "oh sorry your game about the impacts of the iranian revolution just barely loses out to this game about cancer because it has more societal benefit." for example.

There's also the discussion about how basically just indie games get nominated, which suggests AAA games aren't able to have positive societal implications or be about politics at all.

On the subject of my last post, I’m a good way into final fantasy 5 and I take back everything negative I’ve ever said about RPG job systems it clicks so much better here than other games I played with the system.

I see a lot of people praising the humour and comedy of super mario RPG which is cool but I think it’s kind of disappointing they don’t really mention the influence final fantasy 5 and chono trigger had on that aspect of the game, especially with the physicality of the comedy.

You know what? Shoutout to characters who are basically only in a crossover fighting game because they’re an easy clone character for someone else. I will stand by the fact that Dr Mario and Nubia are good additions to their respective games.

So I just found out Harmonix developed the rhythm game part of Fortnite and it just feels surreal knowing that Guitar Hero and Rock Band were on top of the world for so long. Like imagine if Minecraft had a significant drop off before being acquired by Microsoft and now Mojang only exists to develop a “block builder” mode for idk sea of thieves or something

Yakuza Dead Souls is probably the only zombie apocalypse story where someone grabs a tank and blows a giant hole in the quarantine, potentially risking everyone getting infested and once the military immediately questions him he says “yeah some people were trapped in there” and then they reply “ok fair enough you did what you have to do”
