Then Sheik's FS was shown right after... and revealed to be overall better than Zelda's. It even does more damage (50% instead off 44%). WTF mate? Sheik slap in FS form?

Hehe you beat me before I could edit to say the same thing. Sheik's also does look harder to recover from since it sends the opponent downwards instead of upwards like Zelda's. That's not cool.

Maybe they do the same damage but the damage it does depends on the distance? Even if the damage is the same, I guess Sheik's is better because it sends them flying horizontal instead of upward like Zelda's.

Well, I just noticed something else interesting. Both Light Arrows stun targets in the line of fire before the Arrow itself is released. They take 3 damage from this, then a split second later, the Arrow fires and sends them. You can see it for yourself, that there are actually two hits. It might not be very hard to consistently land KOs with it.

It appears thatbecause Zelda's because it doesn't semi-spike, it may mean it's better to use on stages which have no emphasis on recovery (like Bridge of Eldin) where semi-spikes won't KO so well. On stages that DO have emphasis on recovery (ie most played stages), then Sheik's FS is better since it's basically either instant KO or an unrecoverable hit. But wait... Transforming is impossible in any practical situation where you'd need to because it takes twice as long now. Blah!

Ryoko dear, I always seem to see your avatar in my kitchen when its dark. So I always turn on all the lights and think of how nice you are, then it goes away :]

But yeah, I'm highly peeved. When Sakurai mentioned that the arrows would have different qualities, he should have just said "Sheik's FS is much better then Zelda's. But it'll all work out since you have to take one century of years to transform into her"

But I must say that I do love the way it comes out. Nice and quick :]

I hope no one minds me this x-posted this between two topics.

Here's the Rapidshare link if anyone wants an FLV of the file.
http://rs5l3.rapidshare.com/cgi-bin/...48820292731675

Basically, it's a youtube file with all the Final Smashes, except in FLV.

Is it just me? As far as I can tell, the arrow is an instantaneous projectile. It's like Link was hit as soon as the arrowhead flared up with light. The only way I could imagine this being less useful now is if the path of the arrow is really really thin and precise, with little vertical coverage below and above the arrow head. Otherwise, if anyone within a horizontal line of you does a move with lag that takes longer than it takes Zelda to draw her arrow, you're going to get a free smash.

Again, this is all speculation, but I'm left with a good impression of her Final Smash now.

Enjoy.

Well, there's on getting around it. Zelda's been buffed for the most part, and I think we can agree that she's better than her Melee counterpart. Still, has anyone noticed any possible nerfs?

So far, I see her jump height is the same or decreased, unsweetspotted Fair and Bair are pretty weak and leave her open, and the range on her UAir looks even smaller. Also, it seems like all of her moves have more vertical knockback than horizontal, similar to her final smash. I'm not complaining, it seems like she's going to be even more of a beast this time around, just getting this out of the way.

Oh yeah, and despite the last video's bad syncing, the sound at 2:35 was perfect.

Did the beginning and end of the Final Smash video make anyone almost fall of their chair full of laughter?

Also, King DeDeDe's Final Smash makes me want to punch something -.-

The new Transform is indeed really laggy, but it's also very invincible. Obviously it won't help against opponents that can move, but what about using it against certain Final Smashes?

EDIT: Oh, and at 3:05 in http://youtube.com/watch?v=eAIofUYGj7Y he used it to avoid getting hit for the last few seconds of the match, which is pretty awesome (although his timing wasn't perfect).

Haha yeah they were dancing to the music. Anyway i'm pretty happy how Zelda is shaping up it's great and I can't wait.

Also I found another video if anyone's interested it's not a CPU and she got the smash ball twice and connected with it once. She did use Farore's Wind once to recover and her Dsmash a couple times. http://youtube.com/watch?v=c0AqeNUHY_g

I hate Din's Fire suicides.

Hmm. Doesn't seem like a bad idea. Very clever, actually. I can picture it working on
Ganondorf's
, or maybe even a Zelda ditto, but that seems about it to me. I guess I'll have to try it! After some thought though, I don't think it would be very effective. It depends: do the invincibility frames start right away? If not, there my be better ways to avoid instant death.

Yeah, that seems the lazy way to go. I wonder if running away would be more effective. At any rate, I don't think that'll be of much use in a stock match.

Wow I just saw that new FS video and all I got to say is it is awesome when you hit multiple people. Also does anyone know if that was a taunt she did at the the end of her FS?

her Melee costume looks beautiful in-game. Looked quite odd to me in the DOJO screens, but I really like it now.
I love the way she's shaping up. She's really the only character I care about in the roster anymore, since my beloved Ganny is a clone again ='[

I love her FS now too. Looks like it could be quite effective if you learn how to master it, like Zelda herself, it's all about mastering. ;]

Yeaaah, but then you have a dilemma. Losing 3 seconds of invincibility, or finishing the match as Sheik >_>. I would definitely just run away. It would sicken me to fight as Zelda and then have them announce the winner as "Sheik".

I've seen that all the pessimism has finally gone away. >:/
I hate to say it, but I told you she would be awesome.
Although, I can see where all the doubt came from.

Although, everyone seems to think that the Zelda player (from the Zelda vs. Ike video) was just good and that's the only reason why Zelda won. That angers me.

Well I've finally achieved a weekend off. I had Mock TAKS tests the past few days (curse you Texas D:<) so I could not attend to actually post on smashboards. I've been looking out though.

I've fallen in love with Zelda all over again. Her as well as her moveset is gorgeous. And, with switching, wouldn't it just be good to switch between an enemy KO? I don't know, but that's how I always switched in Melee (even if that's not how they were supposed to be played) sometimes. Ah well. Zelda is awesome.

Wow, quite the tangent. I'm just excited. I can't wait to play as Zelda. Although, I'm quite worried. I don't think I'm good enough for competition. Although I did win the tournament at school, I've never played anyone more than new players and those tournament goers, players who weren't exactly great. Oh well, it'll get here when it gets here.

On another note, who wants to switch friend/Brawl codes when it gets here so we can play against each other? :D I know I would.

Black and white Sheik looks awesome.

I knew someone was going to say that. Personally, I thought it would be Iris. Curse you, Drake! I lost a bet because of you! ... >.>

Anyway Hipsterkid, A couple of things:

Who's been saying that the only reason Zelda won just because the player was good?! We must DESTROY them. Anyway, I personally think the video just shows that Zelda can be played well.

Don't worry about being away... the site's been a mess... I've had a LOT of trouble viewing/posting. But that seems fixed now. :)

Does anyone know how long it takes for an enemy to get active against once ko'd? Will Zelda have enough time to switch if the opponent isn't star ko'd? Or even if the opponent is star ko'd?

Same: I'm either a really good n00b, or a below-average competitive. I won my school's Smash Till Dawn (there may or may not have been some Halo/Rock Band/Guitar Hero involved, too... ;)), but then, only a few people there were any good. I don't know how many times I got to punish Kirby down-b spam...

...so yeah, I totally want to play you (and you, -spAzn-)! Once I figure out my friend/Brawl code (just got a Wii twenty minutes ago! SO. HAPPY.) we HAVE to go a few rounds... and yeah, Black and White Zelda/Sheik is incredible.

Yeah, it definitely seemed like an Iris thing to say. But at the end of the match when she started transforming I was like "Whoa! Wait, what're you doing?!"

Yes, Iris has got a bit of a reputation now, huh. Nothing like giving Sheik the credit for Zelda's work.

Oh...oh, it's on now! Someone needs to start a Zelda video thread soon, so we can show all of our matches... "Rate my Zelda" threads EVERYWHERE! *Maniacal laughter* I'm planning on getting seriously competetive with Brawl.

I'm assuming it's going to be a Zelda ditto match. I'm not planning on going easy either. *Holds up sign: 'Determined'*

The Wii was a miracle. We went to Wal-Mart (now considered my favourite store, if only because of this), and I JUST made it in time; there were two left, and I just barely grabbed one before three other people behind me battled for the last.

Comment-goers on the Ike-Zelda match. You can read them every so often. I guess it's not a big deal. But you can obviously tell that there is a big difference in Zelda.

Yes, I know. General Brawl Discussion was my friend for the past few weeks. However, with the recent roster revealing, I dropped that part of the forum and came back home. :p

I'm very sure it'd work if you star KO'ed someone. Especially if you switched right after hitting them. I'm pretty sure that you can even knock someone very far off the stage, get a good distance away and then transform with a minimal amount of time to spare.

Same: I'm either a really good n00b, or a below-average competitive. The worst part of it was that I used Sheik throughout most of the tournament. I knew I shouldn't have but that was before I became good with Zelda. So idk about that yet. ;/

(Plays overdramatic Pokemon Anime music) Yeah!! I'm up for everyone's challenge. >:]
Ehem.. Congratulations on getting your Wii. :] Now you're ready :D Not only is it a good thing for playing against each other but we could also send each other videos with possible combos, techniques, or even just fun brawls. They would be easier to comprehend then text. Oh, internet, I love you so =^_^=

Whats Zelda's 3rd taunt?
I've only seen the one with the dagger thingy and the one when she holds up her arm...
Or has it not been revealed yet?....
Dagger? I've yet to see that! Would you happen to have a link or picture, please? :D

Oh wow, Her Final Smash is flippin sweet. The video with Sheik using it and missing was really disappointing cause it lasted all of 2 seconds. But the fact that it freezes makes it pretty much the coolest FS ever.

I would like to be involved with this Zelda family fight too :) Although I'm not very good I suppose =/. Oh well, someone has to lose eh? I guess I'll be that person. Oh and Congrats Luthien on getting your Wii! I just got mine recently as well basically for Brawl so I know how you feel :p

Off topic: what type of control scheme are you all going to be using? I was thinking Wii Remote sideways. Although I might rotate that with GC control.

I was thinking of trying all of them, but I did buy a GC remote specifically for Brawl, so probably that (I never owned a Gamecube go figure). Oh, and Hippykid, you're next on the list, after I destroy Luthien. After you it's Ztarfish. Let the trash talking commence!

Wii Nunchuk probably. I dunno using GC controller seems.. I dunno unkosher to me. I'm sort of OCD in some ways like that. Plus just the Wiimote looks really hard and I don't want to spend extra money on the Classic Controller. So yeah probably Nunchuk.

And @ Hipsterkid yeah, I suppose since we're all kind of going to be in the dark at the beginning of Brawl it's ok.

Oh and good news! We have a standardized test the two days after Brawl comes out that Juniors and Seniors don't have to take. So I get two days to play Brawl right after I get it. Sweeeeeeet.

Drake: Excuse me if I tend to be slightly indestructible, it's a big of a problem. :p

... oh, wow. Sorry, I'm picturing myself in a "Zelda Main" jacket right now, and I'm not looking all that... er... 'cool.' Rather the opposite. All the better!

Is anyone going to be using the Wiimote (I just got the pun a minute ago... ^^')? Wow, Hipsterkid, you're adventurous. I really can't picture myself using anything but the GC controller. Seriously, does anyone else think that the wiimote + nunchuk is a little risky in a serious match? It seems like too many things could go wrong to me.

Brawl is nearing so fast that everyone talks about beating each other. hahahaha we should make an onine smash team called "The Zelda Alliance" LOL

Anyways Im excited to fight others as well.... the only thing im afraid of is that I live in the philippines... which COULD make the gameplay quite laggy.... T___T

please o please... I want to fight other players FOR ONCE
battling with my sisters is no fun at all.....

If we're going to make an alliance of some sort it should at least have a flashy name in reference to The Legend of Zelda, like "Order of the Hyrulian Princesses*" or something.

* No, I'm not creative, but you get the idea.

Lag-shmag. After I make Drake eat his words and -spAzn-/Hipsterkid fall, you're up. I do not fear lag! Edit: And Ztarfish is goin' down, too.

At least your sisters play. Mine just mocks me when I die horrible deaths.

Note to all: the first one to press down-b will be smitten by lightning.

Yeah, my name sucks but I was trying to give an example ;_;

On an unrelated note, I would love if someone could find the vs Ike video in its original format... I'll look around Nico and Google but I don't have much to go on.

Oh, crap. That can't be good.

I can still see it, but I can't see the images I put in Pappioll's thread. Anyone know how to fix that? ^^'. I wouldn't want -spAzn-'s wonderful work to go to waste. SOMEONE SAVE MY PRECIOUS SIG!! I'm helpless when it comes to these things...
