Multiversus has always been so weird to me because what people seem to want (I don't really know what the speculation scene is like, I'm just talking random wants here lol) feels a lot more free-form than any other crossover game, like even if it's not true it feels like "anything goes" compared to stuff like Smash and NASB, you know?

...all of this is building up to this "elinor for multiversus" account I stumbled across (sadly doesn't seem active anymore)

Tying into my sorta-joking last post, while there's a pretty good chance there are mandates that have prevented this from happening (given how they're supposed to be for much younger audiences and "violence bad" I guess), it still really sucks that Nickelodeon never really crosses over their Nick Jr. characters with their "main channel" characters. I say "I'm a big Swiper fan" completely unironically and think he might be a great character in a NASB game, for instance, as well as others like Blue.

As a kid I would fantasize about the PBS KIDS Sprout characters having a big crossover for some reason... blame Brawl.

As a young adult, I now make actual playable character mods for Marvel Ultimate Alliance of PBS KIDS characters to make a big crossover with them a reality.

...Screw me I'm right back to where I started.

As someone into amateur "plushtube" videos (AKA, videos of guys recording videos with their plush toys, usually Mario characters are used and comes to mind for me, but stuff like FNAF and Sonic are also popular subjects), the disparity between the videos SML made when he was a kid and the stuff he makes now (both the surface content themselves and also what they "stand for" I guess) will never not be infinitely hilarious to me.

It feels like a perfect analogy for what YouTube became over the years... okay so I disagree with the overall sentiment that "everything on YouTube these days is soulless and about gaming the algorithm and making money" but I still understand that feeling, you know? And SML was technically one of the OGs of the platform as a whole, so just seeing how the content "evolved" is still a pretty good mirror of how a lot of people feel about YouTube.

I found this after recently posting about my own tribute AMV a few days ago, and I think it's fascinating to compare the tones of the two. This one's arguably more true to the tone of a lot of their shows with the song choice (itself being from an actual promo from the network), a lot more bubbly, juvenile, about using your imagination.

Mine, on the other hand, leans a lot more into its somewhat "epic" side (which isn't as fitting for a lot of the shows, minus stuff like Cyberchase and Wild Kratts I guess), while also subliminally suggesting more of an "epic crossover" as well. I'd know... because I created it lol. It's more of an interesting case study of myself, as I've always wanted to make certain things more "epic" than they really were ever since early childhood, that and my desire for a REAL crossover is no secret by now.

Side note, I enjoy that this one also has a mix of old and new franchises. This is a guy that clearly appreciates all eras, which is a real rarity, it feels.
