There's a really annoying attitude I see a lot to game preservation where people are like "well, the IMPORTANT games are avaliable legally, so what's the issue?". Yeah, no, Final Fantasy 7 isn't any more worth preserving than Awesome Possum. There's more use to a game than playing it, and while some games obviously have had more impact on the wider industry, every game ever made is part of their own small micro-history and can illustrate some kind of moment in time or have some kind of small factor worth enjoying or learning from.
