2 things!

1: has anyone played 999? I've heard it's really good and sort of a successor to the Ace Attorney games.
!
I got it for Christmas! I am loving it so far, although I will admit I am not very far. I have sooooo many games to play now.

Definitely worth checking out, it's very story heavy and the plot is like a mixture of... Saw, Battle Royale, and Cube. Although that sounds odd, it's a great combination and the localization is far above average. And yes I just compared this game to movies...

The gameplay part is all puzzles. Some are timed, and some aren't. You basically have to search around your puzzle destination and find items and clues that will help you. You can do the typical stuff like combine items, use them, etc.

AND HAPPY NEW YEARS ZELDA BOARDS!

Our new years resolution should be to not suck! =P

_

Got another no-lag LK yesterday at a New Years Eve Smashfest (crazy fun btw). I saved it on Peachkids wii so hopefully it will go up soon if you wanted to take a look at another example lol. Or show someone in the bbr or something.

Kaylo!

I have a friend who has just started playing smash semi-competitively. He is playing Pikachu. I just wanted some advice on what I should teach him etc.

Currently I have him playing just how he wants to. No extreme camping or anything, but I am teaching him to space his moves and getting him to work on proper recovery and the like. When should I start sending him on the boards to learn Pikachu specifics and is there an order for him to follow when learning?

The more reviews I read about 999 the more I want it but it's not released in Europe

Also I LOVE The Cube, and Saw, and Battle Royale... so this sounds amazing.

I've been playing this point and click game called Machinarium and I love it. One of the best soundtracks in a game imo.

Sorry in advance for the novel. ;;

There's no particular order, but definitely make sure he knows the basics first.... a lot of people jump into Pika's ATs too quickly without getting their spacing down, and then they wonder why they lose. :urg: Pika has no range and isn't very safe on shield attack-wise, so throwing out moves all crazy is a good way to get destroyed.

After he gets a feel for Pika's mobility and spacing, I'd say to go in this general order:

- Combos/strings/whateveryouwannacallem (fthrow > usmash, uair > nair, dthrow > uair/nair, dthrow > buffer dash nair, landing fair junk, etc.)
- Kill setups/patience (Pika don't kill early, and all of his KO moves are balls on shield.... drill it in him that he can't rush the kill)
- Edgeguarding
- Chaingrabs
- QAC
- Wall locks/jab lock
-----
- Uair > footstool
- Pika scarring & ground-canceled QA
-----
Banana-footstool lock

The last few are relatively unimportant (last one will probably never happen in a match), but if he gets bored, they're things he can learn just for the hell of it. There're also general techs like glide tossing, platform canceling, etc.

Hope that helps! & tell him the Pika boards are really friendly and pretty active, so he can feel free to stop by anytime.

I'm back! Does anyone want to know how my Christmas and New Years went? No matter, I'm going to tell you anyway.

First, the day before Christmas eve me and my family got into a traffic accident with another car on the way to our forest cabin. Luckily no one was hurt, but our car got scrapped and we had to rent a car for the rest of the holidays.

On Christmas eve our dog got sick and couldn't eat without puking shortly afterwards. Luckily it got all better by the Christmas day, which turned out to be great otherwise too. Only downside was that it was still very cold outside (-30 celsius) outside like for the two days before.

The day after Cristmas I accidentally cut my finger with a cold metal and peeled a nice piece of skin off of my index finger's fingertip. Again, it was nothing serious but bled like hell and is healing somewhat slowly. It's also a slight nuisance that I can't use one of my fingers.

Finally, on the last day of December my mother had to go see a doctor because her eye had swollen up. Turned out she had an eye infection. She got medication instructions and the infection is basically gone now.

tl:dr: Lots of **** happened, but everything always turned out much better than it could have. In the end there was nothing too serious, so I'm rather satisfied with my Cristmas and New Years.

did everyone get what they wanted for Christmas?
I didn't really wish for anything and got plenty of everything. I guess that means yes?

One thing that I wasn't expecting was a Xbox 360 Kinect.
My condolences.

I've been hoping for that game to get released in Europe ever since I first heard about it few months ago. Now that I've seen the reviews I'm even more hyped.

Don't force me to pirate it, game industry! :grimer:

My family kidnapped me this New Year Weekend.
They said "let's get out!", I went with them because I taught it would be a visit to a mall or something, but we ended up in another city, visiting some relatives.
Fun fact: altought nobody planned it, about 4 different family branches went there. ywah, it was an amazing event.

Also, my random (Squirtle that match) got super styled on by someone's Zelda on wifi. :embarrass: I felt some type of way for that whole stock.

It would really help if I scrolled further down their page to see that they said 65/35 lol.

I didn't, because I'd just forget them like I forgot my previous ones.

I live in Finland. That tiny country located in northern Europe, right next to Russia.
Oh I see. I had no idea it gets so cold there.

It just makes me realise how much I complain about the cold here... and it's not even cold.

"omfg 28 degrees celcius?! I'm so cold!!"

lol
