I misread the MVS RTC thread as rating Harry Hill, a British comedian who does very simple kid humour.

My main prediction for NASB's DLC is that one of the packs will be Jimmy, Timmy, and a second FOP rep. It feels too perfect to me - Jimmy and Timmy are associated with one another thanks to their own crossovers and the Unite games, the DLC packs come in 3, there's already a second (first?) JN rep to put the shows on equal terms, FOP has one of the biggest and most varied casts in any Nick show (to the point where you could easily make a devoted platform fighter for it) - but then again this could just be a wacky Smash pattern theory with no merit.
Either way, I do think Timmy is coming. If they can afford to get Jim Cummings and Tom Kenny doing voices they can almost certainly get the international distribution rights to fairy boy.
I dunno why people were shocked Minions did well with an older, childless demographic - like
- Sequel to a movie from 7 years ago, and features characters who debuted 12 years ago
- A franchise stereotyped as being enjoyed by middle aged to elderly women
- A concept inherently tied to dark humour
- A 1970s period piece

I don't know if this was made for the trailer or something that already exists in Smite, but I like how Zeus' coffee mug in the Nicktoons trailer says "hey, Zeus!" in reference to the Spanish pronunciation of Jesus. Feels like the sort of censor-pushing joke they would've had in one of the Heck episodes of Rocko.
So, is SMSB the first creation thread not already themed around original content to have an OC creation round for its main roster? I know there were a few OC jobs on Infinite, but not for playable fighters.
I don't think Nick crossovers after NASB getting a higher budget is a sign that Nick have favouritism and moreso that they didn't realise the value of things like VA and unique costumes until the NASB backlash.
Fun fact: as much as clapping in a cinema is a taboo in the UK.

The weather & time feature in SMSB means people in that universe know what the Cap Kingdom looks like at daytime... that's certainly something, and somehow more out there than the idea of Nintendo canonising the Mario movie; Super Show; Project M; and Tetris & Dr. Mario siamese twins commercial in a game combined
Smash style slogans for all NASB characters (except Shredder and Jenny since they have those)
It's weird that people use Ridley as the "ultimate proof" Smash is devoted to fans, because from my memory most people (or at least the most vocal people, not like that changes anything) LOATHED the idea of Ridley in Smash before Ultimate - not even in a "cool, but not gonna happen" way, just a "please don't do this, it'd suck" way.
Not to mention that some fans DGAF about character additions, let alone not wanting Ridley.
I wish more platformer games would just embrace the genre's "kiddy" image - the fact every mascot has to fight an eldritch god and be part of some ancient prophecy just reeks to me of "hey look, we're just as cool as Call of Auto and Grand Theft Duty!"

I like that the Zim stage in NASB is a charging station for the Irken ships, that's a super clever way of rationalising why there's just a big chunk of metal floating in space.

I feel Smash does an extremely good job of passing off as like a niche curio while actually being one of the biggest franchises in gaming - no Dorito bag or Lunchables tie-ins; minimal TV, OOH, or print advertising prescence; commercials carefully woven as part of the overall game experience - it's frankly quite insideous and I can't help but respect it.
imagine if laugh o gram never went out of business and became what we know disney as today so we would talk about "laugh o grams illegal monopoly" or "the evil corporation laugh o gram" or "how laugh o gram ruined star wars"
I wish we'd get more action games with slice of life plotlines. Like, a platformer about oversleeping and needing to get to work on time, or an action RPG about babysitting where you "fight" the bosses by soothing then with pacifiers and rattles.
I don't understand why Nintendo don't make direct-to-eShop budget games any more. Some of the most memorable 3DS games were part of that category, and it'd be an easy way to justify bringing back less profitable, cult classic franchises to shareholders.

I find it kinda funny that as soon as Nintendo stopped giving Kirby angry eyes on English box arts in response to fan mockery, fans started to take and push the "Kirby is a badass" idea completely seriously

If a beat-em-up character got in Smash, I'd hope their stage has 3D as its gimmick. Hell for tap jump players and would probably require some moves to have their hitboxes reworked, but still a fun gimmick
I'm not a retributor, I'd usually have a staunch moral opposition to as much as giving as a £20 fine to my worst enemy, but god damn I hope the person who came up with the idea of distinguishing Japanese cartoons as "anime" is punished gravely for it. -
