Multiversus will find it's own niche, but that niche likely won't be the same people hyping it up, and thus like NASB it'll be labled "dead" when it's really just as healthy as any other non-Smash platfighter. Repeat the cycle for every licensed platfighter to come.
I think whether you'll go for NASB or MV depends on your preferance: content/polish or gameplay/balance. I like the latter, so I'll stick with Nick.
In a Simpsons platform fighter, the Poké Floats equivalent could just be Krusty merchandise.
Am I reading this wrong or do Multiversus characters only have two special moves each?

Nintendo are doing an official Smash competitive circuit with cash prizes, which is pretty cool. Really hope they 1. don't botch it, and 2. don't forget everything they learned from it both for future tournament and future multiplayers games as a whole.
Giving more thought, I'm mixed on MV.
On one hand, it looks pretty bad, especially when compared to Nick.
On the other, it's good that platform fighters are being seen as more than just "Smash clones" and some publishers are willing to give them budget.
I really don't wanna know the context for this.

A lot of the NASB roster choices come off like the result of a single developer pushing really hard for and convincing the rest of the team to add their favourite (in fact, it's actually been confirmed by devs that's how Lucy and Oblina at least got in) - and I really love that.
Ultimate is a game I find really fun to watch, but quite dull to play - at least after discovering NASB.
On the Parallel Universe SSBU DLC thread, I decided to make PaRappa's stage competitive legal - therefore creating a horrific timeline where this could play at EVO Finals
I wonder how Nintendo feel about the Homebrew Channel BGM being used in a trailer for a game on their platform - even if it is Steam-exclusive DLC.
I think platform fighters are fighting games in the same way Metroidvanias are platformers - they are by definition, but in discussion and analysis should be treated seperately.
