The faux-retro box art for EarthBound Beginnings is a terrible downgrade from that of Star Fox 2. Ninten has ****ing magic wand artefacts.
I think that rebooting a widely disliked property (like Bubsy) is a good idea, but it shouldn't be some self-depricating meta-narriative, it should be aimed at the earnest fans of that franchise, as few as there may be, and try to convert over deniers in the process, not the other way around

I like how the new Mario Strikers tones down the cyberpunk edge a little, but keeps the trademark high-tech imagery; sassy characters; and sporting violence. My only complaint is that I really dislike pipes and brick blocks being in the stage backgrounds.

Honestly, yeah, I am kinda starting to wonder if the timing of Nintendo Directs and controversial moves by Nintendo isn't coincidental.
I keep getting this ad that opens with the line "flavour needs sugar is just a big lie to make you a sugar junkie" and I feel like I could be here all day pointing out the grammatical errors of it.
While it was and still is one of the biggest sources of confusion around NASB, I think going for a competitive game was a really smart move - Nick are famous for making cartoons that appeal to both kids and adults alike, why not make a game that's both silly enough for kids to laugh with and complex enough for teens and adults to dig their teeth into?
I think NASB's approach would be more appreciated by casual players if the game launched with items - it was never meant to be some super serious no-casuals-allowed afair, it was supposed to be a silly kids game with hidden depth under the hood for competitive players to dig into - more Crash Team Racing than Street Fighter - but a rushed release date caused a lot of casual content to get the cut.
I'm a die-hard Crash fan but honestly I don't really care for having him in Smash. I only really rallied behind him because he and Waluigi were the only characters I liked who had a remote possibility of making the DLC.
Speaking of animatronics, if FNaF was in a fighting game, I think it'd be pretty cool to have Freddy as a fighter who represents the idea of the animatronics as fun kid mascots; and alongside him Springtrap to represent the main horror element of FNaF - like, Springtrap bites and tears; Freddy throws pizza and blows up balloons.

if a Chuck E. Cheese animatronic was put in a local pawn shop, people would be fighting tooth and nail for it - there'd probably be a collector who travels on a god damn aeroplane just to get to that pawn shop - uh, rawn shop - it would not be bought for the sole purpose of advertising local mini-golf.
Sure, you could argue "Questy's" is a cheap off-brand chain nobody cares about, but the fact somebody built an entire, fully accurate Questy's in VR tells me either A. if this is a fan project, Questy's fans in this universe are just as devoted as Showbiz Pizza fans in our world, or B. if this is official, Questy's is popular enough to monetarily justify an official Questy's VR experience, in which case die-hard Questy's/Cometeers fans and/or historians almost certainly exist.

I still think the MK8D DLC looks better than base game visually. Let cartoony games be cartoony again, without over-done bloom or hyperrealistic textures.
I feel the only extra Mii class that's really needed is Mii Athlete/Sportsman. "Mii Mage" strikes me more as an aesthetic than a playstyle. -
