There's been a bit of discourse on sonic not being that popular in Japan and honestly I think it's not actually that unusual of a situation because a lot of really influential series really aren't as popular or as well selling as you might expect. Mega Man's a good example of this in the modern day.

When I grew up, history classes always taught that native people were perfectly in touch with nature and were never harmful to the planet or each other. Obviously it’s better than not teaching about them at all or teaching them as bloodthirsty savages but pretending that literally every North American native society pre colonization is completely peaceful and never made mistakes is very disengenuous and not true. It’s holding actual people on a pedestal, and lying like this basically suggests genocide is only bad when done against a literal perfect population. Plus I imagine indigenous people want yo learn about their actual history not some sanitized version of it.
To be completely fair I feel a lot of history classes focus on one singular narrative like this is because students tend tonot really care about the subject at all but still you could at least agnowle ehat societies were actually like and that there’s a lot of nuance between them.
I made a video game bucket list back in December 2022 so uh here’s my revisit of it
- Alan Wake - Played
- Chrono Cross - haven’t played.
- Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion - haven’t played. This is one I’m kind of interested in but it’s gotta be on sale for like 40 dollars or less for me to buy.
- Devil May Cry 5 (and maybe 2 out of curiosity) - Uh… devil may cry 5 doesn’t work on my ****ty ps4 past the first level but I did in fact play Devil May Cry 2
- Doom 2016/Eternal - played 2016 but not eternal
- Dragon Quest 11 - Played but haven’t gotten past about an hour in
- Final Fantasy 15 - haven’t played
- Half-Life 2 Episode 1/2 - Very briefly played half life 2 episode 1
- Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - played
- Mario & Luigi: Bowsers Inside Story - haven’t played
- Metal Gear Acid series - haven’t played
- One Piece games on wonderswan - Haven’t played. This is one I wanted to try for a video but this was very early on in my channel and I abandoned it. Maybe I’ll revisit it
- Sonic Frontiers - haven’t played
- Street Fighter 6 - played
- Tekken 5 and eventually 8 - Played Tekken 5 but not really interested in 8 anymore since I don’t have a ps5 and I don’t like the roster
- WarioWare: Get It Together - played. Can’t believe I hadn’t played a WarioWare game til this year
- Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - haven’t played
- Yakuza Like A Dragon (and all the upcoming Like A Dragon games) - again how haven’t I played this til this year? Also yes I played the upcoming like a dragon games, both released in 2023
I love the Xbox 360 because it had a bunch of ports of classic games like symphony of the night or guardian heroes and they all have the weirdest menus that look like they’re for flash games

I don’t like how if you’re not in a major city most local comic books that are set in the city are things like “a superhero story but it takes place here!!” like that’s definitely cool but i think it would be cool to have other types of genres to read set in a lesser known city that can showcase it in different ways… like a post apocalypse. That’s always cool.

Sony making them take off the Bloodborne branding from Bloodborne Kart was a tragedy and all but even without the branding a kart racer inspired by Victorian England is still a really cool idea

As someone who used to work at a museum (that had an actual crypt in the basement lmao) I kind of dislike haunted house tourism because it seems like everyone’s ignoring interesting histories of the buildings they go to and commodifying the culture for haha spooky ghost stories. It’s a nuanced topic and of course places like New Orleans have a long history with supposedly haunted places, I don’t want to erase that, but I do feel like there’s a certain carelessness and disregard for culture and history involved in haunted house tourism.
I like how even though it’s been months since the change was made everyone calls it “X, Formerly Twitter” if they’re not going to just call it Twitter
