Sephiroth after the whole FreeMelee thing is kinda the big one, though considering Seph was at a pre-planned TGA and the events just so happened to be close to then that feels more like something I could give good faith to.

In all seriousness, though, I have my doubts about this. Aside from the most recent Direct (which came out soon after Nintendo expressed interest in NFTs and took down GiIva's channel), I can't really point out any other instances of that occuring. Nintendo taking down that Project+ tournament and the release of the Sep. 2021 Direct might count, that's a bit more of a stretch for me seeing as the two events took place a month apart from each other.
(All that said, I wouldn't be surprised this all was intentional; Distracting customers from bad press with big new announcements is corporation 101.)
