Yoshi is broken...

Doesn't look particularly broken to me, but then again, I'm still not entirely sure what I'm looking at yet. I guessing it was that back air into a sliding up air, but I'm not sure.

No the DJC comes after the bair --> rising uair combo. Yoshi does a fair and lands on the main stage, marth does a fair off the left of the middle platform, misses, and yoshi punishes with a djc uair.

Ah, I see it now! The up air hit and he instantly went back to a standing position.

Imagine - Yoshi as a HARD counter for Meta Knight. Too good to be true? Probably, but it's still a fun thought. Any idea what's in going on and what to look for/do? (Yes, I know that's what you're testing right now, I'm trying to find out what you know so I can help with it.)

wow... this sounds awesome... i don't want yoshi to turn into another MK though T_T.... adorable little dinosaur....

I do! Screw that, I'm tired of hearing all of this "Yoshi is bottom tier!" garbage. If the wavedash, CGs, neutral against Meta Knight and grab-release spikes don't raise his tier standings, this had better. I would love to see a billion Yoshis all of a sudden and know that I was winning with him before it was the cool thing to do.

Its up to us to raise his rating on that tier, lets use all this and get out there and win some tourneys. We still must apply all this knowledge and place well at some big tourneys. I think we will see Yoshi rise up soon.

Hey, I'm doing my part. My Yoshi has been placing fairly well in official tournaments around here. :bee:

(Except that last one... man, I sucked on that one. :urg:)

Not that they count for nearly as much, but I've been repping him in online tournaments here as well. I'd like to see more details on this, though, so I can do an even better job of it. ;)

Dude, I would tell you if we knew exactly how to do it. Chill out. I've told you this many times now. We're trying to get the exact controls figured out I've told you what it is like 6 times.

Ah nice vid, we've found out about those. The ones we're still working on is the mid air ones.

Summary:

"Niko_K" posted a thread about a tech that could kill MK in one hit. "He" also posted a video showing Peach killing MK in one hit with Spore. All "he" did was set the damage ratio the the highest point and hit MK with Toad's Spore, so of course he'd die in one hit. =X

There were people going crazy, and claiming to have done this tech, and looked pretty stupid when the whole thing turned out to be fake. It was his roomate, trolling on his account.

The thread is locked unfortunately.

After watching that video a few times, the stage wasn't sloping when he did it. Honestly, it's similar to what I can do (DJC a Nair really close to the ground and only get the initial frames), but I don't know the timing, placement, or how fast you need to input the buttons to have it done.

Chaco, I believe had DJC right out of the air (higher like how yoshi can djc in melee). I know Mmac did it once when we were doing dittos a while ago, but we never got to save the replay. W/o any type to visual information to see what was going on, I can't figure out how to get it to work.

Darn... We need this stuff. If we could get one replay of the DJC I bet the info could be hacked out of it.

The trouble is they apparently decided to switch what they were going to focus the thread on, and now they're taking more time to work on those. Odd? Maybe. Reasonable? Given the nature of them, I'd like to think so.
