I’m remembering back to a creative writing class I was in in the 12th grade where me and my friends came up with a bunch of horrific almost lovecraftian ideas for stories. Here are some of these concepts we came up with. All of these resulted in real stories, some of which I wrote.
- A world where a human brain powers a computer and a technician has to come and fix it and since it’s a human brain it’s really expensive because it has to stay in its own liquid casing and has to regularly be fed in order to live. You can also give a brain LSD and see the funky shapes on the computer screen. The number one rule of brain computers is to not put two in the same room or they will gain consciousness of each other and begin to communicate.
- A series of letters a bride is writing to her fiancée who got turned into a fleshy green ball by the village shaman
- A story about settlers in the old west who discover necromancy and travel to a place they believe is an Indian burial ground to use zombies to create a town. This whole concept started because my friend misheard “Colorado gold rush” as “Colorado ghoul rush”
- An essay by a man named William J. McKrum about why “crumbing” (when you spread peanut butter on toast then put some of it back in the jar, causing crumbs to get back in the jar) is actually really good and tastes great and how his life has been changed by “crumbing with his uncle”
- An entire clown society where the stock market is based on how funny each clown is perceived to be. The protagonist is accused of laugh market manipulation and is executed by electric joy buzzer. Nearly every single line contains a clown based pun.
- A story about two New Mexican farm ranchers (who happen to be incestuous cousins named Zaza and Mink) that get shrunken down and live on the eyebrow of a man named O’o-n’uj. They become lice ranchers and the whole story takes place on his face. The story is supposed to be inspired by the plot of Berserk (with the eclipse being O’o-n’uj wiping some sweat off his brow) but the person writing this story never read Berserk so it ended up just being us saying “hey you should put this thing from Berserk in” and them interpreting this and fitting it into the concept of an eyebrow.
- An action thriller set in a post apocalyptic world where the past is long forgotten. The protagonist is a lone warrior who massacres an entire gang in the ruins of Disneyworld. His name is “Mick” and the villains are named “The Don” and “Ol Pete”.

Fun fact, today is the 40th anniversary of the publication of Fist of the North Star
I kinda miss how the abyss was portrayed in base dark souls because in other games it’s just a really dark area but in dark souls it was completely pitch black with almost no way of having any depth perception and it made it a lot more memorable
I like how RGG Studio announced a like a dragon direct the exact day of a Nintendo direct announcement. Poor timing tbh.
Enchanted Portals is probably really bad, I’m sure but I feel like people need to learn the difference between something that’s a hilarious trainwreck and something that’s just sad bad. Like it’s an indie game with pretty good art that’s inspired by one of the greatest games ever it being bad is just disappointing.
I thought Garp and the Marines were probably the weakest additions to the live action One Piece from an objective story stand point because I like the concept but wasn’t sure if someone new to the series would have liked their addition. Except he was my mom’s favourite character (and I think she has a crush on him?????) so maybe it was implimented well after all
I haven’t seen any episodes of Urusei Yatsura but I have seen clips of the British dub and refuse to accept any Urusei Yatsura material other than it existing

Donkey Kong Country fans getting angry at the concept of a new Mario vs. Donkey Kong game feels like how Wario Land fans get mad at there being so many WarioWare games as if one series getting games somehow means other games with the same character (made by a different development studio) will be forgotten.

The Yakuza games sometimes have an exposition dump sequence where you have a few dialogue options where you ask someone questions about the subject they’re giving you exposition for. The funniest one was in Judgment where the exposition was on how dementia works. I’m not even kidding the game has to give you so much information about how dementia occurs for the plot to work that it needs to introduce gameplay to keep it engaging.
It’s pretty funny how guilty gear has at least three characters that are just the names of bands or musical artists either unaltered or one or two letters different
The Olympics drifting dimension season is funny or whatever but the fact that “rifle” is in over easily one of the top five most iconic mascots is just kinda bad

The last two times I’ve been stuck at a dark souls boss fight for at least two hours I’ve beaten it on the attempt where someone called me and I said I’ll be there in a minute. It’s probably a coincidence but I spent so long on them that I’m now kinda wondering if there’s a psychological reason behind it.
I found out kratos is an actual mythological figure he wasn’t just made up by god of war and my mind has been absolutely blown. There’s basically no connection between the figures besides the actual Kratos is violent but it does feel weird given I thought he was made up all this time.
I wanted to do a thing where people would submit and vote the best video game animal of 2023 but that would just be an Oatchi sweep. Wanted to do one for 2022 too but Stray just had to exist.
I hate the name “Cities: Skylines” because it’s so clunky when “City Skylines” sounds 100 times better, is more recognizable, and you barely need to change anything. At this point I’m starting to wonder if most devs put any thought into how well their titles will sound at all.
I wonder if we’ll get the NES versions of some Sega games on NES Online considering Sega has Genesis Online and Super Famicom Online got every Shin Megami Tensei game

I got digital devil saga on ps2 a while back and I don’t want to play it yet until I have the sequel because apparently it’s ending leads directly into it and is slightly underwhelming on its own.

Whenever a new video game adaptation is announced most of the time I get a “they’re not going to actually complete and release this” vibe immediately. Like do you really a think a Firewatch adaptation will end up being a released product?
I wrote a fact on the vgfacts site about the supposed unabomber cameo in legacy of goku 2 and one of the administrators added a whole paragraph expanding on it and the exact situation it happens in that you could only have done through seeing gameplay
