I had a dream where the Nick Brawl DLC characters were Leonardo again, buying him would just duplicate his slot on the CSS, and a team of 6 tiny clones of Little Amadeus (the Mozart cartoon) as one fighter. I'm sure there were 4 extra characters but I can't remember.
I clicked this video without fully registering the title and vocally shouted "NO" when it started.
Considering how much Gen Alpha loves spooky, eerie stories peppered with cute characters (like FNaF for example), Cartoon Network are sitting on a potential gold mine with Courage the Cowardly Dog.
I really see no harm in having non-gaming hardware/software reps (Clippy, Hatsune Miku, Nokia Snake or Suzanne the Blender Monkey for example) in Smash. There's so few options, let alone viable options, from that field that they'd barely touch FE's fighter count after using all possible characters.
These old Pokémon ads were probably funny at the time, but now that we live in a world where we know Pokémon isn't just a fad and how much the franchise means to people... they're just depressing.
"It was you! forgotten/maligned mascot!" is kind of a boring cliché now.

Until the voiceover came on, I thought this video was a fake like those "SpongeBob on Qubo? (REAL)" videos - there's no way ITV would've syndicated Chowder 6 years after it was cancelled and advertised it with Turn Down for What... right? Then I did more looking and someone else had uploaded the promo from a TV recording - and there's another Chowder ad complete with a child actor dancing in a Chowder shirt.
Does kinda make sense from business perspective to syndicate Chowder at that time though, CITV was airing a censored version of Adventure Time at that point so they probably wanted another CN export in a similar vein - Its "sister shows" of sorts, Regular Show and Gumball, probably wouldn't have been good fits given the RS' edgy 80s horror/action influences, and Gumball's mundane (at the time) world and adventures causing a possible overlap with Horrid Henry (who had been CITV's mascot for a decade at that point, and seemingly still is) but Chowder has that whimsical world and subversive humour people liked early AT for, even if it doesn't take itself nearly as seriously.

NASB hasn't made SSBU borderline unplayable for me like CTR did MK8, but I do have a lingering feeling in the back of my head of "God, I wish I was playing Nick" every time I go back to SSBU. Still enjoy it though, but more as a "woah, look at all this stuff!" spectacle than a game if that makes sense.

I feel the single legally easiest to access game of all time statistically would probably be the 16-bit version of Sonic the Hedgehog. Sega rerelease it constantly (the Switch alone has 3 different options for playing it) and have bundled it with certain newer Sonic games, copies of previous releases aren't too expensive, it's free on iOS, multiple plug and play consoles with the game installed exist, and it has no worry of ever being struck with a higher age rating than the launch version on virtue of lacking casino levels and the only organic enemy being kept safe by his mech pod.
I'm really pleased with this Crash Smash trailer I made.

The game begins, and Mario walks forwards - ignoring the Mushroom ? block and walking straight into the first Goomba. The iconic Mario death sound is played and echoes as it turns to black.
It cuts to Sonic running through Green Hill Zone, he bounces on the spring between the spikes, lands on one bed of spikes and gets throwm into the other with no rings to help. The last few notes of the Sonic 1 game over theme echo as it cuts to black again.
Finally, Pac-Man is about to eat up two unlucky ghosts with his power pellet, however they turn back to their regular selves and corner the Pacster. The iconic Pac-Man death sound echoes, cut to black.
After a few seconds of silence, the screen turns a brightly saturated orange within a nanosecond, with the most pleasant jumpscare you'll ever hear
"WOAH!"
No splash screen needed, Crash Bandicoot hops into battle and does his iconic crotch chop dance to a Twinsanity-style acapella remix of the Crash 1 N. Sanity Beach theme - we see all his moves in action as a few small CGI intervals between, transitioned to and fro by N. Tropy's warp orb:
- Mario, Samus, and Mega Man finding the power up they needed while Ridley panickedly flies around aimlessly with a TNT crate shoved into his unhinged beak
- Luigi reading a book of ancient vampiric lore with childlike curiousity as the monsters of Dracula's Castle are tied up by a yoyo.
- Geese Howard (as a sprite) landing dazed in a bag of feathers on the Transcontinental Railroad's train (albeit with a cityscape background), with King Chicken incubating his head
- All of Kazuya's victims shrugging and calmly walking away from the cliff after reading a crudely written paper "dANgƏRUS" sign attached to a stack of crates

If I had insider info about Crash in Smash, I would just leak a picture of the model's skeleton and not the actual model - Crash has such a distinctive body shape anyone would recognise it from a mile away no matter how vague it's presented.

I always enjoy when comedy cartoons have these elaborate mysteries in the background that there's no resolution and only the vaguest hints to - SpongeBob and Ed, Edd, n' Eddy were both really good at this, especially the latter since even in their big "mysteries answered!" finale they left out some stuff and created a new mystery. It gives fans a little more to talk about than just "this bit was very funny" and "the characters were a little OOC this episode." while also making it fun to just watch out of order the way you want.
The whole "NASB is dead" thing does seem exaggerated. I'm still seeing Smash content creators put out Nick content, online's pretty active now Switch has been updated, and tournaments are still happening (albeit mostly on small Discords with few in any spectators for now) - that is actually extremely impressive for what devs have openly admitted is an unfinished game.
If there was a devoted Wario multiplayer game, like in the "DK Barrel Blast" sense of a Mario Kart/Party type game featuring exclusively WarioWare and Land characters, it'd be funny to have Shadow as a guest character.
Tingle would be a no-brainer too, maybe have Mimikyu as well.
I love how one of the few redeeming qualities Wario has been depicted with consistently is that he's good with kids - it's like the one specific trait you'd expect him not to have most.
Even though it was probably just the result of WarioWare character designers making characters they thought were cute or funny with no regard to the context of them being game developers or friends of Wario, it's really charming to imagine Wario as an awkward dad/uncle figure.
If there was a Lego Mario game, it'd likely have the best roster in Mario spin-off history - at the expense of none of the toys featured being real toys.
We need more disability representation in gaming, therefore I propose Nintendo introduce the first one-footed Link.

The Smash Infinite thread runners think people care way more about Smash roster gender balance than they actually do.
Hot take: The mere fact SSBU is a single platform game automatically gatekeeps it from being elegible for being called "a celebration of gaming history" no matter how many iconic characters are in it or how diverse they are.
I do not know the context of this screenshot from Virtua Fighter Kids for Sega Saturn, but without it I can only see it as a fully CG-rendered NPC meme by a Goku for Smash supporter.

The walk cycles in this are actually really well animated and have a lot of personality.
If I was working on marketing for NASB, I would've had Reptar be the final reveal - get people guessing about how Rugrats is represented if at all
